  • Since 2017, Mark Rogers has released a remarkable catalog of melodic Indie Pop/Folk Rock music.  In 2024, he will present his third and unmistakably, best album yet: “30 Minutes from Water Street”.
Mark Rogers demonstrates unique songwriting abilities with lyrical storylines that invite and compel the listener.  Although you’ll recognize his utilization of some of the best elements of California and British classic rock, Mark is far from a retro act.  His infectious chord changes and harmonies, while they may both surprise and ring familiar, serve as guideposts into some fairly diverse musical terrain.
Mark’s first two LP’s: 2019’s “Laying It Down” and 2021’s “Rhythm of the Roads” both debuted in the top-20 on the EuroAmericana chart and skimmed the top 100 on the US AMA.  His music has received wonderful reviews in “No Depression”; “Americana Highways”; “TheIndieSource”; “Lonesome Highways” and many more. His recordings have achieved worldwide radio airplay and have been added to scores of Spotify playlists.

  • Even before you get to his musical career, Gary Dranow has an exciting and impressive resume. A young equestrian turned Motocross champion, a clothing line entrepreneur turned mortgage broker, a renowned ski instructor, and an academy founder. Gary Dranow has undoubtedly grabbed life with both hands and squeezed a lot out of it.
It is something that is reflected in his approach to music, too. He has been playing in bands since the age of 12, when The New Invaderz saw him first tread the boards. Since then, he has been on a long and exciting musical journey, leading to, most recently, the album Destiny Road, which includes, amongst other subjects, songs about his experiences with Bipolar 1 Disorder.
Musically, he runs across the sonic spectrum with a freedom that few other artists allow themselves, making styles and sounds as eclectic as southern blues and rootsy restraints, heavy metal onslaughts, and understated balladry totally his own.
His current EP, Never Give Up, sits more in the middle ground of his sonic adventures, the perfect place from which to appreciate the quality and accessibility of his songwriting. The title track neatly blends rock and roots, Jimi’s Song is a lush celebration of his iconic hero, and Shimmering is a song that ebbs and flows between pop and a hard place. It’s the tip of the iceberg regarding his back catalogue, metaphorically speaking, but it is also the perfect place to first dip your toes in Gary Dranow’s sonic waters.
Gary is one of those rare artists whose wide and varied back catalogue offers something for everyone. Whether you like your music hard and heavy, understated and atmospheric, pop-aware and accessible, bluesy and blistering, or anything in between, you are assured to find not only something to like but songs to love.
And if you can’t find that in this vast and eclectic collection of his past and present songs, you may need to reassess your relationship with the musical art form.

  • A full throttle rock band, formed around the songwriting talents of Cyndi Dawson and Henry Seiz, this might just be their strongest material ever. They “really sunk their guts into it in a more vulnerable way and grew more introspective and insightful.”
The poetic lyrics are tales about finding your way in life and the context is semi-autobiographical using some artistic license. It is a moving CD, with 11 songs, including two covers.
Based in New Jersey, Cyndi Dawson and Henry Seiz have a longstanding partnership. She was a teenager when they first met and became friends. They front The Cynz and are the songwriters and composers. It’s no wonder their chemistry ignites audiences. Ultimately, the listener can expect a total sonic and cerebral experience.
The album is based on Cyndi’s preadult life when she was on her own, trying to stay safe in rather risky environments. At the age of 17, she started acting, dancing and modeling in NYC, all during a confusing, complicated time. Writing about the past gave Cyndi a chance to purge, and she found a sensitivity that was softer. She realized one can not move forward without coming to terms with some issues.
“What I love about this record is that we explored new directions musically and went to very new places lyrically. I probably let myself be the most vulnerable I've ever been on this record.” Cyndi Dawson
While the songwriters do not try to sound like anyone in particular, they realize that everyone who records has influences come through their music. Musically, Henry gave the album hints of The Byrds and sounds of the ‘80s.
“Crow Haired Boys” is a track completely about that era when Cyndi would frequent the clubs in NYC with her then-boyfriend. They would go to Danceteria, Palladium, etc. Then there are some real rockers on the record that probably were influenced by bands such as: Distillers, Joan Jett, Patti Smith, and X.
Recording took place at The House of Vibes in Highland Park, NJ. Producer Kurt Reil of The Grip Weeds was helpful in bringing out the best in the band and worked on most of the CD. The album is mixed in a way that Cyndi’s vocals are easily understood. You might find yourself singing along!
The band produced ‘Tell That Girl to Shut Up’, and Michael Giblin of ‘Split Squad’ produced ‘Narrow Hips’, co-produced ‘Room Without a View,’ and added some back up vocals.
The band features Cyndi (lead vocals), Henry (guitar), Dave U. Hall (bass), Mike Wretched (drums), and The Jelly Bricks’ Tommy Kristich (drums on ‘Room’ and ‘Narrow Hips.’) In addition, Jim Babjak of The Smithereens came to the studio and put some rockin' lead guitar and background bits on ‘Room.’
Cyndi is known as a visual on-stage tsunami. “She leads the band through shamanic rock and roll rights of passage. Her raw emotional stage presence along with the band’s edgy powerful vibe is truly an experience.”
“Our live shows are intensely energetic. There's a chemistry that moves me, a collective alchemy between our audiences and us. I like to be playful onstage and Henry goes into the guitar zone.” Cyndi Dawson

