You know what they say: "What happens in the lower decks, stays in the lower decks." Unless, of course, we're watching this particular episode. And the entire series of Star Trek: Lower Decks. Hmm, maybe what happens down in the lower decks doesn't actually stay there at all. Maybe those little background characters are secretly the most important characters in all of Star Trek. Or maybe not. I guess we'll find out in tonight's unique episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

It's fun going back and forth between TNG and DS9. Each week, you're getting a different flavor of Star Trek show. While they have their similarities, they're also quite different from each other. You might even call them parallels of each other. But whether you're more of TNG or DS9 fan, there's one constant between both camps: everyone loves Worf. So who cares which show it's from, let's just all sit down and enjoy this Worf episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Our podcast has been under siege by legendary Bajoran war hero Li Nalas for three episodes now. I'm not sure how much longer we can hold out. Who could ever hope to withstand the creative and thematic might of Li Nalas? Perhaps it's time to submit to his glory and declare him to be Star Trek's greatest character. Or maybe not. Either way, let's see if we can make it through this trilogy climaxing episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

As much as I wish we could say we have come full circle, we have only reached the middle part of this trilogy. Maybe I can instead say that we have reached the middle point of a triangle? Does that work? Cool, so we have reached the middle of point of a triangle with "The Circle." Wait, a circle isn't the middle point of triangle, how am I supposed to square that? Forget the shapes, let's just watch this middle-ing episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

As with many DS9 episodes, Kira gets to kick butt in this one. So does that make her The Homecoming Queen? She certainly is my book. Man, imagine taking Kira to the Homecoming Dance. That floor would get lit. Seriously though, Kira would no doubt be in a phaser fight by the end of the night, busting out all those Bajoran terrorist moves on her Cardassian oppressors trying to kill her right to party. Hopefully, she can put those moves to good use in this season opening episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Our podcast's descent of quality continues, eerily mirroring TNG's own descent of quality in its seventh and final season. Are Star Trek podcasts only as good as the Star Trek episodes they're covering? Are we Star Trek fans merely the sum total of our Star Trek discussions? Is Data's evil twin brother Lore still kind of mid? Learn the answer to these Trek-istential questions and more as we watch this Season Seven premiering episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Every podcast eventually experiences a rapid descent of quality and, whelp, here we are. But it's not our fault, we promise! It's TNG's fault! The show has been great so far, but once it heads into its seventh season, it begins its own descent of quality. Or does it? Find out for yourself as we watch this cliff-hanging episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

This isn't going to be the same thing as being in the hands of a priest, is it? Because if it is, no thanks. Or is this going to be more along the lines of being in the eyes of an angel? Because again, if it is, no thanks. I guess we'll find out as we watch this Season One finale of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Duets are great, but we like trios here on Star Trek Stories. So does that make us better than the episode we're reviewing today? If so, then oh boy, we might be one of the greatest Star Trek productions ever, as we're watching one of the all-time franchise greats this week. But we'll let you be the judge of that. Join us as we try to live up to our self-hype as we watch this classic episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Yes, we are making good progress with our podcast, thank you for asking. We've gotten into a really good groove at this point and we're feeling pretty confident. Nothing can stop our show now. Well, I mean, I suppose my house could burn down, and I could lose everything. That might stop us, but come on, what are the odds of that happening? By the way, did I tell you that Major Kira was planning on paying our show a visit? Let see if we make it out alive and un-scorched, as we watch this fire episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

The battle lines must be drawn here... this far, no further! Well, maybe a little further. This is definitely not going to be the last war episode of Star Trek. It's one of the franchise's favorite concepts to go back to over and over again. DS9, in particular, goes to that well several times over its run, to the point where it's a signature part of its identity. So let's see how they tackle it here in this early episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Is this the one where Alicia Silverstone plays Q? Is that a thing?--and if not, how can we make that train wreck happen? While we might be Alicia Silverstone-less in this episode, we're also Picard-less and TNG-less, which is fairly rare for a Q-ful episode. Let's see how the motley station crew handles our favorite omnipotent being in this crossover episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

What a sad podcast this would be if I were a man alone. Fortunately, I have Aaron to keep me company. Also keeping us company this week, we have Wes from The Pensky File! Yes, fellow Trek podcaster Wes is here to help us make sense of early DS9. Is this a new Star Trek series enjoying a strong start, or is this a show struggling to live up to its fantastic premiere? Let's find out as we watch this second episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Well, folks, we've finally made it to the best Star Trek series of them all, and we will hear no other opinions on the matter. Strangely though, for being the unabashed greatest of them all, this series is still fairly niche and doesn't get the attention it deserves. As a result, we have taken it upon ourselves to become the emissaries of this beloved show and spread its word to the world. Convert yourself to the truth as we watch this premiere episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
This is the beginning of Part Five of our 100 episode list, Venturing Out Into The Universe, in which we're examining how the Star Trek franchise has grown and changed over its history. In this chunk of episodes, we're going to be looking at Deep Space Nine & The End of TNG--that period of time when there was not one, but two Star Trek shows on at the same time! This will be a nineteen episode selection comprised of episodes from the First and Second Seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as well as episodes from the Sixth and Seventh Seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1993-94).
Episode discussion starts at 25:38.

Alright, y'all, it's the "one with the four lights." If you're a newbie, you probably blinked, shook your head, and said, "huh?" If you're a fan, you probably nodded your head in solemn understanding. Suffice it to say, we've come to another all-time classic in the franchise and, oh boy, what a doozy it is. So boil up some Taspar and hunker down for this famously torturous episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Tonight on Star Trek, the role of Captain will be played by Ronny Cox <crickets>. Oof, tough crowd. I get that Patrick Stewart is a tough act to follow, but come on, it's the guy from Robocop. Total Recall? Beverly Hills Cop? No? Oh well, hopefully the chain of command will keep us together in this polarizing episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
