We get to close a couple cases this week, as the mysteries around Michail Antonio and Jason Puncheon from the last episode are solved.
Club football returned and Harry Kane became the fastest player to 50 Bundesliga goals with his hat-trick against Augsburg. His third goal was excellent... but did he mean it? Elsewhere, Steven Gerrard has brought another old friend to Al-Ettiffaq, while Gareth Southgate's former England assistant may have bagged a new job in Japan. Plus, we discuss the future of Marcus Edwards at Sporting after making his first start of the season.
What's your dream Italian club to play for?

The last week has seen plenty of British-born footballers on diaspora duty for international sides outside the UK, although only a few got what they were hoping for out of it. Those in action for Gambia and Sierra Leone saw their AFCON hopes evaporate, while Jamaica lost in their Nations League Quarter Final after a series of bad luck from the UK diaspora including a missed penalty, a red card and - perhaps most infuriatingly of all - a lost passport.
A changing of the guard down the bottom end of UEFA sees Gibraltar and Malta head to play-offs, while in club football the most fun managerial appointment of recent weeks has already gone belly up.

We begin with a club round-up, with the latest on British-born or raised players and coaches in MLS play-offs, and an East London duo leading a Zimbabwean side to promotion. Plus, Jude Bellingham finally gets off the mark this season, while the fun times continue for Gent pair Archie Brown and Max Dean.
Then we head to Diaspora Duty ahead of the international break: there are British-born players called up for the first time to Antigua, Guyana and Jamaica, including Newcastle Unitesd's Isaac Hayden. In Africa, the AFCON qualification reaches its climax, with plenty of our contingent looking to help their family countries reach a major tournament.
Finally, we were contacted by scouts for the Fijian FA... more in the pod!

We return after a fortnight away with some intriguing managerial reports, including trouble for Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq and a surprise Serie A link for Frank Lampard. Plus, one of the great managerial gigs secured in Cyprus by former Premier League winger Jason Puncheon.
Around the world, there are summer leagues coming to an end, so we report on the great form of a couple Scots in the MLS play-offs, and an overdue update on Jesse Lingard in the K-League. In Italian football, we celebrate the return of Lewis Ferguson after his long lay-off.

The Diaspora Duty roundup of this international break begins on a tragic note, following the death of England-born Greece international George Baldock.
On the pitch, we salute the debuts of Basil Tuma and Maxi Oyedele for Malta and Poland, respectively, plus former guest Bevis Mugabi gets his first international goal as Uganda seal qualification for AFCON 2025. Steven Caulker's Sierra Leone pull of a shock win in their group, while across the Atlantic there are a number of British-born players in action for CONCACAF nations in the Nations League.

Lots of updates as we head into another international break. In the club game, there are more goals for Scott McTominay, Jonathan Rowe and Andy Carroll, plus a great hat-trick for Mika Biereth in the big Austrian title clash of the season.
This week the diaspora go around the world to play for their family countries, and there are lots of new senior call-ups to talk through - Malta promote a recent Eton graduate, Mason Holgate accepts the call from Jamaica, while Salford-born teenager Maxi Oyedele could be the first Black player for Poland in 20 years. There's also a strange tussle between England and Portugal for a Wolves youngster...

News from the British players in action for clubs in the Europa League, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium and Spain.
Among those, Harry Kane strikes a blank against Bayer Leverkusen and draws some criticism from the German press, while Scott McTominay helps Napoli to the top of Serie A. Gallagher & Bellingham faced off in the Madrid derby but they were understandably... distracted.

The top level of club football is back and plenty of overseas-based Brits were doing their thing for their respective clubs, not least in Serie A where Samuel Iling-Junior, Ademola Lookman, Keinan Davis and Tammy Abraham were doing good work over the weekend. We also reflect on Ivan Toney and Chris Smalling's starts in Saudi Arabia, Harry Kane's goalscoring records for Bayern Munich and a mixed week so far for Brits abroad in the new Champions League format.
Despite transfer windows closing, there are still moves abroad to discuss for free agents including Liam Cooper in Bulgaria, Andros Townsend's unveiling (finally!) in Antalya, and a very interesting English duo signing for the French fallen giant, Bordeaux.

As the first international break of the new season comes to a close, we reflect on the British-born players that represented national sides around the world, many of whom for the first time. A teacher helps make history for Anguilla, a West Ham academy player helps Mauritius to an impressive away result on his senior football debut, and a Crystal Palace teenager scores for Sierra Leone in his first week as an international footballer.
There's more transfers abroad to catch you up on as the remaining windows come to a close, including three English youngsters leaving the Premier League on loan for Belgium. Plus, we pour one out for the Stockport County assistant manager whose coaching dreams are crumped into dust by Brexit.

Plus, it's the international break which means a Diaspora Duty report full of new call-ups and nationalisations for St. Lucia, UAE, Sierra Leone, Singapore and Anguilla. There's also a rumoured international call-up for Eddie Nketiah which neither of us can get our heads around...

The transfer market continues to bring more British players abroad to pastures new, with Saido Berahino heading to India and Samuel Iling-Junior making an immediate return to Serie A. Also set to join that league is Scott McTominay, whose link up with Antonio Conte could be the Italian variant of the Gallagher x Simeone love-in!
We also discuss Andros Townsend's nightmare start to his time at Antalyaspor (if you can call it a start yet), a dream home debut for Che Adams at Torino, and a brace for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in Dortmund over the weekend. Plus, a spotlight on the diaspora set to play for Albania and Hungary at EURO 2024, as well as a roundup of confirmed and rumoured transfers of players leaving the UK, including Omari Forson rejecting a stay at Manchester United to join Serie A side Monza.

On the club game, we salute Jude Bellingham on his Champions League win, and hold a mirror to the hypercriticism coming his way from English viewers. Plus, a tweet-and-delete from Wilfried Zaha suggests a Galatasaray exit is more likely than unlikely.
Then we turn to this international break and the diaspora that featured in games played so far, including 39 year-old Curtis Davies scoring for Sierra Leone, and a group of youngsters in action for Gibraltar against Scotland, including a teenage prospect at Manchester United. It's not good news for everyone, however, as we discuss those British-born players that didn't make the cut for the EURO 2024 squads of France, Denmark and Poland.

There will be British representation on the pitch at the Champions League Final in London this season, as Jadon Sancho and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens of Borussia Dortmund) head back to London to face Jude Bellingham's Real Madrid on June 1st. This of course confirms a trophyless season for Harry Kane, who saw Bayern's attempt at European glory collapse after he was substituted at the Bernabeu. Get in touch with the show @intlclearance
