"Obedience is greater than sacrifice...When you stay obedient to whatever it is that you're doing in life, there is no sacrifice, because even when you lose stuff, you gain so much more." Titus O'Neil
As we head into the Holiday season, Ryan, Fred, and Channing sit down for a conversation covering a unique life journey that set out seemingly destined for one thing but through some major pivots, turned into something one could never imagine. WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil, known away from wrestling as Thaddeus Bullard, takes the guys through his unlikely path from young boy dealing with traumas and confusion to his dream of playing in the NFL to a popular career as professional wrestler to ending up in the WWE Hall of Fame but marks his biggest achievement has been being a dad.
Going back to college days, Titus played with Fred at the University of Florida, as the two reminisce stories and funny moments of their playing days as he goes on to open up to the darker moments of his journey as he was raised by a single mother and shares unimaginable adversity when discovering how he was conceived. Most would crumble and give up or hide in shame and fear, but not Titus, he used his traumas to create a stronger foundation and formulate clear perspective on his faith, being resilient and finding his true purpose.
In this deeply personal conversation, Titus opens up about discovering the difficult truth of how he came into the world and how that shaped his mission in life. While football provided a way out of tough circumstances, his aspirations always went beyond the game. He talks about his determination to create a legacy and become the kind of father he never had, inspiring not only his own kids but everyone around him. Titus's perspective on turning life’s challenges into opportunities is both moving and motivating. Appreciating the wonders of the world that WWE afforded him while traveling country to country and amassing a global fanbase, Titus admits wrestling was one of the hardest things he had to do in life but also one of the most fulfilling.
Reflecting on fatherhood, Titus shares powerful testaments to his faith and credits his kids with saving him, giving him a reason to push through pain and not give up. A few years ago, Titus was named Celebrity Dad of The Year, something he takes great pride in being recognized as. Going through a divorce is always difficult, but especially in the public eye, as Ryan asks how he handled the grief and words of advice he could share with others embarking on difficult journeys. Deeply rooted in prayer and faith, Titus is a believer in grace, second chances and being able to pivot when life turns upside down on you and make the most of any opportunity by living a life of significance.
A truly inspiring conversation of reflection, hope and healing. Tap in now for a conversation we all can take something away from. Happy Holiday to you and yours from our Pivot Family.

"A lot of those kids watching me growing up...they saw so much hope when they saw me. So I was like, let me go feed my soul and complete the mission God put me here to do." Teddy Bridgewater coaching & winning High School State Championship On this episode of The Pivot Podcast, fresh off a huge milestone, Teddy Bridgewater sits with Ryan, Fred, and Channing to talk about his full circle journey—how a kid from Miami went to Louisville, paved the way for black quarterbacks becoming an NFL All Pro then after a decade in the league, returned to his old high school this season to coach the football team to a state championship. After 10 years in the NFL and enduring devastating injuries to come back and play in the league again, Teddy realized he had something bigger left to give the game he loves so much…which led him back to his hometown. Teddy’s not just shaping athletes; he’s inspiring an entire community, one game at a time. For Teddy, coaching isn’t just about X’s and O’s. It’s about giving back to the kids who grew up just like he did. He talks to the guys about what it means to help these boys grow into men on and off the field, build a culture of tough love but more importantly create an unbreakable bond of unity and belief in the community. The monumental moment of winning is a priceless feeling for Teddy, but now see says he’s ready to return to the NFL and show those same young men he coached, how passion and hard work can lead you to your biggest dreams. As the conversation continues, the guys get into the personal side of Teddy’s story—the moments that shaped him, the values that keep him grounded and how witnessing first-hand his mom’s strength during her toughest battle against breast cancer, is when he truly learned the power of prayer and resilience. Although Teddy keeps his life private, he isn’t shy about the lessons he’s learned from all the great coaches who influenced his life and inspired his journey. Teddy takes the time to open up about his bond with MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, another Louisville legend who credits Teddy as one of his biggest inspirations. For him, watching Lamar take the league by storm is more meaningful than he can put into words and he's proud to have been a role model for this next generation of quarterbacks. “When I saw that [Kendrick] line, I go, ‘well, that makes me a criminal then.’ Shoot, I’ve been talking about black women most of my career!” Gary Owen
A Pivot treat for you as we have an open discussion with Stand up comedian and actor Gary Owen, who brings his unfiltered humor and raw storytelling to the conversation with Ryan, Channing and Fred as he shares key moments along his journey to success that have shaped him in his daily life, the entertainment industry, his athlete encounters and how he became “black famous."
Gary walks the guys through his life path: from what it was like growing up on a farm and in a trailer park to joining the Navy to his biggest Pivot of deciding to pursue comedy and chase his dreams in Hollywood. Always being one to make people laugh on the spot, Owen talks about his time with the military, growing up in Ohio and details his long-love for black women and his rise in popularity amongst black community. Gary talks about recent comic beef and immersing himself in the cultural back and forth and music battles with a light heat and fun intentions.
