  • Welcome to the Cancelled courtroom!

The O.C was an iconic TV show with three wealthy main characters: Marissa, Summer, Seth and troubled youth Ryan. Seth/Adam Brody was apparently just as focused on set as a sloth in a hammock (sorry if we've offended any sloths).

The show ran from 2003-2007 but creators probably should've given up after season three when, SPOILER ALERT: Marissa died in a very dramatic scene that probably still makes you cry.

Did they kill her off because she was the worst? Should they instead have taken out her mum Julie Cooper-Nichol-Bullet-Roberts-Atwood-Cooper? She was a legitimate predator.

Normally we look into silly celebrity crimes but some of these scenes felt a little illegal.
We're investigating all the weird storylines: constant near-death experiences, a gay dad and a bisexual bartender. Gasp! Plus, the real life drama was just as wild.

And of course we have more of your lazy gewl stories.

  • This episode of 'No Filter,' hosted by Mia Freedman will help you have better relationships - and understand the bad ones you’ve had in the past - or might still be having.

Because the origin of every relationship we have is our attachment style, and knowing what yours is and how that affects how you interact with people and the romantic partners you choose can be a game-changer.

Mia talks to clinical psychologist and attachment theory expert, Dr. Morgan Anderson, about all things attachment styles and so much more, like: what exactly is the “ick”, what is breadcrumbing, and why we tend to be attracted to people who may not be so good for us.

  • We've all faced those biting comments about our looks or how we act, and we often let those words affect us, even though they shouldn’t.

Lucinda Price, AKA Froomes, grew up convinced that to fit in with the 'right' crowd, she had to be hot. Back then, certain traits were seen as the ultimate beauty standard, leading her to believe she had to change parts of herself to be accepted.

In this episode, Froomes—who’s an author, comedian, broadcaster, and internet personality—sits down with Clare to chat about the unrealistic beauty standards we’ve all faced and how they’ve affected her and so many other women. This episode isn’t just about happiness, it’s also about self-acceptance and navigating the challenges that come with it.

So, after working to overcome so much and be comfortable in her own skin, is Froomes happy? Let’s find out.

  • This is the first But Are You Happy interview that made Clare a little nervous...in a good way. Because saying the quiet part out loud can be risky...but it's also where great ideas are born, where creativity flourishes, and where authenticity lives: all things that matter a lot to Tim Minchin.

In this conversation, we get a glimpse of a different side of Tim as he reflects on the highs and lows of his success. He talks about why compliments don’t sit well with him, the fakery in the performance industry, and the dehumanisation that comes with internet pile-ons.

He and Clare also explore the struggle of deciding whether to speak your mind or keep quiet.

  • We’ve all had that experience of working hard to achieve “the thing”—the big dream. Rejection is part of the journey, but when you finally reach that goal...it’s a feeling like no other - or at least, it should be, right? Turns out it's more complicated than that.

Amy Shark knows this all too well. After a decade of trying to break into the music scene, her hit song "Adore" landed her a deal with a major record label. Suddenly, she was in the spotlight, winning ARIA Awards and making appearances on late-night TV—everyone knew her name.

In this conversation, Amy chats with Clare Stephens about the reality of fame and how we can all be a little happier.

  • Failure is something we all face at some point—whether it’s a big setback or a small disappointment. After losing his boxing match at the Paris Olympics, Harry Garside felt like he had failed the entire country of Australia.

Mamamia acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Land we have recorded this podcast on, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
