I talk to Marco Andre, Global Head of AI and Marketing Excellence at Novartis. I was particularly excited because Marco is quite unique. He possesses extensive experience in AI and automation, yet he brings a refreshing humility to how these tools can be applied in the pharmaceutical industry.
Marco is a keynote speaker, an AI advisor to executives, and a published author. With over 20 years of experience in companies such as Google, Procter & Gamble, and YouTube, he has held local, regional, and global roles in marketing, sales, partnerships, and operations. Outside of work, Marco is the author of the book Imperfect Stories, a passionate Lego enthusiast, and a proud owner of more than 20 sets.
I believe I first met Marco in person in Dubrovnik in May this year, where he delivered two memorable presentations. On Day 1, he gave a talk titled "The Hype is Gone, It's Time to Grieve," focusing on generative AI. His presentation was so entertaining that I found myself sitting at the edge of my seat; it was fast-paced yet highly engaging. I think he received the highest score for the upfront presentation that day. On the second day, he led a brilliant interactive panel discussion about learning from failures. I thoroughly enjoyed his sessions—they were fun, interactive, and refreshingly real.

I recently had the pleasure to pick James' brain on a Linkedin Live, our first ever one! Which I have turned into this podcast.
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing more about his career moves and opinions on the future of the field force.
James Harper and I met through a Reuters webinar on omnichannel. Both of us were commenting about things we thought should be discussed. The similarities in our comments led to us having a conversation outside of the webinar, and we are as aligned as we thought we were!
We still have not met in person, but we already know each other. Our Venn diagrams of what we do for a living overlap quite considerably. This shows the power of digital and shared passions.

I kickstarted 2023 by interviewing Sophie Graham-Godet from GSK as I continue my Digital Transformation Series.
If you’ve listened to any of my previous podcasts or have been following me on LinkedIn, you will know that I'm incredibly passionate about helping pharma sales professionals get confident about using technology to improve the quality of their engagements with HCPs.
Through these interviews, I share nuggets of information that I hope will inspire other leaders to help their teams along their digital transformation journeys.
Sophie Graham-Godet is an inspiring leader, during her career she has successfully led both industry marketing and consulting teams delivering award-winning transformational programmes in top pharmaceutical companies. She is currently leading the Omnichannel Capability acceleration at GSK.
Sophie and I used to work together at Pfizer and reconnected at a Reuters conference in Nice in 2022. I am so glad we did and it was an absolute pleasure to catch up properly over this conversation.

When COVID-19 locked us down in 2020, the pharmaceutical industry rushed to buy digital tools so that their teams could continue to work remotely.
What many organisations failed to do was help their teams transform and adopt omnichannel.
Over the course of the year, I’ve been interviewing successful global pharma leaders about this topic and found they all focus on the people behind the 'tools'.
For this episode in my Digital Transformation Series, I had the pleasure of chatting with Chris Wade, AVP of Strategic Solutions at Exeevo.
Please enjoy the conversation! -
As part of my DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION SERIES, I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Florent Edouard about his diverse career and opinions on various industry topics!
We related on so many topics and you can hear so many nuggets of golden information from him!
To create a culture of innovation organisations need to stop micromanaging their teams. They need to let them learn along the way and make mistakes! The pharmaceutical sales representative’s role should be the orchestrator of the omnichannel and customer experience. Representatives need to know the field and their products and not just the marketing message. As HCPs can just visit a website to read that.
A few of Florent’s points:Please enjoy the conversation!

For the next interview in our DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION SERIES, I enjoyed an entertaining chat with Paul Simms, Chief Executive of Impatient Health.
Paul is a self-professed noisy introvert, and disruptive thinker, so you can tell this was going to be a little controversial.
We discussed how looking at what other industries are doing is something the pharmaceutical industry could learn from, doing things differently, and not being afraid to be human.
-

I have developed great working relationships with both Koen and Kym and thoroughly enjoyed interviewing this dynamic duo about the change of culture in the pharmaceutical industry, now that remote engagement is here to stay.
