Episode 30, and the final episode of Series Three is a rich and valuable one. I talk to Dancer, Mother and Nike Master Trainer Alex Hipwell and ask her all our fitness and nutrition questions. Alex shares her experience as a dancer and the way her view has changed now she is a qualified trainer. We share our own experiences with toxic eating habits and at times dangerous relationships with exercise.
Alex is so passionate to change this industry for the better and is so motivated to make sure qualified advice and guidance is on offer so dancers don't have to suffer because of these out dated opinions on our bodies. This is the episode to help you learn to love, respect and HONOUR your body, thank you so much Alex.

I was so excited to chat to Haley Monaghan and our conversation was one of my favourites. From Katy Perry to Dua Lipa she has danced on stages all over the world and her insight runs so deep and wide! What I love most about Haley is her passion and love for her work at The She Project UK, she endeavours to spread female empowerment as far as she can through her workshops. I was so inspired after chatting to her and it was a real deep dive into what it means to be a female in this industry. Thank you Haley.

This is a very special episode and one I take such pride in sharing with you all. Dr Lucie Clements is a Chartered Psychologist with expertise in supporting the well-being of people working within the performing arts industry. She shares practical tips, tricks and advice on how we mange and improve our mental health today. With Lucie's qualified insight we discuss big issues that effect dancers like anxiety, injury, body image, identity and many more. Hearing Lucie's words helped me tackle my day and I am so pleased to have created this episode where many more can hear her message and be able to access her help on demand.
Mental health in dancers is just as important as physical health and with more people like Lucie around we can really start to change the climate of the dance world to create a safer and more kind environment for everyone. Episode 12 features the fabulous and fantastic Leanne Cope. Leanne danced with The Royal Ballet for 12 years before she was plucked from the flock of swans in 2015 to star as the original Lise in Christopher Wheeldon's An American in Paris. From Broadway to Westend Leanne hasn't stopped performing and has rare and valuable insight on moving from Classical Ballet to Musical Theatre. She shares not only lessons from her ballet days but how she handled the transition from Corps de Ballet to a principle in a new musical 1000's of miles from home.
Leanne's honesty is touching and its so refreshing to be reminded that even our idols cry, get scared and have their body hang ups. Leanne's outlook on how she wants to teach is encouraging and exciting and gives me hope of positive change in the dance world.
