In this episode I sat down with Tobi Shinobi. Tobi has countless accolades to his credit including over 150K followers on Instagram, Sony Alpha Ambassador, Adobe Partner, and speaking engagements at Apple. He has done creative work for some of the most distinguished brands in the world (Nike, Adidas, Bose, & Moen just to name a few.) I've been a fan of his work for quite some time on Instagram so this one was special for me! Our conversation covered a wide variety of topics including how his career in employment law influences his creative work, his struggle with perfectionism, how understanding your why can help you define your voice, and how he was able to transition from lawyer to full-time photographer. Tobi drops an insane amount of knowledge for the burgeoning creator out there looking to level up, as well as practical advice for those of you looking to leap full on into a creative career. During our conversation it became evident that he is getting an itch to leap into yet another field with video and film. Where will his journey take him? If his past success is any indication, the sky's the limit. What is clear is that he is, as the US government has determined on his nonimmigrant visa, an alien of extraordinary ability, and this is his story.

This is episode 8 of the podcast and in this episode I sat down with G Krish. He's an aspiring singer-songwriter living in Chicago. I discovered him as I was scrolling through TikTok and his caption "I quit my corporate job 1 month ago" caught my attention. I immediately searched his name and DM'd him on Instagram. Not 24 hours later we recorded this show. In this hour we talk about how his plan has allowed him to feel nearly stress free as our world is dealing with COVID-19 despite leaving a 6 figure corporate job to pursue his passion for music. We touch on topics like holding yourself accountable and believing in yourself to the utmost degree. In episode 7 I sat down with Daniel Sadiq and we talked about what it took for him to leave his corporate job as a market researcher to start his own breakfast cafe with his wife in Elkhart Lake, WI. After recording this episode, I kept thinking about how accessible Daniel's story is and how relatable of a person he is. Daniel and his wife knew they had the ability to make great sandwiches, baked goods and coffee and they decided to run with it. In this episode I sit down with professional sports photographer Ross Dettman. Ross left behind a career as a mechanical engineer 27 years ago and has not looked back. His resume is one dreams are made of for any sports shooter. To date he has photographed 8 Superbowls with number 9 coming this year, The Final Four, worked with ESPN, and won a sports Emmy. If you're thinking about leaving your safe career Ross sheds light on how he was able to do just that with two young children, very little in savings, and a mortgage. In this episode I sit down with Jabi Sanz. Jabi is an amazing landscape photographer and that's how we started talking through Instagram. When I learned that he was born and raised in Spain but now lives in Thailand I became fascinated with his story. In this conversation we cover a range of topics like how he was able to start his own boutique hotel on the island of Ko Lipe without ever working in the hotel industry, the difficulties he had to overcome and how he discovered photography as his passion. He is now considering letting someone else take over his hotel so he can make another huge career transition into full time photography. In his words, "who don't risk, no gain." This is how Jabi Sanz is living his way.

Now after expending the time, money, and energy to pursue a career in medicine, imagine leaving it all to pursue photography. In this episode Tony Menias aka @beloveful tells his story of doing just that. After falling in love with photography while going on medical mission trips he realized he needed to make a change. What's up everyone!? This is a brief rundown of what to expect from this show. On average we spend a third of our lives working. Many dislike or even hate their job, but yet we continue to endure this way of life. According to a recent Forbes article, 53% of surveyed employees reported being unhappy in their current position. I, unlike most, actually like my current job, but I love picking up my camera and creating so I've still had this nagging curiosity about what it takes to leave a safe career to pursue a passion or side hustle. What better way to gain some insight than to interview people that have made this daring transition? Life is too short to spend it living for the weekend and the time has come to revolutionize the way we spend our working lives!
