    Lyrics to "Honor and Glory"

You turned the sea to dry land

So we could cross the river

    delivered us by your hand

    And we rejoiced together

So we give thanks through all the earth

For You alone command the waters

And You have heard my desperate prayers

For You alone save Your sons and daughters

    Chorus:

    Honor and glory

    From every nation

    Every generation

    Is Yours O God

    This day of blessing

    Hearts now confessing

Your saving power and glorious work

    Forever and ever, Amen.

You O God have tested us

You trapped us in your net

Laid heavy burdens on our backs

Let men trample on our heads

But then You brought us to your house

    You refined us like silver

You brought us into freedom land

    Through the fire and water

    Bridge:

Your Cross covers the whole earth

    And points to everyone everywhere

    From one man

    One crucifixion

    One resurrection

    One life for everyone

  • This scripture passage is so interesting and complex. A real cautionary tale. Chad sorts it all out for us, pointing us to Christ and His forgiveness, and warning us to resist taking matters of retribution into our own hands.

Lyrics to "For Want of Forgiveness"

Let me go, and leave my heart of stone

    I’ll walk away

    From getting even

For the times I was betrayed

    And thought revenge

    My only solution

    Sunlight

    flooding into darkness

You hold me up, and I’m letting go

    Jesus, walking on the water

You come for me, and I’m letting go

    Chorus:

    But Abner;

    Your hands were not bound;
    your feet were not fettered;

    No man showed you mercy

    Forgiving his debtor
as one falls before the wicked
    you have fallen.”

    For want of forgiveness

Deliver me from seeking my revenge

    At the shrine of retribution

And I trust that Lord You have forgiven me

    And I received Your absolution

    Sunlight

    flooding into darkness

You hold me up, so I’m letting go

    Jesus, walking on the water

You come for me, and I’m letting go

    Chorus:

    But Abner;

    Your hands were not bound;
    your feet were not fettered;

    None showed you mercy

    You were the debtor
as one falls before the wicked
    you have fallen.”

    For want of forgiveness

Don’t want to live a lie

    Empty and alone

    For want of forgiveness

    A fool without friends

    Take my heart of stone

    I have been forgiven

    Lyrics to

Oh, How the Mighty are Fallen (2 Samuel 1:17-27)

Your glory, O Israel, is slain on a hill!
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!

Keep the news to yourself, of the blood that was spilled

Oh, How the mighty have fallen!

No field of offerings! no rain upon you
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!
Saul and Jonathan, beloved and true
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!

    Chorus

    They were swifter than eagles

    and stronger than lions

Oh, how the mighty have fallen

Now the weapons of war, have all run their course

The song we are singing is solemn

    Oh, how the mighty

Oh, how the mighty have fallen

    vs3

“You daughters of Israel, weep over Saul,
who clothed you in scarlet aplenty,
who put ornaments of gold, with a heart so bold

But his sword did not return empty

The sun stood still, in the midst of the sky

Oh, How the mighty have fallen!

Jonathan my brother, how could you die

Oh, How the mighty have fallen!

    Chorus

    They were swifter than eagles

    and stronger than the lions

Oh, how the mighty have fallen

Now the weapons of war, have all run their course

The song we are singing is solemn

    Oh, how the mighty

    My Jealous Fear

    As my kingdom slips away

    The prophets lips have spoken

    Fear is taking over

    And everything is broken

And I clench my fist in anger

    I cannot hold the crown

    Even in my greatest dreams

    I keep losing the throne

    Chorus:

“Saul has struck down his thousands

    And we celebrate

But 10,000 are struck down by David

    And His name is great

    What more can he have,

    What more can he have

    but the kingdom

    Now all I have left

    Is my jealous fear

I looked for one just like me

Cried out for an earthly king

I was a fearful created being

    When I rejected You

    And Saul fell like Lucifer

    But David rose like Christ

    My true King and Warrior

The way, the truth the life

    bridge

    Let me serve only You

    And see through Your eyes

    By Your Word and Spirit

    You can give me wisdom

    To serve only You

    In Your love and mercy

For every false way, every wrong turn, I’ve been following, I’ve been trying

Please forgive me, please forgive me

all I have left, all I have left, jealous fear

Hannah’s Song “And You Remember Me”

The bows of the mighty are broken,

And the rich sink under the waves

You raise the poor from the wreckage

And the feeble are clothed with strength.

    O Lord of hosts

    My heart rejoices in you

    O Lord of hosts

    You make all things new

    And You Remember me

    And You Remember me

    O Lord of hosts

for not by might shall a man prevail.

