Tim Guerrette and Jeff Morse, North Collier Fire Battalion Chief, discuss The Brotherhood Ride and the upcoming stair climb fundraiser event used as way to remember those who were lost on 9/11/2001. There were 110 stories in each of the Twin Towers, so participants will have the opportunity to climb as our fallen heroes did.

Tim Guerrette interviews and steps into the captivating story of Captain Wayne Smith, a remarkable individual whose life has been marked by bravery, resilience, and remarkable achievements. In this gripping podcast, we take a deep dive into the incredible journey of Capt. Smith, from his combat missions over the skies of North Vietnam to his successful career and life in Naples.
On January 18, 1968, during his 90th combat mission, Capt. Smith's (then Lt.) fate took a dramatic turn. Forced to eject over North Vietnam, he showcased his exceptional skills as an aviator by shooting down a MIG-17 in aerial combat before his own aircraft was downed. Capt. Smith was immediately captured and held as a prisoner of war for an agonizing 1,882 days. Capt. Smith's unwavering determination guided him through the darkest days of captivity, until his long-awaited release in March 14, 1973, as part of Operation Homecoming.
Recovering from his injuries at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, Capt. Smith's commitment to service persisted. Leaving active duty on September 4, 1973, he joined the Pennsylvania Air National Guard for a year before eventually departing the reserves in 1976.
Transitioning to the corporate world, Capt. Smith's exemplary leadership and strategic acumen paved the way for a successful career beyond the cockpit. In 1999, he retired as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of MidAmerican Energy, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
Now a resident of Naples, Capt. Smith has earned a well-deserved retirement, at times, humbling conveying the memories of a life lived to the fullest. Wayne and his wife Lois can often be seen organizing or attending patriotic events honoring our military, public safety and Veterans.

Tim interviews Lewis "Lew" Merletti and takes a fascinating deep dive "inside" the United States Secret Service. Lew is a legend who loves Naples, Florida and now calls it home!
Lew Merletti started his career with the U.S. Military, serving in the United States Army Special Forces including a tour of duty with the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam. Among the citations he earned were the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Medical Badge and Parachute Jump Wings.
A 25 year veteran of the United States Secret Service, Merletti served as the agency’s 19th Director. Before becoming Director of the Secret Service Merletti served as assistant director in the Office of Training for all Secret Service employees. He served in the Presidential Protective Division under Presidents Reagan, H.W. Bush, and Clinton, and was named as the Special Agent in Charge of Presidential Protective Division (PPD), the 22nd agent to hold that position in the history of the Secret Service dating back to 1865. As the Special Agent in Charge of PPD he was ultimately responsible for the physical security of the President and First Family.

Tim McBride is the author of "Saltwater Cowboy" and a former drug smuggler. He was born and raised in the Florida Keys, where he worked as a fisherman before becoming involved in the drug trade. McBride was a key player in the marijuana smuggling industry in the 1980s, using speedboats to transport drugs from Colombia to the United States.
After being arrested and serving time in prison, McBride turned his life around and became a successful businessman. He now uses his experiences to educate others about the dangers of the drug trade and the importance of making positive choices.
McBride's personal journey is a testament to the power of redemption and the ability of individuals to change their lives for the better. His story also sheds light on the economic and social factors that can drive individuals to participate in illegal activities, and the challenges that individuals face when trying to leave the drug trade behind.
