  • The juice is, indeed, loose on this Pod!

That’s right, this week we review our highly anticipated BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE! Does it mark a return of classic Tim Burton? Does Michael Keaton still got it in him? Is the film actually good…. Or does it fall in with the rest of the legacy sequels?

These are the questions we ask (and hopefully answer) this week, but before all that we find out what’s so good about that PS5 Pro (and that price tag - yikes) AND everything pro and max and plus about every new announcement out of the Apple event!

Then, not only do we have some new trailers in Wolf Man and The Apprentice, but we have a new sound board, too?! Nice… very nice!

Lastly we dig into what we’re into including Sony’s video gaming champion, Astro Bot, and the love hate relationship that is watching the latest horror/thriller indie darling… Strange Darling!

  • Well folks the summer has come to a close but not before the n3rds tally up their box office scores in their SUMMER MOVE WAGER! Who took home the top spot and did the right movies make it into the top ten? Listen and find out!

Then they hold onto their butts as they brace themselves for ANOTHER Jurassic World movie…

But that’s not even the ruffest part of the episode. In this week’s Trailer Talk, the n3rds get a first look at Amy Adams’ new movie - NIGHTBITCH! Is she turning into a dog?? Miguel will never know because he doesn’t watch “weird” movies.

Also there’s a quick sneak peek at Alien: Earth, a new tv series coming to HULU and set in the Alien universe just 30 years before the original movie.

And finally we see the very first footage of Minecraft the movie starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black!

We get down and dirty with all the social media sites in our lives, our firsts, our favorites (our least favorites)...

But before all that we get into fast food news (?) from the rumored Big Arch burger over at McDonalds and Chick-fil-a’s endeavor to join the world of streaming!

  • 23:19 - 2024 Mid Year Review

We're chatting about the first look at Gladiator 2 and the new Harry Potter TV series. We're digging into the photos from Gladiator 2 and feeling cautiously hyped for the film. Plus, we talk about Mark Mylod from Succession jumping on board for the Harry Potter series and throw around some casting guesses. We've got mixed feelings about the TV series, but our love for the Harry Potter books is real.

We cover a bunch of stuff like box office numbers, how streaming is shaking up movie releases, and our fave movies and TV shows of the year. We're buzzing about the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, the Three Body Problem show, and how bummed we are about the Dune Part II series. And of course, we can't wait for upcoming releases like Shogun and Fortnite.

We get into the Wickedator hype, upcoming movies like Rings of Power and Arcane, and our thoughts on Will Smith's latest antics. We chat about our mid-year favorites in movies and TV, and we're super pumped for the Euro Cup. The convo covers everything from new releases to celeb reactions and sports.

In the last part of our chat, we argue about whether Bowser could fit into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles world. Ed thinks crossovers should be avoided, while Miguel brings up some crossovers that already happened. We also talk about our social media fails and share our thoughts on the show The Bear. We give a quick recap of House of the Dragon and talk about The Witcher 3 game. Finally, Ed gives us his take on the movie The Bike Riders.

  • 1:28 - Trailers (Caped Crusader, The Penguin, Nosferatu, Heretic) //

    22:11 - Summer Box Office Update //

    31:14 - Superman Suit //

    48:22 - TikTok Parents / Country Music //

    01:26:46 - House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 2 //

In this episode, we're diving into trailers for the new Batman animated movie and the A24 film Heretic. We've got mixed feelings about yet another Batman flick and are seriously questioning DC's constant stream of superhero movies. But you know what? We're super stoked for Robert Eggers' Nosferatu and can't wait to sink our teeth into that one! We geek out over the trailers, chatting about the casting choices and the cool cinematography. Oh, and we have to admit, we're guilty of endlessly rewatching trailers too!

Then, Ed and I get into the nitty-gritty of that new Superman suit and those leaked set photos from the next Superman flick. We debate the suit's fit and the style of the belt loops. Plus, we're worried the movie might go too goofy, like James Gunn's past films, which could cheapen Supes' iconic status. We also dish on the dos and don'ts of sharing set pics and how we handle potential spoilers.

Next up, we switch gears to chat about something completely different. We discuss the latest trend of posting set photos and the thrill of spotting movie sets in the wild. Then, we get real about the unspoken rules of playdates and the awkward dance of who pays for what. We drop some wisdom on keeping things chill in relationships, because hey, no one likes drama!

And let's not forget our unexpected deep dive into country music! We've been discovering new artists like Luke Combs and reminiscing about classics from Tracy Chapman. Oh, and we can't wait to hit up some live concerts soon. Finally, we wrap things up with a quick chat about the buzz-worthy TV show House of the Dragon.

  • THE FUTURE IS NOW!! Chat GPT has entered the chat! With Miguel and Ed gone for the week, Luis has no other choice but to enlist Chat GPT as his new Podcast Guest. Together they chat and recap about all the big casting updates for Fantastic Four (Marvel Studios), Jurassic World 4, and Wake Up Dead Man: Knives Out Mystery (Netflix). Luis even asks Chat GPT what movie/show they are looking forward to. I was surprised they even answered the question!

They even talk about the state of the Movie Industry, the Box Office Failure of “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and “Garfield” on Memorial Day Weekend, and the new media plan for Marvel Studios (Marvel Television, Marvel Animation, Marvel Spotlight, and Marvel Special Presentation). Times are tough in the Movie Industry with many chanting “Survive till 25”

Oh yeah and we talk about Vision and “It Was Agatha All Along”... you know… more Marvel stuff.

  • It’s just two amigos this week as Ed takes time to wrangle tornadoes in Texas!

While he’s out, Luis and Miguel talk the latest update for Chat gpt which sounds awfully familiar to a certain celebrity who is unafraid to hire a legal team. Will Scarlett Johansson be the first to make an example of the changes we need to make to AI and its usage?

Plus the nerds cannot believe the fall off that The Fall Guy is experiencing by being pushed to VOD only three weeks after its release. Does this spell doom for the movie theater industry and what will audiences prefer in the future?

And speaking of how consumers spend their hard earned money, Luis and Miguel get into just how much a video game is worth and what limit each nerd has on their budget.

All of that plus WHAT WE’RE INTO in this streamlined episode!
