On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Queen Wartooth about designing airdrops, strategies for acquiring new users in crypto, and she reveals for the first time the project she’s been working on in stealth, Dragon Academy, which will launch next month.
Queen Wartooth has done a lot of work around designing airdrops and thinking about how best to incentivize users, and we spend the first half or so of the conversation talking about airdrop design, anti-Sybil strategies, and problems around user acquisition in general.
Then, for the second half of the conversation, Wartooth opens up about Dragon Academy, which aims to fundamentally change how airdrops are architected and executed to the benefit of both long term aligned products and new users.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Zoe Weinberg, Founder and Managing Partner at ex/ante, the first venture fund dedicated to agentic tech.
We start our conversation by getting a little insight into Zoe’s background, which is quite unique and unusual but also lends itself quite well to the work she’s doing today in privacy and human agency.
She shares the ways in which her past humanitarian work in conflict zones and developing nations opened her eyes to issues around surveillance capitalism and how she had her first big realization of how crypto can change individuals’ lives in meaningful ways when she met a group of Bitcoin miners in Iraq during the Mosul conflict when Iraq successfully took back the city of Mosul from the Islamic State.
We then dive into some big topics around agentic tech, including user control, consent, privacy, and online (and onchain) data sharing. Zoe envisions a world where humans have full agency over how their information and data are used and we talk about what it might take for us to get there.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Sean McCaffery, co-founder of JokeRace, about new developments in smart contract design, how onchain data can drive consumer adoption of crypto, and new and novel use cases for tokens.
We’ve had Sean’s co-founder, David Phelps, on the podcast a couple of times, back in S6 E10 where he talked about crypto use cases for mass adoption and even earlier on in S3 E2 which aired in August 2022 when he talked about non-financial use cases for tokens.
JokeRace is a contests platform for communities to run, grow, and monetize. In our specific case, Rehash holders are able to submit proposals on JokeRace, nominating their favorite people to be guests on the podcast, and our guest lineup for the following season of Rehash is determined through a voting process every quarter.
For a full primer and history on how JokeRace started and developed, check out David Phelps’ episodes from S3 E2 and S6 E10 so you have full context on the project and are able to appreciate some of the alpha Sean drops about upcoming feature launches.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Jon Wu about marketing and investing in crypto.
Last season you heard from Jon’s other half, Maggie Love, from SheFi in S7 E9 about onboarding women into crypto, and now we have the opportunity to speak with the other half of this dynamic duo and power couple, Jon.
Jon recently became an early stage investor after a decade of building in crypto and in tech more broadly, and in our conversation today he shares lots of great insights on what he believes to be the most effective marketing strategies in crypto, how he comes up with his unpopular beliefs and hot takes, and where he believes the crypto space currently stands from an investor perspective.
Whether you agree with all of his takes or not, you’ll definitely learn something new and walk away with not only some new perspectives but also tangible action steps you can take to help you formulate your own perspectives.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Winny about all things consumer crypto and wearable tech, onboarding the masses to crypto, and her new company, Chipped, which offers NFC embedded press-on nails that link people to your socials.
What’s really inspiring about the work Winny’s doing is that she’s found a way to make consumer crypto really fun and digestible to people outside of crypto by leveraging social rather than gamified experiences.
She shares some interesting takes about why consumer crypto hasn’t been super successful to date and what we need to do differently in order to make crypto products resonate with a mainstream audience.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Kat from ethevacuations, a project that’s helping fund evacuations from Gaza with ETH.
Many of you might know Kat from her previous role as Head of Product at Zora, but since December 2023, she has been focusing her efforts on providing humanitarian aid to Palestine through crypto rails.
In this episode we talk about some of the unique behaviors and impacts crypto enables, such as increased speed and ease of international remittances, as well as some of the challenges crypto introduces.
Kat also shares her thoughts on how crypto can be used for international aid more broadly, how she handles tough conversations with friends and colleagues about the crisis that’s been going on in Palestine since October of last year, and what she wishes the mainstream knew about crypto beyond memecoins and scams.
Kat has raised over a quarter million dollars and helped safely evacuate 40 people through ethevacuations so far, and you can support her by donating directly to the wallet address listed on ethevacuations.xyz, by collecting this episode at pods.media/rehash, by tipping on Farcaster or Zora (links below), or by building ethevacuations into a split for an NFT project you’re managing.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Jonah Erlich about what a multisignature wallet is, how it’s different from MPC (multiparty computation), best security practices for managing a multisig, and how to be a good multisig signer.
Jonah experienced many of the common challenges multisig signers face when he was operating as a core team member of ConstitutionDAO back in late 2022, which is what inspired him to build Den, a tool that helps teams operate more quickly, safely, and effectively onchain through things like human readable descriptions, notifications, recurring transactions, and much more which Jonah shares more about in this episode.
We wrap up with a few “can you nots” where we share some of our biggest pet peeves about things multisig signers or people operating in crypto in general like to do, and Jonah overdelivers on his campaign promise to tell an embarrassing childhood story about Diana by telling not one but two embarrassing childhood stories about her.

On our final special bonus episode of Rehash recorded live in Denver on March 1, 2024, we’re holding our first ever debate between three major L2 chains: Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism. The representatives from each chain are Hudson Jameson (Polygon), Disruption Joe (Arbitrum), and Binji (Optimism).
Each representative gives opening and closing statements about why the layer 2 chain they’re working on is the best one, shares some popular use cases for projects building on their chain, and some even attack other chains in an attempt to win the L2 wars.
This debate is all in good fun, as we all believe in a multichain future and are rooting for the success of all three chains, but we do wrap up the episode by asking our live studio audience to vote on which chain they’re most bullish on after hearing the debates.
