Learning to forgive ourselves for things that have upset or hurt other people is important to remove feelings of guilt or shame. This is essential for us to move forward positively. Also, forgiving others who may have hurt us. We can also get caught up in guilt and shame and blame ourselves for what other people have done to us. This can affect how we feel about ourselves. We can make ourselves feel like bad people. We need to forgive them too to move forward.

What do we mean when we talk about 'affirmations'? I am.....can be the two most powerful words in the English Language.
Chris discusses how these can be either negative or positive and how we, and others, use them to shape our thinking.
All too often we negatively affirm things in our minds based on what others tell us, or we tell ourselves. We can believe them and they become who we are, we need to re-frame these and affirm all the positive affirmations in ourselves to become more positive.

Gratitude and appreciation helps bring the mind back to the present and away from thoughts of the past or future.
Sometimes our thoughts of the past can be painful or make us feel negative feelings. Similarly, thoughts of the future can make us anxious or worry causing us to worry about things that haven't happened or we think might happen. These thoughts bring us down or lower our mood,
If we are grateful and appreciate we focus on now, the present. We bring our awareness and attention back to positives and away from those negatives of the past and future.
