The term "analytics" tends to be fairly toxic in Philly. Guys like Nick Sirianni, Doug Pederson, Gabe Kapler, and Ruben Amaro Jr. in particular have all been pegged with the analytics moniker, mostly from a negative aspect.
The stereotype is the coach or manager sitting behind an iPad or a laptop to make decisions without having any thoughts of their own.
But the evolution of analytics and statistics are much deeper than that.
