What is a good parent? Is there different demands or expectations on us as parents when we are depressed?
In this episode I explore depression both from the child and the parent perspective.
Good parenting has a lot of presence, authenticity, honesty and transparency in it as I see it, and I explore ways how to be all that when we are depressed.
I think it's time to realize that depression is more common than cancer and what our children have experienced now during the pandemic can actually reduce our fear and stigma around depression.
Let's talk about it!

If the vaccine is the quick fix, what is the long term solution?
To live well.
Stress and anxiety suppress our immune system, and the best way to fight Covid, or rather, to handle and cope with it, is to strengthen our overall health.
A good mental, physical and emotional health makes us less vulnerable, moves us out of risk groups and prepares us for an eventual life crises.

DISCLAIMER 1: The sound is not perfect!
DISCLAIMER 2: These are my personal standing points
In Todays episode I share where I stand in the vaccine mandate situation and what forcing people against their will does to them.
Covid is a proof of how trauma, fear, stress and anxiety supresses our immune system, and to violate people when they have a firm NO inside is abuse.
If you have a big YES to the vaccine, take it, and respect the ones who has a big NO inside. Don't push their boundaries, as this causes major stress and trauma. Be kind. See the other side. Walk the talk you teach your children.
Listen and share with the ones you feel need to listen.

In this episode I inquire into our ability to feel joy for life when we lose people we love. For every loss, do we change inside, does something essential become affected, or do we still have the same capability to feel joy for life without these people? Our "normal" assumption is that someone else will come along and we will be happy again, but is that true? Can we feel the same amount of joy for life, to be alive, with separation happening?

In this episode I explore the massive attacks I've been under during the last two months on social media and the freedom of speech. I also dive into how we project our own pain onto other people, to avoid looking inside ourselves.

Happy Ceasefire Day and Happy Podcast Day! 🎉 Do we have a responsibility to the world to show up as our selves? What is the price we pay for putting up a show? And what happens when the real in us is exposed? In today’s episode I explore our responsibility to be authentic, especially when we have a gift or a following. I also look into the imposter syndrome and what the effect this has on us. My conclusion is that if I am myself with you, I am more safe, more relaxed, less afraid. If I pretend to be bigger or better than I am, I’m at risk all the time.Go listen, From Darkness to light, link in my bio. And I look forward to your feet as always.I love you. 💛P.S. I’m so happy for the ceasefire. 🇮🇱 🇵🇸 #podcast #fromdarknesstolight #50andfabulous #love

Ageism is as present as racism and sexism, it's time for a change. In my new episode I turn 9 judgements and/or fears about ageing into an advantage, or I at least question their truth. What if the fear of getting old has more to do about the present moment and or level of happiness and self-love today, than of getting old? The definition of a midlife crises:"Midlife crisis refers to a phase in a middle-aged person's life (usually between the ages of 35 to 65) wherein they feel compelled to face and/or reevaluate their mortality, confidence, identity, and accomplishments." #ageing #ageism #midlifecrises #podcast #fromdarknesstolight

Today’s episode is about social media addiction and the effect Clubhouse has had för me. After four weeks on Clubhouse, I feel stressed, drained, hung over and a bit depressed. I’m not the person who hangs out on social media 24/7, but with Clubhouse I made an exception, I felt this was “my platform”.Finally, voice, the spoken word, real conversations and no longer a written monologue! Link in my bio, From Darkness to Light, available where you normally listen to podcasts, the episode is called Social Media Addiction - Clubhouse. I will follow up the podcast with a room for sharing and reflection probably tomorrow, on Clubhouse of course…! So if you are on Clubhouse and would like to have an honest talk about what Social Media does to us, join me. Love you! #clubhouse #addict # socialmediaaddiction #podcast #fromdarknesstolight #sharingswithshama

Maybe the level of self-esteem and self-love we have today is ok? Maybe we don't need to adjust it, strive to increase it, just embrace ourselves and accept that it is what it is, today. Tomorrow is a different story.
New episode of my podcast is out where I share 3 major insights around self-esteem and self-love, available where you normally listen to podcasts.

What if Corona isn't a curse, but a guide to healing? Did you ever consider why children are unaffected and why some of us get extremely ill? Why doesn't the virus treat as equally, why does it distinguish between blood types and underlying conditions? What i the virus actually is a sign, a guide that points to a weak spot or area inside us? Maybe it's a clue that we have some healing inside to do.
Listen to my latest episode around Corona and healing and how we can prepare our physical and emotional beings to better sustain and manage catching COVID-19.

We live in a world where everything is a race, something to accomplish or show. Money, power, looks, success, happiness, even love is something we show as if it's a price on social media. This can never be the purpose of our lives, to become or earn or win against each other. The meaning of life must be the opposite, to be here for each other, without demands and conditions. Just being, together. Listen to my new episode today.

If we would heal, would we then be able to feel and communicate with each other the way we do? Isn't the wounds and traumas what makes us the most vulnerable and the most human? That make us open up or shut down the most? What if to become whole isn't the goal, but to learn to live and enjoy our wounds as a way of communication?

In todays episode I share about the importance of giving in life in relationship to childhood traumas. When connection is broken, it's not only what we didn't receive as children that we're missing, it's also the giving of love, care and support. Thankfully we can project this missing part into other paternal or maternal figures in our lives, once the part that was unfulfilled in us is fulfilled.

Suicide is like a minority, a discriminated cause of death. We've learned that it's all us priviledged people who need to stand up for black lives and fight racism, and it's the same with mental health. To fight for your life when you are struggling, instead of getting the support from a helping hand is different. Just like the one's who's never been discriminated must take action, the ones who've never suffered from mental illness must take action. It's not ok to say it doesn't concern me because I don't suffer from it. We see an increase in suicides in young girls age 15-24 and in today's episode I talk a lot about puberty and how important it is that we step in as parents with greater support these sensitive year going from being a child into being a young adult.

How many times do we find ourselves drawn into someone else's drama, because of their bad behaviour or judgement? This is the root of being codependent, you engage in someone else's life and put their problems and issues first and you second. We didn't ask to be let down, dissapointed or lied to, and we didn't ask for all the consequences that come together with this. In this episode I share about disengaging and not participaing, and by doing so, no longer being an enabler. The result is more peace, joy and freedom.

It seems as if lying is part of our personality, we all lie to some extent. White lies, big lies, hidden agendas, twisting facts, covering up. How did we become like this? Listen to my exploration of the connection between birth and death, fear and love, parents and children and why lying has become almost natural to us. We lie in order to protect ourselves or others, the question is, is it ever right?#fromdarknesstolight #podcast #sharingswithshama #love #fear

Sometimes the dynamic in the family changes in an unhealthy way, and the child becomes the parent and the parent becomes the child. Out of guilt a parent can become a victim, and the child takes the place as the superior in the family. This interferes with the dynamic and makes the natural flow of love and affection impossible. Listen how this can play using my own present life as example, and what can be done to shift the relationship into a more healthy one.
