Kanan Dhru is the Senior Lecturer Legal Technology at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS), where she coordinates minors on Law, Artificial Intelligence and New Technologies as well as Cyber Security. At THUAS, she is a part of the Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence and also represents the university on projects such as AI4Intelligence and AI for public safety. A law graduate from the London School of Economics, Kanan has been developing and researching innovative solutions in the legal domain since 2009.

Natasha Labohm geeft al ruim 14 jaar les bij de opleiding Huidtherapie. Van huis uit psycholoog en een grote interesse in filosofie. Ze begeleidt studenten bij hun afstuderen en is onderzoeker bij het lectoraat Wereldburgerschap. Daar doet ze onderzoek naar het ethisch handelen van de huidtherapeut in cosmetische zorg, om onderwijs te ontwikkelen dat ervoor zorgt dat studenten Huidtherapie zich bewuster worden van de ethische dilemma’s in de cosmetische praktijk en zich bekwaam voelen om daar mee om te gaan. keuzes die cliënten maken technologie die ingezet wordt bij cosmetische behandelingen de manier waarop er over schoonheid gedacht wordtAls vooronderzoek heeft ze literatuuronderzoek gedaan naar schoonheidsidealen en naar normen en waarden met betrekking tot cosmetische behandelingen. En daar gaat ze in deze podcast graag op in.

Caroline Verduin is naast haar werk als docent Bestuurskunde/Overheidsmanagement ook gemeenteraadslid in Den Haag. Voordat ze de stap maakte naar het onderwijs, werkte ze als senior beleidsmedewerker bij een politieke partij in de Tweede Kamer. De Tweede Kamerverkiezingen volgt ze daarom ook nauwgezet. En je ziet het steeds vaker op je tijdlijn voorbijkomen, want het neemt een steeds grotere plek in op sociale media. Wat is nepnieuws precies? En hoe wordt je mediawijs in tijden van fake news?
Jos van Helvoort is hogeschooldocent bij de opleiding HBO-ICT van De Haagse Hogeschool en onderzoeker bij het lectoraat Duurzame Talentontwikkeling. Als onderzoeker is hij vooral geïnteresseerd in de vraag hoe mensen media- en informatievaardigheden gebruiken om zich een leven lang te ontwikkelen.

De studententijd is de tijd van nieuwe contacten, ervaringen en volledige vrijheid. En ook de tijd van bier, pasta pesto, lege pizzadozen en slappe tosti’s om vijf uur 's ochtends. Studenten zeggen gezond te willen eten, maar kopen vervolgens toch een goedkope vette hap in de kantine. Is het voedingspatroon van studenten echt zo ongezond als we denken?
Ruth van Ingen Schenau is afstudeercoördinator bij de opleiding Voeding en Diëtetiek aan De Haagse Hogeschool. Daarnaast volgt zij momenteel de master Gezondheidswetenschappen aan de VU in Amsterdam. Haar passie ligt bij gezondheid in de breedste zin van het woord: lichamelijke gezondheid, maar ook mentale gezondheid.

There used to be – to put it quite simply – two Europe’s: Eastern Europe and Western Europe. In the past, that is, the period between roughly 1945 and 1989, when the proverbial Iron Curtain separated the two Europe’s. Of course, this dichotomy had little to do with reality. The world is never black and white. So, does Eastern Europe even exist? Or is it only a mental map?
Guido van Hengel is a lecturer in the European Studies program at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and a historian and writer of non-fiction. He is specialized in the history of the Balkans and the First World War.

Duurzaam eten levert winst op voor het milieu én je gezondheid. Alleen hoe doe je dat? Door vooral groente, fruit, granen en peulvruchten te eten - en wat minder vlees, alcohol en snacks te nemen - ben je al goed op weg. Ook kun je kijken wat de herkomst is van een product of van welk dier een vleesproduct komt en onder welke omstandigheden het dier heeft geleefd. Toch maken we in de supermarkt niet altijd de meest duurzame voedselkeuze. Waarom vinden we dit toch zo lastig?
Patricia Bulsing is docent en onderzoeker bij de opleiding Voeding en Diëtetiek aan De Haagse Hogeschool. Ze behandelt in haar lessen verschillende onderdelen van de psychologie die voor de voedingskundige en diëtist relevant zijn. Daarnaast doet Patricia onderzoek naar de acceptatie van nieuwe technologieën binnen de voeding en naar de psychologie achter de uitdagende transitie naar een duurzamer eetpatroon.