  • Tamar’s fourth full-length effort, Good Times for a Change, may well be her best yet, taking its name from the lyrics from her favorite Smiths’ song “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want.” That title might well serve as an apt summary of the new album’s themes, once more recorded in her home studio.
Tamar has been compared favorably to Liz Phair, Aimee Mann, Snail Mail, Phoebe Bridgers, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.
After Good Times for a Change comes out, Tamar will return to Chicago in September 2024 for a special concert with hometown group Material Issue/Material Reissue, returning to the place where she first emerged as a founding member of the groups Starball and Sweet Heat, releasing albums on notable indie labels Thick Records, Minty Fresh and Kill Rock Stars.

  • Celebrated singer-songwriter/producer John DeNicola turns sadness into tribute with his new single, “King of His Own World.” Motivated by the loss of a treasured friend and collaborator from back in the day, DeNicola sat at the piano, alone in his studio, to craft the tribute. Then he took it further, assembling a crew of amazing musicians to honor the spirit of a unique individual they all held dearly.
“A supremely talented singer, Tim Lawless was a formidable presence who did things his own way, but with positivity and humor that made everyone around him feel good,” DeNicola says. “I wanted to bring together some of the folks who valued Tim as a person and an artist to create something in his memory.”
The result is upbeat, horn-driven R&B/soul that sounds as fresh now as it might have in the Seventies— when DeNicola initially got blown away by his ninth-grade classmate’s impressive pipes. “The first thing I heard Tim sing was Stevie Wonder’s ‘My Cherie Amour,’ and even at that young age he was incredibly soulful,” DeNicola says. Naturally, the boys started a band, which evolved into a seven-piece combo called Sweetback by their college days. “Different ideas about how to move forward ultimately split us up, but with no hard feelings,” DeNicola says. “We still loved each other.”
By that point, DeNicola decided to back-burner performing to focus on writing. Soon enough, he’d co- written both mega-hits from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, “Hungry Eyes,” and “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life”—which earned him an Academy Award and a Grammy nomination. DeNicola progressed to pen tunes for likes of John Waite, discover up-and-comers (such as Kara’s Flowers, who later changed their name to Maroon 5) and launch indie label Omad, home to such diverse artists as Peter Lewis of Moby Grape fame and Robert LaRoche, former frontman of power-pop progenitors The Sighs.
It wasn’t until 2019 that DeNicola came full circle with his debut solo album, The Why Because. Two years later, he followed up with She Said, and this summer will see the release of another LP. On all his albums, DeNicola shines as a multi-instrumentalist while tapping the talents of players he’s built relationships with over the decades. While his new album will be no exception, this single is exceptional, since it features artists who knew and loved the “king” who sparked it.
The remarkable roster, in addition to DeNicola singing lead and playing piano, Wurlitzer, bass and congas, features four original Sweetback members
“Tim’s passing after a long illness was a sad surprise as his prognosis was good—we’d even spoken about getting together and working on music again,” DeNicola says. “After I wrote the song, I thought it would be great to have so many of his friends on it, and everyone was excited to do it.” The track also features background vocals by friend Donna Lee Maida and Tim’s sister, Chrissy Lawless. “Chrissy, a gifted vocalist in her own right, told me the sessions she did with her brother were the most fun she ever had singing,” DeNicola says.
The propulsive throwback sounds a bit like what would happen if Shuggie Otis sat in with Steely Dan. And while “King of His Own World” may be “about” a particular man, when DeNicola sings, “You can’t break the spirit of the one that’s running free,” you’ll likely smile and toast the cool, inimitable iconoclasts in your life, wherever they may be.

