Well that was one of the more frustrating matches of the season and it wasn't (technically) a loss. The Seattle Sounders showed their usual prowess in possession vs Portland but they continue to have difficulty with the final blow. 16 shots, 6 on target and yet our single goal came from a set piece that found Yeimar's head (his first!). Rusnák provided the assist (not his first) while Jordan continues to struggle at being a #9.

The Seattle Sounders have been one of the hottest teams in MLS for weeks and that trend continued when they dominated the Vancouver Whitecaps thanks to a 3 goals to 1 exchange rate. Sounders then stay on the road and produced another clean sheet against the Colorado Rapids scoring 1 goal USD at altitude. Now, they aim to keep their momentum as they face the Portland Timbers in the final regular season match of 2025.

Sounders win 1-0 over visiting Houston in a key match as the Sounders target at least the 3rd seed in the West. With these 3 points they leap frog over Houston to the 5th seed while also getting some distance from Vancouver in who drew PDX 1-1 and now sit in 7th & 9th respectively.

June has been a month of dramatic results testing our cardiovascular resolve... The Sounders end the month 3-1-1 with another come-from-behind performance against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, June 29th. They went down 1-0 in the first half (a half that possibly could have been our most lack luster of the season). However, they came out in the 2nd a totally different team and win 2-1 at home.

Sounders advance to the round of 16 of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup in dramatic fashion! And that was probably the most dramatic match of 2024. We spent an hour fending off a Louisville City SC club that was swinging wildly and were up 2-0 at 63' thanks to goals by Rothrock (Georgi) and Musovksi (Leyva)... then it got nervy.
Louisville clawed back and tied it by the 89th leading to extra time and then our savior, our buff blonde, our stache betwixt the sticks... carried us to victory in penalties.
Now we invite Phoenix Rising to Starfire on May 22nd. Will Andy need to deliver us from near defeat again?

The Seattle Sounders get a win in a game that started in the past. A first half 3-0 lead shrunk to a 3-2 final against Philadelphia Union. Raul was the star and Obed get's his first official goal... but should he have been even on the field? This follows a loss against DC United that at first felt like a resurgent Sounders squad after a woeful start to 2024 then a Frei red card changed the game... but apparently that wasn't a red card. It's been a helluva week folks.
