  • Most managers think they’re leading. But are they really?

In this episode of Keep The Change, I sit down with Kyle Disher, the founder of Rev Dojo, to pull back the curtain on why so many managers struggle to build winning teams—and the small shifts that separate the great from the average.

Kyle’s been in the trenches. He started selling cars at 18 years old, got thrown into management at 19, and has spent the last two decades training some of the top-performing dealerships in the country. He knows exactly what it takes to turn struggling teams into powerhouses—and what holds so many managers back.

    We cover:

The #1 reason why some managers fail to lead their team effectively How Kyle went from being a terrible car salesman at 18 years old to leading one of the most successful training organizations in the business The dangerous trap that keeps sales teams stuck in mediocrity What dealerships can learn from offshore call centers (this one will surprise you!) Why sticking to a process beats raw talent every time

If you’re a GM, sales manager, or even an ambitious salesperson who’s tired of spinning your wheels, this episode is packed with game-changing insights you can start using today.

  • Be honest—who’s actually training your managers?

It’s day two at NADA, and after countless conversations with dealers, one thing is crystal clear: everyone is looking for more efficiency. More efficiency in marketing, more efficiency in operations, more efficiency in training.

But here’s the problem: you can add 100 new tools to your dealership, but if you don’t activate your managers, nothing is going to change.

I’ve been in this industry long enough to see the same cycle repeat itself. We spend hundreds of thousands training salespeople, expecting them to be the ones who transform the business. But then what happens?

They go back to the floor, ready to implement what they learned… and their manager says, Nah, we don’t do it that way here.

    Game over.

We’re stuck in a cycle of training salespeople while completely ignoring the real key to success—our managers. The ones responsible for activating the team, setting the culture, and making sure the training actually sticks.

And if this hits home for you, let’s talk. Email me at [email protected] or DM me. No pitch, no fluff—just a real conversation about how to build the kind of dealership that actually wins.

  • Hey friends, welcome back to another epsiode, and let me tell you—this episode is one you’re gonna want to buckle up for. We're diving deep into something that’s been on my mind (and probably yours too): self-discipline. Yeah, I said it. The D-word.

But here’s the deal—it’s not about waking up at 4 AM and eating protein powder for breakfast. Nope. It’s about those tiny promises we make to ourselves every single day… and whether or not we actually keep them.

Ever said, “I’m hitting the gym tomorrow”… and then didn’t?Or, “I’m sticking to this diet”... while holding a donut? 🍩Or how about, “I’m calling those 20 clients today”… and somehow ended up reorganizing your sock drawer instead?

Yeah, we’ve all been there. And let me tell you—it’s not just about breaking promises. It’s about what those broken promises do to your self-image.

In this episode, we’ll chat about:

Why self-discipline isn’t punishment—it’s actually freedom. How asking “Did I do my best today?” might be the most powerful question you ask yourself. The sneaky little ways habits become either your greatest ally… or your biggest enemy.

Plus, I’m sharing insights from 75 Hard, lessons from John Maxwell, and a little real talk about how discipline builds the bridge between good intentions and actual results.

This isn’t a lecture—it’s a conversation. And if you’ve ever found yourself saying, “This year will be different,” then friend, this episode is for YOU.

So hit play, lean in, and let’s figure out how to stop lying to ourselves about our goals—and start showing up like the leaders we know we can be.

👉 Let me know your biggest takeaway—I’d love to hear from you.

  • Hey there, keep the changers! Welcome to the final Keep the Change episode of 2024. Man, can you believe we’re already here? It feels like this year flew by, and now we’re staring straight into 2025.

Before we jump into the new year—I wanted to hit pause with you. You know, this time of year always makes me stop and ask myself some big questions. Not just about goals and plans (yeah, I’ve got those too), but about me—who I am as a leader, a husband, a friend...a human.

Tony Robbins says, “The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your questions.” And I believe that with everything in me. So today, I’m sharing some of the questions I’ve been asking myself lately. They’re simple, but man, they pack a punch if you lean into them.

And yeah, we’ll get real about faith too—because for me, that’s been such a big part of my growth this year. If that’s not your thing, that’s totally okay. But if it is—or if you’re even just a little curious—stick with me.

Here’s the thing: leadership isn’t about being the smartest person in the room. It’s about being real. Being present. Asking good questions and listening—really listening—to the answers.

So grab your coffee, take a breath, and let’s unpack this together. I’m sharing some of the questions that have made the biggest difference for me this year, and I hope they’ll do the same for you.