  • Paper Citizen is led by LA-based, Singapore born, singer-songwriter, violinist, guitarist, and music producer, Claire Gohst. Self-proclaimed “Indie-rock for a lost soul in a new world,” Paper Citizen blends crisp vocals with lyrical intimacy, spacious guitars, and organic rhythms for a sound that defies conventions.

At 17, Gohst was kicked out of her home when her strict, religious family found out she was queer. In an effort to find her own path, she dove into the Singaporean live music scene. After half a decade of honing her skills playing violin, and singing in bars, clubs, and restaurants, she realized she needed to grow to develop her musicality. With the opportunity of a scholarship and the promise of a new beginning, she moved to Boston to study jazz violin and recording arts at Berklee College of Music, an endeavor that sparked a love for songwriting, music production, and the palette of electric guitar. In pursuit of healing, with influences from spiritual, rock, alternative and electronic music, Paper Citizen was born.

Following a move to Los Angeles in 2019, Paper Citizen has been laying roots in the local music and queer scene playing dozens of shows across Southern California. On the horizon is their debut alternative rock album, combining both analog and digital recording technology and inspired from their favorite artists, such as Grimes, The Beatles, Metric, and Queens of The Stone Age.

  • The OddEven are an alternative metal band known for riff-oriented hard rock with a massive groove and hypnotic kick that will spin you around on your barstool and get you to your feet in a jam-packed arena. Similar to the way that Nikola Tesla and Leonardo Da Vinci said their inspiration came from somewhere beyond earth, Weed (bass) and E.T. (guitar) write the songs as if harnessing the power of divine intervention. Chris Volz handles the vocals with brilliant expertise, and Tosha Jones works her magic on drums. As for the origin story, we have the legal obligation here at Eclipse to inform our listening audience that the two founding members of The OddEven are, in fact, infamous secrets that the government has been hiding for years in reference to Hangar #3 on the grounds of Area 51. Originally, Weed and E.T. were found inside pressurized sleeping chambers in a strange pod-shaped craft that had crash landed near an opal mine in the south Nevada desert. The two aliens were composed of a crystallite substance with silver colored blood pulsing through semi-transparent veins. Weed was configured in the shape of a man-sized king cobra and E.T. resembled a mammoth two-headed scorpion. There were odd shaped medallions piled at the foot of each enclosure and odd-looking string instruments in the side compartments, indicating that the strange beings were both leaders of some alien warrior class as well as musicians, and they woke and communicated with each other, sounding vaguely like grunge guitars with someone twisting the tuning pegs. The two were then quickly transported to “Hangar #3” and caged in glass observation booths next to the bone saws, dissection scalpels, power drills, and rinse basins. On three nearby operating tables were the blood-spattered heads of other aliens stuck on trophy spikes and in sheet pans, and the next morning, January 1st, 2019, officers discovered that the new prisoners had vanished. Rumor has it that overnight the two outworlders broke containment and discovered the robotics lab, where they pilfered capsules containing nanobot technology that they used to redevelop themselves in human form, learning the history of earth’s rock and roll, every album ever made, every stream, every single, every YouTube video, review, and social media post. The mapping-ware was self-learning, and in seconds they were writing their own new chapter, developing their own sounds and souls, new musical journeys, and “post-prison-break” they reasoned that separation was the best tactic to cloak their strange presence in the new world. Slowly, they worked their way into new lives, into blissful forgetfulness, and it was only when Weed took a DNA test that he realized he had no DNA, that he had to wake up, and that he had to find E.T. to figure a way to deal with this broken and wonderful sea of humanity. • Tom “Satch” Kerans, the 2009 runner-up in the 92.5 The River Rising