"The Officer's Duty" is a historically inspired sermon based on my ministry as a reenactor portraying a chaplain of the 2nd United States Sharpshooters, Army of the Potomac, Union Army, during the American Civil War. The sermon bases its theme on Luke 7:11-16, where Jesus Christ raised the widow's son from the dead and how officers and noncommissioned officers must raise "dead" soldiers from their cowardice to fight against the enemy.