Oh—and if something I said today hits home, shoot me an email at [email protected]. I’d love to hear your thoughts, your reflections, or just how you’re doing as we head into the new year.

Alright, let’s dive in. Here’s to closing out 2024 strong and stepping into 2025 with intention, purpose, and a whole lot of heart.

  • Alright, keep the changers, let me just say… you’re going to want to buckle up for this one because this episode of Keep the Change is nothing short of legendary. And by “legendary,” I mean you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you might just rethink how you’re showing up in your life and leadership.

This week, I’m sitting down with Bruce Miller—someone who could write the book on perseverance (seriously). If you don’t know Bruce, here’s the quick 411: Bruce isn’t just your average guest. Nope. He’s a leader, a fighter, a human bulldozer of positivity, and someone who’s lived through challenges most of us can’t even imagine. We’re talking overcoming a tough upbringing, crushing it in the car biz, and leading teams with a perfect balance of "drill sergeant meets life coach." Oh, and did I mention? He’s been living with terminal cancer for over a decade and STILL manages to attack life with the energy of a thousand Red Bulls.

And let me tell you, his “all gas, no brakes” mindset is going to leave you inspired, fired up, and maybe questioning if you’ve been hitting snooze on your potential.

Because if there’s one thing Bruce reminds us, it’s this: life’s challenges don’t define us—how we rise above them does.

  • Let me ask you something. Have you ever felt like there’s a gap between who you want to be as a leader and what you’re actually doing day-to-day? Or maybe you’re just looking for ways to connect more deeply with the people you lead—at work, in life, or anywhere in between?

If that’s you, this episode is exactly what you need.

I sat down with my buddy Joe Trasser, and let me tell you, this guy has a perspective that will challenge and inspire you. Joe runs Arizona BioCleaning, dealing with the kind of work most of us never think about—cleaning up after crime scenes, hoarding situations, and even drug remediation. It’s heavy stuff, but here’s the thing: Joe isn’t just cleaning spaces; he’s helping people rebuild their lives.

In this episode, we didn’t just talk about business; we got real about leadership—what it means to truly show up for your people. Joe shared stories that had me nodding along like, "Yep, I’ve been there," and insights that’ll make you rethink how you lead, whether you’re running a business, a team, or even your own household.

Here’s why you’ll love this one:

Joe breaks down how authenticity is the secret sauce for building trust and connection. (Seriously, this is a game-changer.)We talk about the power of knowing your team’s strengths—and their struggles. Because leadership isn’t just about getting results; it’s about helping people thrive. And if you’ve ever wondered how the lessons from recovery translate to leadership, this episode will blow your mind.

This isn’t just a “business talk”—it’s a conversation about being human. And I think that’s why it hit me so hard. It’s raw, it’s relatable, and it’ll leave you with the kind of takeaways you can actually use, starting today.

So, here’s the deal: if you care about making a real difference in the lives of the people you lead—and yeah, in your own life too—then do yourself a favor and listen to this one. I promise, you’ll walk away feeling inspired, equipped, and ready to lead with more heart.

  • What if the greatest tests of your life were the very thing preparing you for an extraordinary purpose?

In this episode of Keep the Change, I sit down with someone whose story embodies resilience, faith, and the transformative power of leadership. Pastor Mulenga Chella has walked a journey that most of us can’t even begin to imagine—wrongfully imprisoned in a foreign country, enduring unthinkable conditions, and yet choosing forgiveness over bitterness.

Here’s what struck me: Pastor Chella didn’t just survive. He thrived. He turned his darkest moments into a calling to serve others, from rescuing orphans to feeding hundreds of children daily. This isn’t just a story about faith—it’s a masterclass in leadership, grace, and finding significance beyond success.

    We dig into:

How forgiveness unlocked the door to his freedom—literally. Why true leadership is about lifting others, even in the toughest circumstances. The Bible verse that kept him grounded when the world felt like it was falling apart. How he went from prison to building a ministry that transforms lives daily.

And here’s the part that floored me: Pastor Chella took the very person responsible for his imprisonment—the man who betrayed him—and nursed him back to health. That choice of love over anger didn’t just change one life—it changed many.

This isn’t just a conversation; it’s an experience. If you’ve ever wondered how to find purpose in pain or how to lead with integrity when everything seems stacked against you, this episode is for you.