Although it's always laughs and smiles with Gary, he sheds some light on the pain he felt from his divorce, hurting people he cares about and how part of his healing was being able to share lessons through laughter while on tours from city to city. Going through personal matters in the public eye is never easy but Gary opens up about the end of his marriage, owns his part in the situation, talks about his new relationship and focuses on how mending the hurt with his kids took time but is grateful for the progress which has enabled him to have somewhat of a blended family now.
From comedy tours to movie screens, Gary has carved a niche in entertainment working with everyone in the industry and thankful to Kevin Hart for opportunities that has helped sustain his success while trying to maintain his small-town demeanor despite having celebrity friends and running in same circles with athletes.
Gary and Channing trade comedic stories about meeting LeBron James at the urinal and Bill Parcells coaching while in the hot tub. Gary, a die-hard Cincinnati Bengals fan, who is mesmerized with the talents of Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, is like the rest of the sports world trying to figure out how one of the NFL's most potent offenses has a losing record. Don't let the orange and black fool you, Gary seems to have a unique relationship with the Pittsburgh Steelers too, dating back to meeting Ben Roethlisberger before he became Big Ben, and how he respects the organization from top to bottom, even with a sport crush on Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, especially after watching the new Hard Knocks episodes.
The guys wrap up with where Owen is at with his career now, what's next, his dream role and who he thinks is the king of comedy...Fred even gets him to make his 2025 prediction like Kat Williams, as Gary gives us a look inside to the world of comedians and how things really are despite what people think.

"Once I put those shoulder pads on...it was like I was going to war.” Andre Johnson
From The U to NFL Hall of Fame, on this episode of The Pivot Podcast, Ryan, Fred, and Channing sit down with seven-time Pro Bowler, one of the best wide receivers to play the game, the heart and soul of Houston Texans franchise: Andre Johnson.
As the Texans chase another AFC South title, Andre, who's still a big part of the organization today, takes us back to the beginning of his journey during expansion years and how he became the face of the franchise. From his early days as a young star at "The U" to dominating the NFL on Sundays, Andre shares what fueled his drive to make the Texans a team people respected. He opens up about his mindset on the field, where putting on those shoulder pads felt like preparing for war, and why he was so determined to make the city of Houston proud every single season.
The conversation gets personal as Andre reflects on his upbringing and how his strained relationship with his late father shaped the man-and father- he is today. He gets deep about the difficult choice he made to ultimately walk away from the game of football- a decision the guys understand all too well- but how he knew it was the right time because his mind was not in it anymore. Ryan has some jokes pretending to get a call from an old foe, as the guys reminisce his famous scuffle with Cortland Finnegan, which he says fans bring up to him everywhere he goes. While it's not his favorite topic, Andre shares what was really going through his head that day.
Getting his take on the current Texans team, the guys ask what it'll take to bring a championship mentality back to Houston and what kind of receiving yards he would have racked up with a quarterback like CJ Stroud under center. Andre weighs in on some big names, past present and future playmakers of the league like Antonio Brown, whose talent he admired despite the controversies, AJ Brown's frustrations and Travis Hunter, the young college star who's doing things you rarely see in this generation. And what's next for the Hall of Famer? Will we see him on the sidelines coaching? He's not quite there yet, though he admits it'll be on the horizon someday.
Andre's story is all about work ethic and legacy. Whether he's talking about the pride he takes in the Texans, the struggles of his short time with the Colts, or the mental toughness he adopted to make his game look effortless, and all his focus on off-the field ventures helping community and how giving back has helped him in more ways then he can share. With the holidays around the corner, never be too busy to take time to help others, you never know how a little help goes a long way. I aint dream of winning the Heisman, I dreamed of being #1.” Travis Hunter
Fresh off his Heisman nomination, Travis Hunter is sitting with Ryan, Channing and Fred opening up in a way you haven't heard before, touching on both personal and professional aspects of his life as he tries to navigate his fame, future, football and family life as everything seems to be falling into a place for the college football standout and this year’s top NFL draft prospect.
Travis Hunter, a young phenom taking the sports world by storm, says he is unlike any football player we’ve seen before, and it’s hard to argue against him right now. Hunter’s ability to play two positions at both wide receiver and cornerback has been under the microscope every step of his journey and Channing adds more fuel to the fire when he proposes a potential debacle that Travis may see himself in next year if he is forced to choose one side of the ball. Travis has dealt with the pressure that his ability brings on, the questions it raises and has leaned on those who have always been close to him to get him through all the challenges but in reality, there is no reason for Travis to answer critics because his on field play and talent speak for itself.
A large part of Travis’ success stems from the relationships he has forged and the people who continue to support him, especially his fiancee Leanna. Off the top, Travis takes time to clear the air about a video from after his final Colorado home game that went viral, explaining the depth of his relationship with Leanna and what the two have gone through from the start.
But the relationship he credits to his life forever changing is the one he has with his coach, Deion Sanders, as Travis reflects on his journey to greatness - from when he first met Coach Prime in high school, to committing to Jackson State to transferring to Colorado to now becoming a Heisman hopeful and the front runner for the top NFL top draft spot.
