  • In a culture increasingly defined by polarization, this special Election Day episode explores the challenges and rewards of loving those whose political views differ from our own. Reflecting on the pervasive social and media-fueled divisions, I discuss how we can approach such relationships with curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to personal growth. By acknowledging how social media and political discourse often inflame our differences, I encourage us all to examine our own beliefs and the biases that shape our interactions. Through stories and insights, we look at ways to bridge these divides, seeing past the labels to the people we love and cherish. This episode is a call to reclaim the power of respectful dialogue and shared humanity as antidotes to a culture of separation.

  • What does it mean to be a “good man” today? In this profound conversation with Dan Doty, a leader in men’s work and fatherhood, we explore modern masculinity, emotional vulnerability, and the pressure of balancing traditional expectations with the demands of today’s world. Dan reflects on his journey from wilderness therapy programs to pioneering community spaces that foster connection and healing for men. Together, we discuss how fatherhood can serve as a rite of passage, challenging men to deepen emotional bonds with their families while confronting cultural narratives that inhibit vulnerability. Dan’s insights illuminate how shared experiences — like his Fatherhood Ready program and primal hunting excursions — help men reconnect with their sense of purpose and form meaningful, supportive communities. This episode is an invitation for men and women alike to embrace a more open, nurturing version of masculinity, fostering a healthier future for everyone.

Dan Doty is a father of 3, an outdoorsman, and the co-founder of Fatherhood Unlocked and Fatherhood Ready. In the past he was a therapeutic wilderness guide, the director of hit tv show MeatEater, and one of the founders of EVRYMAN. • Modern masculinity faces many challenges, from a lack of clear role models to societal expectations that oscillate between extremes. This episode dives deep into the complex journey of healing for men, exploring the importance of reclaiming balance between the archetypes of the lover and the warrior, and why society's vilification of masculinity through terms like "toxic masculinity" can often do more harm than good. I highlight the need for men to embrace their values, build healthy boundaries, and undergo transformative initiations to rediscover their purpose. This is not just about healing old wounds but about fostering emotional growth and integrity. It’s a call to men to step forward, embrace their pain as a catalyst for purpose, and take risks for deeper love, connection, and authentic change.

  • Our relationship with our mothers has a profound impact on how we form bonds in adulthood. This second episode of a four-part series dives deep into the dynamics of the wounds we have with our maternal figures, exploring how early connections with our mothers shape our emotional landscape, self-expression, and boundaries. We reflect on generational patterns, societal expectations, and how these forces often keep us from becoming our fullest selves. Drawing inspiration from the work of Bethany Webster, we also examine how healing the mother wound can liberate us from unconscious patterns, paving the way for healthier, more authentic relationships. Join us for a conversation on awareness, healing, and transformation.

  • Why do we get stuck in life and how do trauma and our mental health narratives play into that? In this thought-provoking conversation with neuropsychotherapist, Britt Frank, we explore the nuances of trauma, mental health labels, and the personal responsibility often overlooked in modern therapeutic discussions. Britt shares insights from her own experiences, diving deep into how trauma is often misunderstood or misdiagnosed, and how this affects our ability to heal and grow. Together we challenge the popular notion of trauma as an all-encompassing explanation for struggle and instead encourage an approach that blends empathy with accountability. From societal trends to gender identity, we tackle tough topics, making this episode a must-listen for anyone interested in navigating the complexities of human behavior and finding greater personal agency.

Britt Frank, LSCSW, SEP is a licensed neuropsychotherapist and author of The Science of Stuck (Penguin Random House), named by SHRM, Esquire, New York Magazine, and The Next Big Idea Club as a must-read. Britt received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her master’s degree from the University of Kansas, where she later became an award-winning adjunct instructor. Britt is a contributing writer to Psychology Today and her work has been featured in Forbes, NPR, The New York Times, Fast Company, Psych Central, SELF, and Thrive Global.

  • Our relationships often carry the imprints of our childhood, especially when it comes to the complex and generally unspoken father wound. In this first episode of a four-part series, I dive deep into how early experiences with our father figures — whether through absence, emotional distance, or even subtle disconnection — shape our adult relationships in powerful ways. We explore how these wounds manifest in patterns like seeking unavailable partners, feeling inadequate, or grappling with the fear of never being enough. By understanding these dynamics and the relational cycles they create, we can begin to shift from a place of pain toward healing and deeper connection.

  • Critical thinking is an essential skill in today's divided world and in this conversation with educator and podcaster, Will Reusch, we explore why it's more important than ever. Will shares insights from his years of teaching – discussing the challenges of encouraging students to think critically about complex topics instead of passively accepting dominant narratives. We dive into controversial subjects like left-right dynamics, Trans rights, and the role of social media in shaping perspectives – highlighting how echo chambers and ideological capture fracture communities. Will's mission to create safe spaces for open dialogue and his upcoming initiative, Patterdox, are central to fostering curiosity and empathy in our increasingly polarized society.

William Reusch has taught high school social studies in Los Angeles for nearly two decades in several schools that served very diverse populations.  He is a University of Austin Mill Institute Teacher Fellow, has worked with organizations like Heterodox Academy, FAIR (Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism), Civic Spirit, and others in his pursuit to bring critical thinking to the world of K-12 & high school education.  He is the host of the Cylinder Radio podcast and has expanded his educational reach to utilize social media as a way to promote viewpoint diversity and intellectual inquiry.  William is now the founder and lead teacher of the educational platform Patterdox to serve homeschool communities as well as offer supplemental education for all teenagers in the area of social science.