To my long-time Keep the Change family—this one will stay with you long after the final words. Let it challenge you. Let it inspire you. And most of all, let it remind you of what’s possible when we lean into faith and lead with love.

  • Hey, Keep The Changers! After a brief break from guests, we’re diving back in with someone who’s as authentic as it gets when it comes to leadership in the dealership world. In today’s episode, I sit down with my longtime friend, Mike Luner—a guy whose journey through the automotive industry has been nothing short of inspiring.

Imagine stepping into a dealership where leadership isn’t just about numbers or authority, but about building trust, guiding people with patience, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued. Mike’s done it all—from his days as a GM in the Bay Area to becoming a partner at a Toyota dealership in Missouri. And he’s been through it all, too—the highs, the lows, and those defining moments that truly shape a leader.

We dig deep into the heart of Mike’s leadership philosophy—how he keeps his team motivated, why patience and consistency matter, and his “attitude is everything” approach to leading through any challenge. We even talk about how our industry’s wild past shaped us into the leaders we are today. For Mike, it’s about so much more than the title; it’s about giving his people the tools to thrive—even if it means they go on to lead their own stores.

So, whether you’re in the automotive world or just looking to level up your leadership game, this episode will have you rethinking what it really takes to lead. It’s about patience, trust, and a whole lot of heart. And as someone who’s walked alongside Mike on this journey, I can tell you, there’s wisdom here you don’t want to miss.

  • Alright, keep-the-changers, buckle up, because this week, we're re-running one of the most powerful conversations I’ve had here on Keep the Change. Ever wondered why some people seem to radiate strength, no matter what life throws their way? That's Trevor Hult for you – a guy who's mastered the art of living with authenticity, resilience, and heart.

In this episode, Trevor and I dive deep into his story – from facing bullies to becoming a speaker, coach, and mentor through Core Trainings, a heart-centered leadership program he co-founded with his mom. His journey is a raw, no-holds-barred look at what it means to be your truest self. And trust me, every word packs a punch.

Trevor shares how “your struggles aren’t your burden; they’re your gift,” and he’ll challenge you to look at fear in a whole new way. Fear, as he puts it, is a "disguised magnet" pulling you toward your greatest potential. It’s real talk about building self-confidence, sticking to your small promises, and living in a way that makes you stand taller every day.

If you’ve heard this episode before, let it hit you with fresh ears. Trevor’s words are a reminder that growth is always ongoing, and this conversation – well, it’s timeless. So grab a coffee, settle in, and let’s dive back into the incredible journey of resilience with Trevor Hult.

  • Hey, keep-the-changers, Bart here, and welcome back to another episode. Today I’m diving deep today into something that's close to my heart and crucial for all of us in leadership—coaching. Now, I know we’ve talked about it before, but this time we’re pulling back the curtain even further. Why? Because coaching is the game-changer most dealerships are missing.

You see, I’ve been in countless dealerships, and there’s a trend that keeps showing up—leaders who work hard, but aren’t seeing the results they want. And it’s not because they’re doing anything wrong. In fact, these leaders are rock stars at closing deals, putting together sales where others might struggle. But here’s the catch: if we’re only focusing on numbers, we’re missing the bigger picture.

This week, it’s all about how we can move beyond the tactical and into the transformative. What does it really mean to develop your people? How can we shift our mindset, not just as managers, but as true activators? I’m pulling lessons from John Maxwell’s Five Levels of Leadership and diving into how changing our thinking changes everything—including your bottom line.

We’ll also dig into what it means to lead with joy. Not that “skipping through the daisies” kind of joy, but real, deep satisfaction that radiates from your team to your customers. And here’s the kicker—when your team is in joy, everything changes. The customer experience improves, results follow, and you create something truly special in your dealership.

So if you're ready to elevate your leadership game, tune in. We’re going to talk about coaching tactics that actually work, how to shift your mindset, and most importantly, how to help your team believe in themselves so they can crush it on the floor and beyond.

  • Hey there, keep-the-changers! I’m excited to dive into something that’s been a game changer (actually, a life changer) for me and the businesses I’ve been working with over the past few years. Since the world shifted in 2020, I've been rethinking the way I coach and lead teams. Group coaching was good, but it was the one-on-one coaching that really started to change the game for my clients—and for me personally.

In this episode, I’m talking about what truly elevates team performance, especially in a tough market. You know, I’ve always said it’s not just about getting the numbers—it’s about developing people. So, we’re getting into the nitty-gritty of how one-on-one coaching, setting clear expectations, and building accountability can lead to results that last. I’ll even share insights from Gallup’s research that might make you rethink how you manage your people.