From that bond with Deion, a brotherhood between Travis and Deion’s son, Shedeur Sanders, was born and since has brought the best out of each of the young athletes. Travis shares how Shedeur and himself have been able to put their pride aside when they compete and gives insight on what it’s like to have two dogs go at it together and how grateful he is to both Shedeur and Shilo for allowing him to be so close to their father on this journey too. Travis, along with the Sanders’, has transformed college football from their impact with HBCU’s to elevating Colorado’s popularity to proving it’s ok to go against the grain to chase dreams and shake up the norm!
On the field, Travis is rewriting the standard, excelling as both a wide receiver and cornerback. With 14 touchdowns and four interceptions this season, he’s proving that he’s built to dominate on both sides of the ball. Determined to make history as a two-way player in the NFL, His confidence, paired with the unique bond he shares with Coach Prime, has landed him as one of the rare non-Quarterback Heisman finalists in the award’s history.
But what does winning the Heisman mean to Travis? More than just a trophy, it’s a milestone he wants to dedicate to his family, He said there will be some tears but just proof that the hard work and sacrifices are worth it as this is one step closer to Travis' true dream...to be drafted Number One overall in this year's NFL Draft.
Don’t miss this layered but conversation filled with laughs, humility and big dreams as Travis Hunter shares a side of him the world hasn't seen yet while on the verge making history. Tap in now and hit the subscribe button on YouTube and follow us on all audio platforms.

"Your response to adversity, negativity, rejection, are truly the moments in life that you grow...Growth comes when things are torn down and have to be rebuilt.” Ryan Clark
It’s Friday and your favorite trio is back for a special episode of The Pivot, to kick off the weekend with the fellas talking all the biggest headlines and storylines in sports this week and giving their perspective both personally and from their playing days as athletes in similar scenarios.
Ryan, Fred, and Channing start things off with this week’s episode of the first ever NFL in-season Hard Knocks, which gave an inside look to the famed AFC North division, the inner workings if each team and highlighted the true persona of figures like Coach Mike Tomlin, doing what he does best. Tomlin's leadership and ability to connect with his players has always been top-notch, but the world witnessed just how special his approach truly is. The biggest thing to shine through was how Tomlin handles bringing out the best in his players and inspiring positivity- which Ryan knows first hand from playing for Coach but the guys are impressed seeing 13-year veteran quarterback Russell Wilson interact with his new team. As Ryan says, Russell Wilson has "found his Russell Wilson" in Tomlin, which has solidified a new identity for the Steelers this season.
But the guys admit their favorite AFC North quarterback isn’t Wilson or the stellar play of Joe Burrow or 2x league MVP Lamar Jackson but its Browns star Jameis Winston. His outspoken faith and wholesome personality have made him fun to watch, a fan favorite and even more entertaining to hear, as we're all praying with him, to “deliver me from these pick-sixes!”)
Moving to the AFC south, Fred talks about being at the Jacksonville vs Houston game this past Sunday and witnessing in person the devastating hit on Jags Quarterback Trevor Lawrence by Aziz Al-Shaair as Ryan and Channing have strong opinions on the hit but more so on the three-game suspension.
With two former hard-hitters in Ryan and Channing, they both offer perspective on what it means to play hard but fair on defense while standing up for a player in the NFL brotherhood who’s been mislabeled. Ryan goes in deeper on the league's reaction and says it’s irresponsible to ostracize one of our own so harshly, especially when the demoralizing words come from a former player who used to be known for dirty hits.
Wrapping up the sports storylines, the guys take time to reflect on family, especially in light of heartbreaking tragedies like Trent Williams and Charvarius Ward losing their children. With so much focus on the 49ers disappointing season and key injuries, Ryan turns attention to the true devastation felt in the San Francisco locker room. The guys open up and get real about how athletes—no matter how much money, fame, or accolades they have—are just like everyone else when it comes to protecting their loved ones. Channing says there is no such thing as real life superhero’s…in an emotional conversation that reminds us of what really matters. The guys take a moment to share how as grown men, fathers and husbands, they acknowledge the lessons they still learn daily as Channing talks parenting teenagers, Fred talks emotional control and Ryan on how life continues to challenge us and forces us to grow through adversity.

"It really hurt...It was a toll on me. I'm not even gonna lie, I really hated the world." Gilbert Arenas
In a conversation covering more than just sports, this impactful discussion evolves into life lessons, reflections, advice for handling adverse situations and how finding closure is possible even when you can’t see the light in life’s darkest moments.
In our latest episode of The Pivot, three-time NBA All-Star, Gilbert "Agent Zero" Arenas sits down with Ryan, Fred, and Channing to open up about his upbringing, controversial career, personal struggles, climbing back from rock bottom, parenting and the future of the NBA.
Known for his raw honesty and larger-than-life personality, Arenas takes the guys through his journey, sharing Pivotal moments that shaped him, on and off the court: From the highs of his All-Star days to the lows of losing it all.
You’ve heard the stories and seen the headlines, now Gilbert is sharing his side and perspective from living it to reflecting on it. Gilbert is well aware how a split second decision changed it all for him and how something he didn’t intend to become a moment turned into an entire movement. Specifically, he explains the 2009 gun incident with then teammate, Javaris Crittenton, that changed both their basketball paths forever as Gil opens up on the one part of it, that he wishes he could take back.
