A few years ago I was a broke, university dropout, at 18 I built an industry leading social media marketing company, and at 27 I resigned as CEO. At 28 I co-founded Flight Story – a marketing and communications company, and thirdweb - a software platform, making it easy to build web3 applications. I then launched private equity fund, Flight Fund, to accelerate the next generation of European unicorns. During this time I decided to launch 'The Diary Of A CEO' podcast with the simple mission of providing an unfiltered journey into the remarkable stories and untold dimensions of the world’s most influential people, experts and thinkers. Thank you for listening.

Demarchoe Carpenter was only seventeen when he was wrongfully convicted of murder. He spent the next twenty-two years of his life trying to prove his innocence. His wrongful conviction isn't an isolated incident, but rather part of a larger systemic breakdown. Through Buried Alive: Demarchoe's story we hope to identify the systemic causes that ultimately led to his wrongful incarceration... and to use that knowledge to effect change.

The Break represents the gap between what you see as an ideal lifestyle and how you build a plan to actually get there. For me, Patricia Bright, this began in 2009 when I was creating beauty and fashion content for YouTube alongside being a student and working at an investment bank. After seven years I hit one million subscribers and learned a lot of financial lessons the hard way en route. So, in 2018 I founded my first company, The Break.
I founded this network for women like me, to demystify the journey to personal success and provide access to the tools and education needed to improve financial literacy and bridge the gap to our ideal lifestyles. Now, in 2023, The Break community is 500k+ strong. I was able to navigate the world of personal finance as a fashion-lover, parent and content creator because of open and honest conversations with my own network of family, friends and mentors.
This podcast is an open door to those conversations I’ve been having, so you can learn from the people that I look up to. In each episode expect to hear well-known voices delivering never heard before insights on success AND failure, as well as a level of honesty about personal development that you won’t get elsewhere. The Break will support you in learning, growing, navigating life like a boss, and making money move in the process.
Please subscribe, rate and review and if you like what you hear tell a friend to tell a friend. Watch the full video version on The Break YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/@The_Break and follow us on socials: https://www.instagram.com/thebreaksocial/ -
Inspirational women share advice on presenting and confidence, with comedian and writer Viv Groskop. Want to learn the secrets of brilliant public speaking? This is the place to hear personal experiences of wonderful women at the top of their game, as they talk all things power, presence and performance.
You’ll find lots of practical advice for developing great presentation skills, finding your voice and turbo-charging confidence. Not to mention the likes of Margaret Atwood, Professor Mary Beard and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. You’ll find words of wisdom from entrepreneurs and CEOs; award-winning writers, actors and activists; politicians and therapists. Check out the back catalogue: it’s an amazingly rich resource that’s built up since the podcast started in 2018, with Nigella Lawson as our first guest!
How to Own the Room is the brainchild of presenter Viv Groskop, an award-winning writer, comedian, broadcaster and performance coach. She switched from journalism to stand-up comedy in her late thirties and became fascinated by stereotypical ideas around women and performance. She passionately believes that being yourself in front of other people is a skill we can all master, to enrich our emotional and practical lives. She is one of the most sought-after speakers for stand-up, MCing, awards hosting and keynote speaking.
Viv’s best-selling ‘How to Own the Room: Women and the Art of Brilliant Speaking’ formed the basis for this podcast. Her other titles include 'Lift As You Climb: Women and the Art of Ambition’ and ‘Happy High Status: How to be Effortlessly Confident’.

Now in their brand new podcast, they want to share their own stories and those of listeners putting up with all sorts of nonsense in their places of work - whether that's offices, schools, factories or hospitals.
First up though, the podcast needs a name... -
