  • In this video, I'll be showcasing the beauties and challenges of my past five years, with photos. I'll show you how we heat our home, where we get our water, what we use for lighting, how and where we go shopping, and why I love living here despite all the difficulties. I made this video because I really wanted to show how great it is to live in nature and to keep it as a memory for myself, because we won't be living here next year.

  • 🇭🇺 HU: Reggeli agymenésem a mentális egészségről.

🇺🇸 EN: My morning brainstorm on mental health. This is going to be a bit unstructured, because I just let the words flow out of me and didn't edit the text on purpose. My aim was to be honest and clear. However, this also meant that I spent too much time on the difficulties of mental health, generalised too much and left no time for solutions and positive thinking. But I hope you find this episode interesting regardless, I'm curious to hear your thoughts about the podcast with this more spontaneous approach without having a pre-written, consciously edited text in front of me.
I think everyone deserves to feel good about themselves. With this episode, I want to encourage you to reflect on your own mental health and find solutions that work for you. Don't be afraid to seek help if you need it.

EN: October 10th is World Mental Health Day, so I thought I’d make a podcast about it. Five people of different ages share their thoughts on mental health. We talk about healthy living, being present, how we’re never satisfied and always want more, raising kids, relationships, world travel, and what it’s like when your mom is a psychologist. And no, I didn’t mention meditation or yoga even once! No advice, except that traveling is great and we should try to live in the moment. CLUB MEMBERSHIP

  • Now I have a special celebratory episode for you, because it's the one-year anniversary of the Plain Hungarian Podcast and Klub! I asked the club members to send me summer stories, and I'm going to read them.
You can read the podcasts in the club and I'll also be doing an English-Hungarian word list for each episode, but the best part is the Hungarian lesson where we talk in small groups about the monthly podcast topic.
We also have a monthly Coffee Break (Kávészünet), where we have coffee, tea and talk in Hungarian. In the spring we also had live Coffee Breaks in a really cute café in Budapest, and I'd like to do that again in the autumn.
If you want to join the Plain Hungarian Klub and learn Hungarian with me in a fun and supportive community, go to http://ko-fi.com/plainhungarian/tiers
The club has lots of useful teaching material, such as grammar explanations, slang, learning tips, podcast transcripts, word explanations, and of course the monthly Hungarian lessons and Coffee Break. In the past year, I have produced a lot of teaching material: the transcripts of the twenty-six podcast episodes are now over 210 pages long, and I have written over 1300 word explanations.

  • Imagine that a woman has to sell her jewellery to finance her medical studies. Why was Vilma Hugonnai, the first Hungarian woman doctor, forced to do this, and what social obstacles did she have to overcome? I present this fascinating story and the life of Mileva Marić, whose name is often overshadowed by that of her husband Albert Einstein. Both women struggled to find a place in academia and the world of science, and through their inspiring stories I shed light on the social challenges and prejudices of the time.

  • Szia! I'm Csilla and this is the Plain Hungarian podcast for Hungarian learners.

In this episode, five people talk about the inspiring women they know. The reason for this topic is because there was Mother's Day recently. In the episode I talk about a wise grandmother, a physics sister, a single mom, a great Hungarian teacher and my mother-in-law. 😊

It's spring, the birds are singing, and unfortunately you can really hear the birds in the podcast, but I hope you don't mind.