He feels regret years later not just for derailing his own career but also for messing up a young player’s path, which he holds himself accountable for as well as the impact and toll it took on his own life. Gilbert keeps it real and speaks from the heart, hoping that his true feelings and thoughts continue to help others right their wrongs and alleviate the opportunity of making similar choices.
Whether it be public feuds, personal turmoil or career scandals, a media frenzy overshadowed Gilbert’s stellar play for most of his NBA time and the years following. He reminisces about studying Kobe Bryant, the night he scored 60 points against the icon and reveals the intricate moments of his game-plan that no one knew at the time. Humbling to his core, he opens up to Ryan, Fred, and Channing on the emotional toll life took on him, the grind to the top to his costly mistake and how depression pushed him to step away from the game he loved so much.
Going through a public divorce was not easy but, Gilbert emphasizes how being a father gives him purpose and clarity through the chaos, as he says one of the lessons he likes to share with his kids is to put them in situations they can fail so they learn how to survive and rise above tough times. His everyday approach to life stems from his upbringing and how he believed in better times by appreciating the little things and understanding the future his father strived to give him. Even when his father didn’t have the financial means, he still provided stability and support by never giving up and never walking away.
After having Kwame Brown on our show a year ago, the guys had to ask Gilbert what the real scenario between the two of them is and where it all stems from. Gilbert sets the record straight, from playoff drama to their current back and forth, he addresses the misconceptions and why he feels he became a scapegoat in Brown's story.
Channing and Fred ask Gilbert's take on LeBron and Bronny James, a topic he's been outspoken about, as Channing has made his thoughts abundantly clear recently while Fred and Ryan continue to share their overall feelings. To no surprise, Gilbert has some strong words for people critiquing Bronny and reminds everyone how rare it is to see what LeBron has accomplished.

"I didn't expect to be Donovan Mitchell...It all started with a dream on a boat."
Donovan Mitchell is making history this NBA season, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to unprecedented heights. With a record-breaking 15-game winning streak, the team is off to its best start in franchise history, surpassing even the heights of the LeBron era.
As the Cavs embark on this historical start to the season, the 5x NBA All Star sits down with Ryan, Fred, and Channing to unpack what’s fueling the Cavs’ dominance this season, shedding some insight on the team's mentality, lessons learned through past losses and what the future holds on this episode of The Pivot Podcast in partnership with Fanatics.
Mitchell highlights the team-first mentality instilled by Coach Atkinson, whose philosophy of playing with pace and building good habits has created a winning environment. While he understands the undefeated record won't last forever, Mitchell opens up about the unique chemistry in the Cleveland locker room, where egos are left at the door and players genuinely root for one another—a dynamic that Mitchell believes will help them achieve something special and push through times of adversity.
But basketball is just part of Mitchell’s story that we discuss in this conversation as the All Star reflects on personal milestones he's accomplished in his 28 years of life, from buying his mom a house to fulfilling a childhood dream to opening an athletic center at his alma mater hoping to inspire the next generation. In an emotional moment of reflection, Mitchell shares how his grandmother paved the way for him and his family to have the opportunity to turn big dreams into reality, never forgetting where he came from. He shares how growing up between a low-income neighborhood in NYC and the affluent Brewster Academy in Connecticut shaped his work ethic and exposed him to the world, teaching him the value of opportunity and harsh reality of culture and status.
The guys go back to Mitchell's college years where his pride in his roots and his admiration for fellow Louisville star, Lamar Jackson, as Mitchell's inspiration from the quarterback originated by him having a front row seat to Jackson's success and rise from an underestimated prospect to 2x NFL MVP. But with all the highs and accolades earned, Mitchell opens up about the lessons he’s learned from tough losses- especially during his time with the Utah Jazz- and how those moments have made him a stronger player and better leader. Now, as he steers the Cavs through a historic season, Mitchell is focused on leaving a legacy that extends beyond the court, using his platform to empower others and make a lasting impact.

"Every generation has an ism. The one we are living in now is extremism." Ryan Clark
On location in Dallas, Texas bringing you a conversation covering all the biggest headlines in sports, stories around the country and sharing our own experiences and outlooks getting through each day. Ryan, Channing, and Fred have lots to discuss ahead of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight on Netflix, from the weigh-in to the main event, the guys break down why this fight is such a cultural moment, blending two generations in a genius way. Jake Paul’s leap from influencer to fighter and his faceoff with the iconic Mike Tyson is bold—will Jake handle the heat of Iron Mike’s legendary power, especially after that face-off slap? And let’s not forget, no matter his age, Tyson is still Tyson, and one uppercut could end it all.
But the guys don't just chop it up about tonight's main event—there’s a ton of sports news for them to cover in this 3-Man Show, brought to you in partnership with Fanatics. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to be one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL draft, but his dad and head coach, Deion Sanders, revealed he plans to play a hand in ensuring his son lands in the right situation to shine. In a recent appearance on Speak, Coach Prime shared his intentions to get involved behind the scenes, sparking a spirited discussion from the guys. They weigh in on Deion’s parenting style, the balance of talent and opportunity, and the ever-present debate around nepotism in sports.