Star contest is a singer, songwriter and guitarist drawing on such influences as Tom Petty, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, and Barry and The Remains. The founder and front man of the Boston based band the Catalinas, he has opened shows for many national acts including Little Steven Van Zandt, NRBQ, Charlie Sexton and South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. In fact, Kerans opened a show for Roy Orbison four days before the legendary singer’s untimely death. Kerans has steadily garnered national and local press; David Mead, in the September October (2009) issue of American Songwriter, declared “Satch Kerans is doing his damndest to preserve what seems to have always worked: stories about people in conflict set to familiar melodies and arrangements... Kerans doesn’t stray too far from any previously beaten paths, but a certain authenticity in his delivery makes you like him for it all the more. You really wouldn’t want him to be any other way”. In a recent feature story that ran in the Boston Globe music critic Jonathan Perry wrote, “years after settling into an entirely different identity and new set of priorities - reemerges with some of the best songs he's ever written... nodded in sound and temperament to his longtime heroes Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, as well as ex-Dream Syndicate frontman Steve Wynn and Mark Knopfler. At the collection's core was a clutch of sturdy melodies and classic pop structures”. Kerans, who has garnered extensive airplay on Boston radio stations including WXRV (The River) WAAF and WUMB. is currently working on his fifth solo CD. Catch him at a venue near you! Kerans has released seven solo CD’s since disbanding the Catalinas including: “Elliot Street”; “Riverboys”; “Pieces”; “Wait, What” and “Snake Eyes”. His new single “Those Lies” is available at Bandcamp; DistroKid; itunes and most music platform. Here’s the video for the song “Absolutely No Sense Of Humor” (with Andy Dick): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFTpUgCCUzo Outside of music Andras is known as an actor from films like A Nightmare On Elm Stret 4: The Dream Master and TV shows like Saved By The Bell. He is the creator and host of The Radio8Ball Show where guests are invited to ask questions which are answered by picking songs at random and interpreting them like musical tarot cards. He is the host of The World Is Wrong Podcast, and the author of Accidental Initiations: In The Kabbalistic Tree of Olympia (from Sync Book Press). Andras performs the song “Crazy Captain Gunboat Willie” on the upcoming Lowell George tribute Long Distance Love from Flat Iron Records alongside artists like Elvis Costello, Ben Harper & Inara George, due to be released in March 2024. Walk the Whale is the brainchild of Logan and Parker, two long-time friends from music school who reconnected over a kindling desire to make good on their passions and get their music out in the world. Trained as cellists but comfortable on various instruments, what follows is a unique twist on the genres of alt-rock, folk, or any other style the pair find themselves in. Natural collaborators, the duo excels at songwriting, creating over 40 songs since starting the band in 2022. The burst of creativity established a workflow that allows Logan and Parker to move from song idea to demo in a few days. In this, the multi-instrumentalism of Walk the Whale shines, as every part is written and recorded by them. Outside of their collaboration, Walk the Whale has established itself as a ready-made band for other artists along the central coast. Their musical training gives them an edge in providing fresh arrangements for songs ranging from folk to hip-hop. The band’s vision is to create more than a great touring act but to use their training and penchant for collaborating to involve themselves with all parts of the recording industry. From session work and on-stage collaboration to professional songwriting, Walk the Whale fills a unique niche in the music world. That of professional players, easy to work with, that can deliver powerful original music, or arrangements for any song that comes their way. Host | Arwen Lewis Executive Producer | Jeremiah D. • THE MAYBIRDS is a Los Angeles-based rock band, formed in 2022 by George Adrian, Alex Locascio and Audrey Wiechman.
