My friend Julia and I talk about the road through grief, she and her family are traveling over the loss of her daughter, Elizabeth. Our conversation includes the individuality of grief, and the challenges of a mother trying to move through her own grief while helping her children through theirs. We talk about sibling grief, and how life changed after Lizzie died. We explored the question, Is there a right or wrong thing to say or do for someone who has suffered a loss? We laughed, we cried, and we celebrated Lizzie's life.

Charles Dickens described teenagers best. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” Michael and I discuss parenting teenagers' ups, downs, lows, and highs.
Outtake at the end. My cute conversation with my grandson Manning.

I was asked to do a presentation for a women's conference and I decided to make a video. Four of my daughters, Stephanie and Caroline, and daughters-in-law Michelle and Anna helped me out. I asked them four questions. After cutting their answers down to a 5-minute video, I thought, this needs to be a podcast. Come be a fly on the wall, listen to what they say and I think you will find yourself nodding your head, and laughing. Hopefully, you will come away knowing a little more about the importance of being kind to yourself, and embracing the good, including the unique and one-of-a-kind talents that help us be the best mom our kids ever had. And finally, you might start looking for the Joy in motherhood that is found in the everyday. In those sacred moments of NOW.
As usual, listen for the outtakes at the end.

When our children are born we are given a schedule or outline of how to take care of their physical needs. Well-child appointments suggested vaccines to provide, and how many days to watch a fever before calling the doctor. But how do we manage and help our children with their mental health? I discuss this subject with my son, Michael Anderson, a Marriage and Family Counselor. Using our own life experiences, Michael and I discuss how to recognize when it's time to get outside help and, how we as parents can support and empower our children to manage their mental health.
And as usual, check out the outtakes at the end!

Siblings. The most complicated, beautiful, and constant relationship. As parents we spend most of our time playing referee to our children as they fight over socks, throw things through the air at each other, and push the other off a chair they had claimed first! My children and I talk about the sibling relationship, how their birth order has been an influence in their lives, and answer the question, "Will they ever be friends?"
And as usual, check out the outtakes at the end!
