Born and raised in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hemon’s prior work has been selected as New York Times Notable Book, New York Magazine’s No. 1 Book of the Year, and finalist for the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle. He is Professor of Creative Writing at Princeton University, a MacArthur "Genius Grant" recipient, co-writer of The Matrix Resurrections, four novels, and other fiction and non-fiction works.

He served as Moscow bureau chief for CBS News at the height of the Cold War, anchored NBC’s Meet The Press, was founding director of Harvard’s Shorenstein Center on Press, Politics and Public Policy, and is a Senior Fellow at Brookings.
