I started beekeeping a decade ago. The reasons why I started are different from the reasons I would start. Now, if someone asked me how to get started, I try to persuade them not to even think about it. I tell them it's not a good idea. I'm not trying to weed out the people who really aren't dedicated. I just think it's not a hobby for most people. Even so I'd love it.

I've been waiting patiently for these DiCicco broccoli seed to germinate. I figured they had sat around for too long and were a lost cause but hope won out and I have some good news to report on today's growing journal.

Have you grown turnips before? Well this is my first time ever and I'm so excited because I've never seen a seed germinate so quickly. I can't wait to tell you about what happened.

Let's learn how to grow cilantro. I've never had good luck with cilantro but this year is going to be different. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to start cilantro seeds. I bought a huge bag of cilantro seeds thinking that i would be planting rows of cilantro every week so we would have a steady supply. I can honestly say that I have never had a single seed sprout from what i can tell. I have always planted directly into the ground and this year I've committed to try and sprout and be a better student of my seeds and I think it's starting to pay off.
