Josh Gannet is a man of many talents. He is a producer, engineer, manager, just to name a few. Josh is Redman’s engineer and the engineer of “Wu-Tang the Saga Continues.” Therefore, I had a chance to chop it up with him about the project’s background and Josh’s part in the general warmth and tightness the album embodies.
I speak with Josh about his background being in a rock band to his humble beginnings in the music production engineering business. And Redman’s work ethic and production background. We then shift to a wide-ranging discussion about Josh’s approach to production/mixing and what it took to complete this project being on the road and working remotely. Finally, we wrap up with a discussion on the album’s reception and how “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin”’s influence on the latter.
Enjoy! And have a happy Thanksgiving!
