This episode we feature an interview between myself and Ofer Yardeni from an event held by the Real Estate Lenders Association. Ofer is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stonehenge NYC. Stonehenge, owns a portfolio of properties in Manhattan valued at approximately $1.9 billion comprised of 19 income-producing properties with 2,800 apartments representing 2.9 million square feet of prime real estate. This is our second time having Ofer on the show and we welcome him back.
Ofer is an expert on integrating technology into property management. Stonehenge was one of the first real estate firms to invest in and implement Salesforce and AI into their operations. In 2021, tech is more important than ever, as it allowed Stonehenge to continue signing leases even at the beginning of lockdown. We also cover other clever ways in which Ofer adjusted his property management strategy in response to the pandemic, and how he used his experience spanning back to to the 90’s to inform his decisions.

Alchemy Ventures has been directly responsible for the acquisition, financing and repositioning of over 25 buildings in Brooklyn, all within the last four years. The portfolio is valued in excess of $125,000,000.
I thought to have Sam on the show as he was one of the most active buyers in NYC in 2020. One of the most common questions investors are asking today is: “who is buying NYC?”...Sam and I discuss his answer to that question and the positive and negative issues surrounding that topic.
Prior to founding Alchemy Ventures, Sam cut his teeth in the NYC marketplace as an investment sales broker and then transitioned that knowledge to the principal side of the business.

On this quick episode of Behind the Bricks myself, Joe Koicim, Shaun Riney, and Seth Glasser share our third update in our series of conversations on the impact of the Coronavirus on the New York City multifamily market.