But here’s the kicker: it's not about being a boss. It’s about becoming an activator—someone who inspires, listens, and asks the right questions to bring out the best in others. Whether you’re running a dealership, leading a team, or just wanting to grow as a leader, I think you’re going to find some powerful takeaways here.

Gone are the days of the old-school boss. Today’s workforce—especially millennials—are asking for more. They want a leader who provides clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and a sense of purpose. It’s time to shake things up and become the leader who activates their team to reach new heights.

  • Hey keep-the-changers, I’m absolutely fired up about today’s episode! I’ve got my good friend and industry powerhouse, Michael Cirillo, CEO of FlexDealer, back on the show, and we’re diving deep into something every dealership leader needs to hear: the secret sauce behind high-performance teams, especially in today’s rollercoaster market.

Now, Michael and I go way back—he was actually the first guest on my podcast—In this episode, we get real about leadership in the dealership, pulling back the curtain on what sets high-performing teams apart in today’s unpredictable market.

Michael and I dive deep into the core traits that successful dealerships share: anticipatory communication (yes, we break down what that means in real terms), vulnerability (and why the hustle culture is dead), and of course, the one word that makes or breaks a team—accountability. We’ve seen it all in our combined years in the industry, and let me tell you, the dealerships that win are the ones that aren’t afraid to get messy, be human, and hold themselves and their teams accountable.

There’s so much we could unpack in this episode, but here’s what I love about this chat: we’re not talking fluff. This is raw, actionable stuff that Michael has seen work in dealerships all over the world—whether in the U.S., Europe, or Canada. It’s universal, no-nonsense leadership that will have you rethinking how you run your team and grow your business.

  • Alright, keep-the-changers, this one’s for you. We’re diving into something that’s been on my mind, and I think it’s about to hit home for you too. Today, I’m pulling back the curtain on the real secret sauce to achieving everything you’ve ever wanted – personal growth and goal setting.

Now, I know you've heard about goals and growth before. Maybe you've even tried it a few times, but let's be real – how many of us are truly committing to that process? In this episode, I’ll walk you through the principles that have shaped my life and career, like the legendary advice from Brian Tracy’s "Eat That Frog" and John Maxwell's "Developing the Leader Within You 2.0." And if you've ever wondered how the top leaders, salespeople, or even the most successful business owners stay ahead of the game, this is it.

We'll be diving deep into why writing your goals down is more than just a task – it’s the difference between dreaming and achieving. I’m talking about the kind of clarity that turns wishes into reality. And listen, I’m not just handing you theory here. I’m giving you the exact exercises that I use, that my coaching clients use, and that have led to real, tangible results.

This episode isn't about hype – it’s about finding that edge, that one piece of the puzzle that can change everything. If you’re ready to stop drifting and start leading, you’re in the right place. Join me as we unpack the steps to not just keep the change but to multiply it.

  • Hey, Keep the Changers! I’ve got something close to my heart to share with you in this episode. You know, after over two years of Keep the Change, I’ve been reflecting on the journey we’ve been on together. I feel like it’s time to shift gears slightly—not a full detour, but more of a refined focus that feels right in my bones.

I’ve been fortunate to work with businesses, ministries like Celebrate Recovery, and within my bootcamps, helping individuals discover and strengthen their leadership abilities. In today’s episode, we’re diving deep into one of the most vital aspects of leadership: self-discipline. This isn’t just about what you do when people are watching; it’s about the work you put in when nobody is around.

What We Discuss In This Episode:

In this episode, I’m diving into what I believe is the most important leadership principle: self-discipline. Yep, that’s right—discipline and consistency. It’s the not-so-glamorous stuff that separates those who reach the top from those who don’t. I talk about some hard-earned lessons on discipline from my own life, including my 39 years of sobriety and the work I’ve done with businesses and ministries.

Here’s the deal: If you want to achieve greatness, whether in business or life, you need to get clear on what you want, why you want it, and how you’re going to get there. I’m laying it all out in this episode—practical tips, and some tough love that’ll get you fired up to take action.

Here’s something for you to reflect on after this episode: Which self-discipline mountain consistently gives you the most difficulty? Is it making cold calls, managing time, or sticking to a workout routine? Whatever it is, I challenge you to dive deep and ask yourself why—five times, to get to the root of the issue. Once you understand your "why," you can create a strategy to conquer it.
