And we're finally (maybe??) closing out our Skrulls arc! We wrap it up with The Marvels! The fanbros really did what they could to kill our chances of seeing these three together on screen again. But your Geeks didn't think the hate this film received was at all warranted. What did you think when you saw it?

Staying with our previous episode, we've come now to cover Carol Danvers' biggest fan: Kamala Khan! Yes, we're tackling Ms. Marvel from 2022 -- and boy oh boy are we glad we waited to cover this one. One of the Geeks did a complete 180 in their opinion from the first time they watched the series two years ago. Can you guess who changed their mind?

It's time to jump into our Skrulls MCU run! We kick it off with Captain Marvel -- which we both agreed that this film got a bunch of hate it absolutely did NOT deserve. Before we get into the film review, the Geeks both talked about falling down the true crime rabbit hole on Netflix. So let's go higher, further, faster by giving this episode a listen!

After an extended hiatus, your Geeks have returned!! Where were we? Totally unbeknownst to us, we both went on cruises! Mark went to France and Jasmin, like the characters in Sweet Tooth, made her way up to Alaska! Don't worry, she didn't see any Hybrids, nor does she have The Sick. ;) But we are back to wrap up this series that we began covering back in 2021!
We first dove into the world of Sweet Tooth with the first volume of the original graphic novel by Jeff Lemire. Check out episode 53 if you need a refresher. Then we talked about season 1 in episode 54 and season 2 in episode 131. So how does the series we've been following for the past three years end, and were we satisfied? You'll have to listen to find out!

We started our adventure into this branch of Marvel allllllllllll the way back in March of this year! And here we are now, 21 episodes later! Thank you so much for taking this ride with us. This block has been in the works for nearly two years over here at Geeks Unleashed, and it's a little bittersweet that it's come to a close. Our "Summer of X" has lasted almost half the year and we couldn't be more thrilled to truly end on a bang with the BILLION DOLLAR film, Deadpool & Wolverine. Not only did we take it back to Generation X, we also threw some Daredevil: Director's Cut and Elektra in for good measure. From Patrick Stewart to James McAvoy and every character in between, we've had a blast. Now here's the first film of 2024 that BOTH Geeks saw in theaters!TRACKLIST:1:20 - Geek of the Week: Jasmin - Revenger (2023, Crunchyroll); Mark - Twisters (2024)9:20 - A small 2024 podcast recap!12:09 - Film summary and fun facts24:50 - Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) review1:24:57 - Mark and Jasmin have an announcement!

In this conversation episode, we're joined by the Geeks Unleashed OG Stephen Fox and our good friend and fellow Bad Batch buddy, Phable from One Collection Down! To completely wrap up our stint with our favorite adamantium clad anti-hero, we read Wolverine Origin (2001). This mini series was a nice change of pace from the other X-Men collections we've read during our Summer of X series. Both Geeks really enjoyed going all the way back to the late 1800s to learn more about James Howlett.

We've finished all the team driven films and are embarking on the individual characters now. We're kicking it off with the first of the Wolverine trilogy. Jasmin has seen this film more times than she can count, but this is only Mark's second viewing. Will this have any bearing on the Geek's rating?

Between reshoots, a merger, and COVID, how much sympathy are the Geeks willing to give to the circumstances surrounding this film? Can The New Mutants surprise us in spite of its doomed production?

Call it a casualty of the merger if you'd like, but Dark Phoenix is the second to last film in this age of X-Men as lead by Fox. We definitely dig into some of the behind the scenes drama with this one, but where does it fall on our ranking of X-films so far? You've got to tune in to find out!

We are joined once again by our homie, Lynk to help us get through this -- dare we say -- underrated film? That's right, our "Summer of X" continues as we tackle The Rogue Cut of X-Men Days of Future Past. And when we say this is an underrated film, you'll understand why when we talk about the absolute POWERHOUSE year for blockbuster films that was 2014.
