  • Don’t make the same mistakes Deo made.

I was so excited to chat with Nurse Deo today because she recently became a permanent resident after navigating the process from overseas, and she’s here to share her process with us.

Deo walked me through all the steps, from getting her qualifications assessed to obtaining registration in New Zealand first before transferring to Australia.

She also opened up about relying too heavily on her agent without getting proper legal advice, which is something I always recommend against.

For anyone thinking about the big move down under, Deo's top tip is to seek guidance from a migration professional - it can save you so much potential hassle later on.

Be sure to listen in for all of her valuable insights gained from her own experience. And don't forget, if you need help creating a tailored plan for yourself, you can book a consultation with me and my team.

  • So, you've got skills, and Australia's got a skills shortage! Sounds like a perfect match for migration bliss, right? Have you heard about Australia's 'Skilled Nominated' or 'Skilled Independent' programs?

Maybe you've even checked the programs out yourself and figured, 'Hey, I can get to 65 points, no worries!" Easy on there, my friend. First, you're going to need to do a fair bit of research.

And that's where Rhea Fawole and SOLVi Migration come in: at your service to help you improve your chances of getting a visa through one of these programs.

The 'Skilled Nominated' and 'Skilled Independent' are fantastic visa opportunities, and they can provide quicker access to permanent residency in Australia.

Learn how to put in an expression of interest and why your particular occupation might be on the list but not too high a priority (i.e. it might not be the right visa pathway for you).

There are a limited number of visas, and just because you meet the minimum number of points doesn't mean you're automatically going to get an invitation.

Weighing up your visa options and understanding the pros and cons of each before you apply is where Rhea's advice is worth its weight in gold.

"You have to think about it from a government perspective: why a policy or a program is set up for visas." ~ Rhea Fawole

    - How do these two nominated programs work (an insider's perspective)?

    - What is subclass 189 (the 'Skilled Independent' visa)?

    - Knowing which subclass has more invitations pertaining to your particular job

    - Why the Aussie government wants to incentivise people working in regional areas

    - Unpacking Australia's migration planning 'levels' in government

    - What are the pros and cons of using these programs for your migration pathway?

    - What are the common mistakes that immigration officers deal with regularly?

  • In today's episode of 'Making Australian Migration Easy', Rhea finds herself in the hot seat – being interviewed by Krunal Nayak, for his podcast 'My Australian Journey'. If you've enjoyed Rhea's insights into the Australian migration process thus far, then episode is an absolute must!

From dealing with  immigration detention in the past, to the Brisbane Olympics in the future, Krunal asks Rhea to shine her light on not only her Australian journey, but where she sees the country going too.

Rhea jokes that she came from the 'dark side' when she was working for Australian immigration and that now she's using her powers for good. And of course there's a great deal of truth in her jest as she illuminates contentious topics such as 'why is my visa taking so long' by debunking some of the behind-the-scenes mystery, while still being Australia's greatest advocate.

All she is asking is that you go about your migration pathway the right way, by hiring a migration lawyer and/or seeking a consultation with a company such as hers, SOLVi Migration. That way you can get Down Under without going about it in a roundabout way, or getting too down when your application falters. Please join us!

  • Understanding how to come and work (or study) in Australia can be a daunting process. Our host Rhea Fawole can attest to the fact that it's a wonderful country to live in – and that the effort in getting here is well worth it.

No one has their finger on the pulse of what's happening with Australian migration more than Rhea and her SOLVi Migration team. And in this episode, Rhea is talking about the best industries to get priority visa processing in Australia – namely, education and healthcare.

Understanding how the ministerial powers prioritise certain visa applications over others is where it all starts, and Rhea then goes into the details of jobs that are in demand, acronyms that you might come across (ANZSCO and AHPRA), as well as specific visa codes that may seem confusing.

The way that Rhea articulately lays out the different pathway options and considerations makes your job that much easier as you begin your migration research. You might well want to book a consultation anyway, but Rhea's advice is truly a great place to start.

"We would recommend that skills assessments should be done before you apply for the visa." ~ Rhea Fawole

  • Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity in a scenic country with great job prospects? Australia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and it’s also home to some of the best agriculture jobs.

In this week’s episode, Rhea is talking about how to come to Australia and work in the agriculture sector. She’s offering in-depth insight into the two types of working holiday visas on offer, as well as listing which countries qualify for which visa. This is on account of the different bilateral agreements that your country of origin has with regard to working in Australia.

There are options aplenty: from visa extensions that can see you paid to work in Australia for up to three years, through to shorter visa options if you are highly qualified — as well as the pathway to permanent residency in the land down under.

Rhea’s calm demeanor and immigration experience is eloquently conveyed in a digestible way that will surely save you time and headaches waiting in visa queues or taking the ‘potluck’ approach and relying on hearsay. Further consultation by appointment is also just a click away!

“The great thing about these visas in agriculture work is that you can complete four months of work on a farm — and you can apply for another twelve months on a working holiday. And you can do this twice after your first visa.” ~ Rhea Fawole