Speaking of legacy, Ryan, Fred, and Channing draw parallels to LeBron James and his son Bronny’s journey navigating the NBA and G-League. The pressure of living up to a legendary name and the spotlight that comes with it sparks a deeper discussion about what it really takes to succeed in professional sports. They keep it real about the fact that, at the end of the day, talent is the ultimate decider—and Bronny still has to prove himself ready to compete at the highest level. So where does he go from here?
The guys also touch on the aftermath of the recent election. While they don’t dive into the nitty-gritty of politics, they reflect on how they plan to make an impact in their communities and share lessons learned through their own journeys. "I played football to get a free education, I never thought I was gonna do what I did on the football field. But I knew that I was gonna ride that thing until the wheels fall off. " Justin Tuck
In this episode of The Pivot Podcast in partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Fred, and Channing host a wide-ranging conversation with former NFL Star Justin Tuck, as the two-time Super Bowl champion, Notre Dame Alumni and now, a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs opens up on making the ultimate pivot from professional football to financial guru, turning passion into purpose.
Justin, a man of many talents and layers, shares how he took his life from football to finance to fatherhood on a unique journey from a small town to the bright lights of New York City forging a path filled with championships, accolades and few regrets. Capitalizing on NFL fame to chase the high-stakes world of finance, Justin shares how he spent years building relationships and learning from the best in business, preparing for life after football even while he was still in the game. For him, the transition wasn’t easy, but it was a well planned pivot, from the day he stepped on campus at Notre Dame to playing in the Big Apple to Silicon Valley, all of his moves were centered around meeting the right people and making the most of each opportunity.
With one of the best football careers, the guys dive into Justin’s time with the Giants and the powerhouse defense he was a part of. Justin shares stories about playing along side of Giants legends like Osi Umenyiora and Michael Strahan, revealing how he learned by watching Strahan's every move—whether it was on the practice field or in the media spotlight he was always taking notes. Ryan asks about the career of QB Eli Manning, and whether Justin thinks Eli deserves to be a first ballot hall of famer this year as he shares first-hand insight on his opinion. Respecting the old school approach of Tom Coughlin and Steve Spagnuolo, who not only led the team to two titles, but helped instill a sense of discipline and determination off the field, Justin reflects on his years with the Giants and acknowledges the team may not have had all the flashiest players, but they played with a "brotherhood" that was unmatched: always competitive, never envious.
Justin’s story is still writing itself but the chapters continue as the foundation was built through planning, adaptability, and the power of mentorship. His life perspective is a reminder to young athletes not to let quick money- especially in the day-and-age of NIL- blind them to long-term opportunities. Grateful for the fame, fortune and memories, Justin can't pay it back so he continues to pay it forward by sharing details of his life's ups and downs hoping to impact others and help them become best versions of themselves. "I'm a living testament of a guy with PTSD who's been on the ledge, and I haven't let that stop me not only helping others, but getting to that point where I can help myself."
As we kick off Men's Mental Health month, we bring you a special conversation with 2x Super Bowl Champion and Chiefs star running back, Clyde Edwards-Helaire as he opens up and shares his traumatic but powerful story of tragedy and healing. This past summer, Clyde courageously shared his journey of PTSD, stemming from an unfortunate event in 2018 when he was forced to act in self-defense to protect himself and his best friend. That incident happened while he was playing for the LSU National Championship team, which Clyde describes as the best time of his life on the field and the worst year of his life away from the game.
On today's episode of the Pivot in partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Fred, and Channing sit down with Clyde to unpack the impact of that day and everything he’s been dealing with since—from the mental and physical toll of PTSD to how he’s coping and finding his way forward with help from the Kansas City Chiefs, specifically Coach Andy Reid and best friend teammate, Travis Kelce.
Clyde speaks candidly about the intense aftermath, describing a rollercoaster of emotions, hospitalizations, and a period when he only felt safe and like himself wearing his helmet on the field. That struggle to maintain normalcy away from football and the pressures he’s faced since that day have been challenging. He describes wrestling with guilt, constant turmoil and internal battles that trauma brings. Cleared of all legal charges, the split-second choice of being shot or pulling the trigger in defense is something that haunts him to this day: "It was either save my friend and myself or an outcome we may not be here to talk about today."
Struggling with the aftermath of that choice, understanding he did what he had to do, the star running back has tried to continue to move forward but Clyde confesses that when he started to question his purpose and became physically ill day after day. Despite being the first round pick and core part of the Chiefs Super Bowl winning teams of late, his mental health battle was no longer something he could hide which caused him to face the pain head on and seek the help he needed, even if that meant putting the game he loves aside.
One of the things that’s helped Clyde hold on is the support he’s received from people who truly care- like Coach Andy Reid and Travis Kelce. Reid has been a rock for him—giving him some of the biggest, most reassuring hugs and urging him to take the time he needs to get the help he needs now to set him up for a better future. Kelce, too, has been like a big brother, always by his side and lifting him up during his toughest moments. Their friendship, built over five years with the Chiefs, has become a vital part of Clyde’s journey. Having that kind of support has not only helped him heal but has also shown him how valuable it is to feel seen and supported through difficult times.
