Recent national headlines require us to have a different conversation (although these are conversations we should consistently consider having). Finley welcomes her lacrosse teammate Ashleigh Gundy '22 to share her personal experiences as a young Black woman and what true allies can commit to doing to combat racism.
There are many resources circulating the web for supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. You can sign petitions, contact representatives, donate to special funds, read from Black activists, watch educational films, and so much more. Here are two sources with extensive lists to do such:
tinyurl.com/blmforever blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/Furthermore, if you would like to directly connect with and support Cornell students, we recommend supporting WOC in Cornell Athletics and Cornell Students 4 Black Lives.
WOC in Cornell Athletics is a student organization seeking to foster community among varsity female athletes of color at Cornell University. Follow them on Instagram @wocca_cornell. Cornell Students 4 Black Lives is a Cornell Black student-led initiative backed by 180+ student organizations fighting for Black liberation.