You bring low, and raise us up

The wicked ones shall be cut off

While You fill the empty cup

    O Lord of hosts

Lyrics to Seed of a Woman

    Turn aside, turn aside

    Do not be afraid

    Lay down, lay down

    Never to awake

    At her feet, he sank

    he fell asleep

    At her feet, he laid

    Never to arise

She holds the hammer and takes the nail

    In her right hand

Through his temple, comes the storm

    And he will never stand

At her feet, he sank ,

    he fell asleep

    At her feet, he laid

    Never to awake

    Chorus:

    The seed of a woman

    Crushed the serpents head

    Son of the virgin

    Rose from the dead

    The seed of a woman

    Sunlight at dawn

When it rises, in its might

Praise to God. praise to God

    For victory

    Over sin, over death

    Our enemy

    At her feet, he sank

    he fell asleep

    At her feet, he laid

    Never to arise

    Turn aside, turn aside

    I will not be afraid

I will lay down in peace

    And when I awake

At Your feet, I will fall

    and worship my Lord

At Your feet, I will bow

    For I am alive

    Its over, its over now

Its over, do you hear the bell?

Ring out, ring out over death and hell

    Your enemies perish

    Lyrics to "Restoration"

    Deborah’s Song (Part 1)

    Restoration

When we did what was right

    In our own eyes

    We were taken away

    We were caught by surprise

    Our highways abandoned,

    Our villages ceased
The travelers kept to the byways.

    The land had no peace

When the Lord went before us

    The heavens came down

    The clouds dropped their water

    And You shook the ground

    (Chorus)

    We were so tired

    And hope was gone

    Out of the silence

    We hear a song

    Restoration

    My heart goes out

    To those of you

    Who offered themselves

    So willingly

    My heart can sing

    Melodies to the Lord

Those that love You shall be

    With a heart restored

When the Lord went before us

    The heavens came down

    The clouds dropped their water

    And You shook the ground

    (Chorus)

    We were so tired

    And hope was gone

    Out of the silence

    We hear a song

    Restoration

    Hear O kings

    All you in high places

    Let us sing

    Sing to the God

    who saves us

    Restoration

    Vengeance is Yours

    And Yours all alone

Judgement will come, in Your time

You take care of Your own

    Chorus:

    I have been crucified

    I have been made alive

    Here with my cross

I can walk in the light of Christ

You kill and you make alive

There is no god beside You

You wound and You heal me

    And no one can undo

    Lord, in my weakness

    May I seek Your face

    Lord, in my woundedness

But don’t let me fall away, don’t let me fall away

Don’t let me forget, the God who gave me birth

    Chorus

    Lord have mercy

    Christ have mercy

    Lord have mercy

    On me

Did you say, “I will turn away; and hide my face”

Did you say, “this generation provokes my rage”

Don’t let me forget, the God of heaven and earth

    Chorus

    Lord have mercy

    Christ have mercy

    Lord have mercy

    On me

    The mountain is on fire

And it burns to the depths of hell

The forest turned to a wasteland

    You will bring us in

We are unafraid forever, unafraid forever

    Amen

    Verse

You have led us through stormy seas

    And through the wilderness

You have led us to Your holy mountain

    The New Jerusalem

    From this world to eternity

    You are watching over us

From captivity to be set free

    Christ has rescued me

    Bridge

    You are leading us

    We are on a journey

To the land you have prepared oh

    On the road to glory

    On the road to glory

    No reason to fear

    You will bring us in

    Unafraid

  • Hidden Streams is exploring songs that are found in the canon of scripture. Chad's first pick to look at is called "The Song at the Sea" from Exodus 15. Jeff Anderson sings "There Is None Like You". In this song and many others that we will explore, we see God going to battle on behalf of His people. Very encouraging news for those of us that are struggling.

Lyrics to Song at the Sea (Exodus 15a)

    In a world of trouble

    Pursued by my enemy

We were trapped in the middle

Of the devil and the sea

My enemy boasted I was done

I had no strength left of my own

But You blew back the waters and rescued me

    And my enemy was overthrown

There is none like you, none like You

There is none like you, none like You

    Chorus:

    I am standing

    On the other side

    Across the great divide

    I am standing

    cause You carried me

    Across the great divide

    And now I sing

    There is none like You

    Vs3

    You alone are my strength

    The God of my father

And Your right hand O Christ

Is strong and majestic in power

When I’m swallowed up in pride

    You are my only salvation

When the enemy gets into my mind

    You are my only redemption

There is none like you, none like You

There is none like you, none like You

    Chorus

    I am standing

    On the other side

    Across the great divide

    I am standing

    Because You carried me

    Across the great divide

    And now I sing

    There is none like You

    Lyrics to "Extraordinary Care"

O Lord, It is good and right

    To give thanks to you

    Our tables overflow

    Our children are so blessed

    In this ordinary world

    You give extraordinary care

    To those who fear you

    To those who fear you

    You strengthen the gates

    In Your city at rest

    Because of Your love

Lord we know we are blessed

    In this ordinary world

    You give extraordinary care

    To those who fear you

    To those who fear you

    Chorus:

    Scatter the frost like ashes

You spread the snow like wool

    You freeze the flowing waters

And melt them by Your word

    Praise the Lord

    O my soul

    We give all our thanks

To the Lord of the seasons

    For the blessings that arrive

    By Your good pleasure

    In this ordinary world

    You give extraordinary care

    To those who fear you

    To those who fear you

    Christ is with us

    Christ is with us