In talking to Ryan, Fred, and Channing, Clyde reflects on his path forward, recognizing that this experience is part of his story—one he hopes can help others facing similar struggles. He’s learning to find peace within himself, accepting that while the trauma will always be a part of him, it doesn’t have to define him. Clyde is committed to raising awareness about PTSD and mental health, hoping that by sharing his truth, he can offer encouragement to others who feel alone in their battles. His story reminds us that even our heroes—athletes we watch and cheer for—are human, with their own complex lives and personal journeys to healing. "When you got young guys and girls coming up underneath you, they want to take your spot, and they should. I want you to come in here and out work me...I want you to fight for it. But I'm gonna fight back."
Ahead of his big win at WWE Crown Jewel this weekend, wrestling icon Seth Rollins joined The Pivot Podcast in partnership with Fanatics to talk about his journey in wrestling, life outside the ring, the one thing that changed everything for him and his vision for the future. Although he's "closer to the end than the beginning" of his career, he's still as passionate as ever...and still dominates the sport. Rollins opens up to Ryan, Fred, and Channing all about his ambitions from being a kid, his relentless work ethic, and how fatherhood has given him a new purpose beyond the ring,
From a young age, Rollins had grit. He never considered a backup plan and refused to be outworked, having faith in his dreams and working towards his goals day in and day out. Known for his role as a "heel" in the ring, he admits that being the antagonist is both more fun and, in today’s world of social media, sometimes easier in the WWE universe. He emphasizes how crafting a memorable character is essential in WWE, and dives into the current characters in the modern league.
But Rollins' focus isn't all wrestling as it was throughout his life. Becoming a father has been pivotal for him, and he relates to the guys about being a girl dad alongside his badass WWE wife Becky Lynch. He shares how becoming a parent completely shifted his priorities and It took the pressure off of wrestling and put it on being the best dad he can be. But before his daughter...came his marriage, and he gets honest with us about how he got Lynch to fall in love with him and the beginning of their relationship.
While he's found love in other parts of his life, his passion for wrestling remains strong, and he takes pride in mentoring the next generation, teaching them tricks of the trade while still protecting his spot. He chops it up with the guys, telling unforgettable stories about sharing the ring with icons like the Rock, Roman Reigns, and John Cena, and his admiration for athletes like Brock Lesnar. And of course, Rollins talks all about the thrill of WrestleMania that doesn't get old (even if he is). For him, wrestling's a marathon, not a sprint—and that’s what keeps him coming back, year after year.

"Get back on the phone with Nike and you tell them next year, I'm bout to win MVP, I'm bout to take over the league, and if they don't re-sign me they're gonna look stupid." Jonquel Jones WNBA champion, NY Liberty Champion
Tap in for this week's Friday episode of the Pivot in partnership with Fanatics for a feel-good conversation of sports, triumph and transcension that you don't want to miss. Ryan, Fred, and Channing host the one and only Jonquel Jones, 2024 WNBA Finals MVP and newly crowned champion with the New York Liberty. Fresh off a nail-biting overtime win against the Minnesota Lynx, Jonquel talks with us about what it means to finally reach the top after years of grit and grind. She takes us behind the scenes of her incredible journey from being a Bahamas native to becoming one of the WNBA’s fiercest players, sharing how she's faced down defeat, overcome obstacles on and off the court, and stayed focused on the ultimate dream: a championship title.
Jonquel opens up on how the WNBA has transformed in recent years, from deep storytelling to the skyrocketing fan engagement that’s brought new life to the league. After 8 years in the league, JJ's experienced the evolution first hand, and gets candid about the struggles she and other players used to face, but now more than ever, people are tuning in to watch elite female athletes do what they do best. Beyond the stats and highlights, Jonquel is passionate about creating real change for the future of the game, hoping that one day players won’t have to go overseas to make a living like she has to, and can thrive right here in the United States.
Off the court, Jonquel is a leader through handling tough issues with humor and humility. JJ reflects on her journey of self-discovery, from embracing her authentic self as a proud Black-Lesbian woman to realizing her power as a role model for young players. She shares a series of pivotal and emotional moments, like standing courtside before the Finals game and soaking in the reality of the record-breaking crowd of 18,090 she was playing in front of-- memories that will always remind her just how far she's come.
And for sports fans, she dives into all her unfiltered thoughts on the WNBA- the good, the bad, and the ugly. From new talent like Caitlin Clark, the lack of platforms for players to tell their stories and get their flowers, and of course the future of women’s sports as a whole. JJ speaks honestly on how much she respects Caitlin's approach to the game, the women who play it and defends Caitlin specifically vs the amount of pressure she bears while trying to be herself too. Jones goes on to share what it truly means to live your truth in a world that doesn’t always understand. This episode is packed with honesty, inspiration, and the kind of wisdom only an MVP can bring! Tap in now, and be sure to subscribe to The Pivot Podcast.

"What I'm constantly trying to do is to expose people to how stuff works, and let them know that they have power and they have agency. Any person and any young man that I meet is...you have power. And the question is, how can you use it?"