At the end of the day, we all want each other to win, and we all want Ethereum to win.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Caitlin Cook, Head of Communications and Marketing at Hxro Labs, a distributed liquidity layer for derivatives trading and betting on Solana.
Caitlin is the first guest from the Solana ecosystem that we’ve had on the podcast, so we had to take advantage of this time to ask her all the questions about Solana. Caitlin talks about some trends she’s seeing on Solana that are unique to the ecosystem, why she believes Solana has grown so much, and what role she sees Solana playing in our multichain world moving forward.
Prior to joining Hxro Labs, where she works now, Caitlin was a DeFi educator for about 18 months, primarily educating TradFi institutions about DeFi but also creating educational content for the general public as well, so we chatted about her experiences with that and what she found to be the most convincing narratives for both the general public as well as TradFi institutions to pique their curiosity about DeFi and begin to onboard them.
Finally, Caitlin shared some great insights on the best ways to onboard the next billion users to crypto.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Richie Bonilla, founder of Forage, about onchain distribution and culture, how to introduce new consumer behaviors, and thinking beyond skeuomorphic models.
Richie is a repeat guest who previously made an appearance on Rehash almost a year ago in S4 E7 where he talked about the future of independent work.
Today, Richie is working on Forage, the easiest way for people to discover and support their favorite onchain projects. You’ll hear us mention his new product as Quests in this episode, but since we recorded this episode, the product has actually been renamed to Forage and you can find it at forage.xyz.
In this highly conversational episode, Richie and I talk through traditional models of distribution in media that have failed us and left a bad taste in our mouth and propose new models of onchain distribution that break down a lot of the assumptions we’ve made about concepts like advertising and ownership.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Irina Panovich (aka aiio) about non-linear models for cultural production, the importance of physicality and play when exploring emerging tech, and the importance of experimentation in crypto.
For the last five years, aiio has been experimenting with an arts and tech collective in Copenhagen called 320 Colab, testing out various theses relating to funding for artists and creatives. This is her first time sharing publicly on a podcast about her experiences and learnings from that experiment.
We talk a lot in this episode about experimenting in crypto, especially with community and culture, and aiio shares some key learnings and advice for building a community around foundational values and using human centered design.
She also gives us a sneak peek into a new project she’s working on right now that will be launching soon - a new podcast with UFO that she’ll be using to experiment with new forms and models for podcasting.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Eshita, Head of Strategy at Astria, about the current state of crypto infra, why developer tooling is lagging, and we get to the bottom of what shared sequencers are.
After spending a couple of years researching the crypto ecosystem, Eshita started to feel like a bystander and wanted to become more of an active participant in the ecosystem, so she recently joined Astria to help build out their shared sequencer network.
Astria allows many rollups to share a single decentralized network of sequencers, which increases censorship resistance and enables faster block confirmations, all while allowing each rollup to maintain their own sovereignty.
We then zoom out a bit and look at crypto infrastructure as a whole, and Eshita shares what she believes to be some of the most important pieces in the infra space right now as well as areas where she hopes to see more development and innovation moving forward.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Julia Lipton, Founder and General Partner at Awesome People Ventures, about unlocking latent potential in humans, finding product market fit in web3 communities, and the most important things happening in the global landscape right now.
In many ways it’s surprising that it took us until Season 7 to bring Julia on the podcast because she has actually played a part in Rehash from Day 0 as you’ll hear us talk about at the beginning of this episode. Julia is an investor, connector of people, and all around one of the kindest and most generous humans I’ve encountered in this space.
In this episode we start out by talking about DAO Masters, a project she crowdfunded through Mirror that ended up winding down last summer, and what she learned about the give-get equation through her experience there. She wrote a really thoughtful Twitter thread about the give-get equation that I’ve linked in the show notes and would encourage you all to check out, especially if you’re someone working in or adjacent to the DAO ecosystem.
We then get into a discussion around why there’s so much latent and unused human talent floating around in the corporate world and what people have been doing about it, such as flocking to freelance and contract work, or even to DAOs. Obviously DAOs aren’t perfect and are far from it, but Julia shares some strategies she thinks could be implemented for DAOs to be more effective in their operations while maintaining the same draw they have for people today.
Finally, we talk about what Julia is most focused on in the global landscape with crypto and nintynick chimes in with a question about progressive decentralization.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with 13yearoldvc, Ecosystem Lead at Eigenlayer, about how she studied 50 projects a day to identify trends as a VC, why she now enjoys building more than investing, and what it is about Eigenlayer that she believes makes it a really special one of a kind project.
“If you can’t explain it to a 10 year old in 2 minutes or less, don’t own it.” -Peter Lynch
Few people in web3 are very good at explaining crypto and blockchain concepts in a way that’s easy for mainstream consumers to understand (myself included), but 13yearoldvc is different. She came into this episode loaded with analogies that make complex topics like staking and data availability and seemingly complex projects like Eigenlayer easily understandable to a 10 year old.
On a more personal note, she shares how she found her ikigai with her work at Eigenlayer now and her best advice for others to find their ikigai. She also shares her best advice for others who want to succeed as a VC or as a builder in web3 or both.

On this episode of Rehash, we’re speaking with Gabriel, founder of Mochi, a coordination game for autonomous worlds.
AI and blockchain are two buzzwords anyone operating remotely adjacent to the tech space has heard a lot of in recent years, but we haven’t heard much of the two concepts operating together.
Gabriel believes there’s actually a strong case for AI and blockchain to operate together, and in this episode he shares why he believes blockchain and crypto can have a strong impact on AI and provides a plethora of fascinating examples and future use cases for the two to interoperate.
We then get into a discussion about autonomous worlds - how Gabriel defines them, what they unlock, and why they might be the next evolution of DAOs.
