[This episode with Dr Wendy Wood is from a YouTube episode aired on 28 June 2024. It is released here as a podcast to compliment the episode with Dr Kerensa Hocken, which discussed Compassion Focused Therapy in forensice populations, released last Friday (15 November 2024).]
One of my most watched videos is WHAT IS COMPASSION FOCUSED THERAPY, from back in 2020! In this video, I speak with Dr Wendy Wood from The Compassionate Mind Foundation (CMF) about LEARNING COMPASSION FOCUSED THERAPY.
Wendy has a long history teaching and supervising psychotherapy and counselling, and has helped create the DIPLOMA IN COMPASSION FOCUSED THERAPY at CMF. And the diploma course beautifully integrates CFT principles into its admissions, tuition and assessment, so that people can thrive and become part of a supportive community.
She mentions CFT and chair work, trauma, forensic populations, running CFT in groups, masterclasses, case studies, supervision and the role for deliberate practice. For anyone interested in becoming a CFT therapist, the diploma course at CMF is definitely a great way to go!