Over two years ago when we set out to start The Pivot Podcast, We wanted it to be a platform for everyone and a place where ANYONE could come have a conversation and feel comfortable. We have been grateful to have hundreds of inspiring and impactful discussions over the years sitting with athletes, champions, A-list entertainers, musicians, comedians, business leaders and now the 44th President of The United States.
In a groundbreaking episode of The Pivot, in partnership with Fanatics, we're honored to welcome former President Barack Obama who shares his insight, experiences, and leadership which has inspired millions around the world. We reflect back on his journey to the White House and everything in between while listening to his words on life, politics, family, and the ever-evolving landscape of sports and society. The authenticity of our conversation is powerful, as President Obama opens up with candor, humor, and wisdom, reminding us why he's not only a transformative leader but also a man who’s navigated his life’s Pivots with heart and humility.
Ryan, Fred, and Channing open the episode chopping it up about sports with the Chicago fan. President Obama reflects on the evolution of Black quarterbacks in the NFL, noting how the game continues to adapt to the times and how instrumental it is that race doesn’t define these athletes as it once did. Obama shares how the NFL is often a mirror to society, embodying our advancements and the persistent need to challenge stereotypes. Just as the game of football has changed, he emphasizes how America has, too—but there’s still work to be done, and he challenges us all to keep pushing forward.
We also get a rare glimpse into his personal life behind the scenes, especially the role his family has played in keeping him grounded and providing perspective. Talking about his partnership with Michelle, he acknowledges how her unwavering support allowed him to tackle the relentless demands of the presidency while still being the father and husband he dreamt. From family dinners at the White House to raising his daughters with humility, President Obama shares heartfelt insight into the blending act between family and public service and how he aimed to give his kids as “normal” a childhood as possible, even under the global spotlight.
And with one of the most anticipated and crucial times in our country's history, Election Day is a week away on Tuesday, November 5, and the former president shares reflections on the importance of using our voice and our power, reminding us that our role as citizens is critical—whether it’s in voting or in staying informed about who’s truly looking out for our interests. Ryan asks why should people relate to his words and influence while Fred asks about the urgency of this election as a black man. President Obama’s response resonates in his message on every level as citizens, humans, family members, men and women of all races and religions setting the score of what's at stake for all of us, encouraging us to use our personal influence wisely, challenge assumptions, stay informed, and have empathy for all communities. Voting is our birthright, use it and understand we have power in our voice.
For us at The Pivot, this was more than just an interview; more than just a conversation and more than just a guest...it's a moment in time that showcases why we love doing what we do and why certain voices carry so much weight. Let's just say, if we had a "Mt. Rushmore" wish list of Pivot guests, we now have reached one of those monuments. Please comment, like and share this conversation and let us know what you think.

"I don't really believe in failing. I believe in just lessons, you learn from it and you move on...It's I got your back you got my back mentality, and I think it''s a beautiful thing we have right now and that's why you see me slowly starting to find my groove." Saquon Barkley Eagles Running Back
On this episode of The Pivot Podcast in partnership with Fanatics, Saquon Barkley gives a raw and personal look into his ups and downs through the NFL and life beyond the game. Pivot family, Saquon opens up to Ryan, Fred and Channing about the pressure of being in the spotlight, and how everything can be transformed into clickbait these days, shaping a narrative that doesn’t always reflect who he is-as seen with his most recent mic'd up viral moment against the NY Giants, a moment he wished stayed private but only shows more of who he really is at the core. Life in the public eye tends to be a lot, but for him, it’s all about staying focused on the bigger picture—his team, his work ethic, and staying true to himself.
Coming off the game against his former Giants team, the Eagles star player shares how the the Boo's in NY may have caught him off guard but only fueled his motivation and how he finds strength in moving forward, believing in his talent and staying true to his core. Saquon speaks on the power of self-confidence, but also how critical it is to look outside yourself and have a strong support system of family, friends, teammates, and coaches to steady his journey.
Despite an opportunity to break several rushing records, Saquon opted to sit out towards the end of the game to let younger guys get playing time and he reflects back on that choice sharing how he never wants a single moment to outweigh the mission and always moves with humility and a full heart. That humility was born out his family's openness to making mistakes, which gave Saquon the tools necessary to learn from his own.
Although he was on top of the football world this week, last month, he felt the pressures of Monday football, with a missed opportunity on a play he makes 10 out of 10 times, Saquon talks about bouncing back from that and the reaction from Quarterback Jalen Hurts and the entire vibe of Philadelphia's locker room. Ryan asks about the current relationship between the team and Head Coach Nick Sirianni in which Saquon responds in a way you wouldn't expect but even more reason to appreciate his authenticity and perspective. He gets honest with the guys on how his relationship with Siriani taught him to never judge a book by its cover, and he's truly an incredible coach and great listener with an open door policy that's seriously affected his game.
Being at the center of one of the NFL's biggest offseason sagas, Saquon takes us inside the real business of the league, where the fun of playing the game often meets the harsh reality of negotiations, contracts, and drama. He tells Ryan, Fred, and Chan his version of how the dealings in NY really played out and digging deep to find peace in his growth not to expose it all during the process but somberly shares how the reality of it can sometimes kill the spirit of the little kid in you who just wants to play the game. Saquon realizes how blessed he is to be healthy and doing what he loves as He breaks down the differences between New York and Philly- from the one thing he misses about the Giants and what he has bought into with the intensely passionate Philly fan base.
And of course, We couldn't let him go without asking about the league's current rusher and how he views the success of his fellow running back Derrick Henry...a wholesome but true competitor's response.

“How different would our world be if every single person played football and grew up in a damn locker room...” Rex Ryan current ESPN Analyst and former NFL Head Coach
We got a treat for you today...or as he would some say a God Dam Snack!
In today's episode of The Pivot Podcast in partnership with Fanatics, former NFL head coach Rex Ryan, filling in for Fred who’s away in London, joins Channing and Ryan for a conversation we never expected to be so in-depth and captivating.
An episode full of humor and humility, this discussion isn’t just a football fan’s dream but it’s one to tap into for anyone who’s a believer in people, overcoming struggles and fighting internal battles privately while maintaining a tough demeanor on the outside and never being afraid to go toe to toe with anyone.
Known for his brash personality, Rex Ryan has always unapologetically been himself which comes with a lot of highs and positives but behind the walls is a story and journey we can all learn from. From growing up in Canada with his mom to dealing with bullies at school to moving with his father Buddy one of the best defensive minds in NFL history to forging his own coaching legacy to being a dad, a husband and locker room leader, Rex opens up like never-before on all the chapters of his life and the ones still unwritten…
As the current NY Jets navigate team controversy, Rex takes us through some of the most pivotal moments for him as a man and head coach sharing never-before-heard football stories, defensive mind, motivational tactics, Hard Knocks moments and answering for some of his questionable choices. The one thing Channing wants to know is, why isn't he coaching now? An answer that may surprise you...
Having a little fun, Ryan gets Coach to explain some crazy comments he made about Channing back during Dolphins Jets rivalries as Rex peels back the layers of a three-decade-long coaching journey, recounting the highs of taking the Jets to the playoffs and the lingering regret of never winning a Super Bowl. He breaks down his unique coaching style, as seen on Hard Knocks, and emphasizes the importance of physicality and toughness on the field. Rex also shares a personal side of his story, talking about how growing up with dyslexia influenced his creative approach to the game and his ability to problem-solve as a coach.
Tackling some unwanted headlines over the years, Rex addresses his infamous private matters leaking publicly and doubles down on how even to this day he loves his wife's feet and isn't afraid to say it. As we wrap the episode, Ryan strikes a chord and the conversation turns emotional as Rex reflects on the pride he feels watching his son follow in his coaching footsteps, continuing the Ryan family legacy and reveals one regret that still weighs on him now.

"We need the OGs. We need people like us who went through it and had the ups and downs in the game that's gonna tell you the truth..."
This conversation is one we highly recommend as parents, athletes, coaches, those who have had the highest of highs and lowest of lows, and for people who feel they have failed at something and may have got lost in our purpose at one time and now look to forgive ourselves as we right the wrongs....We sit as men reflecting on tough times, regrets, learning from one another, accepting accountability and being able to apologize when we own up to things we could have said or done differently.
On this episode of The Pivot Podcast, apart of Fanatics, Ryan, Channing and Fred sit with former NFL star running back, the No. 3 overall pick in 2012 and Alabama legend Trent Richardson to talk about his football journey and respond to people who look at his career as a bust as we gain understanding inside the mindset of a young athlete and what went wrong: How did the NFL go from being a dream come true to football becoming a nightmare?
Trent shares his experiences growing up in a household with a single mother to becoming a young father at 16 while balancing being a star football player at Alabama and how it affected his NFL career. With high expectations as a player entering the league as a high draft pick and trusting people with his finances, Trent saw over $1.6M of his money unaccounted for quickly while dealing with an unguided start as a rookie. Trent was traded from Cleveland to Indianapolis without personal knowledge, only finding out on the radio and often criticized for not playing up to standards despite having decent numbers and breaking some rookie records.
Diving into his journey, Fred, who was seen as a mentor and idolized by the young running back at one time, talks through some of the struggles and misconceptions Trent dealt with. Trent opened up on the criticisms he faced while sharing how he felt his issues stemmed from not having the right tools to succeed and discussed the personal matters he was dealing with in private while trying to get his football career on track. Ryan and Trent share a powerful moment of accountability and forgiveness as RC shares how Trent taught him a lesson in analyzing sports after making a comment about his play in a way that Ryan wouldn't do today.
Being a good father and role model for young people today is something Trent prides himself in, admitting that having his kids is one thing that kept him going in the dark times. Opening a facility in Alabama and trying to be a voice for athletes to help them not make the same mistakes or fall into similar traps he did is Trent's mission today.
Tap into this episode of a story filled with obstacles and struggle but one that's important we hear as we navigate our lives today and influence young people along the way. We appreciate Trent opening up and trusting us with his journey, hoping to change lives by sharing.
