It iiiiiiiis Sportsfeld Storytime. This month, Jake and Zubes take a trip all the way back to August of 2015 to talk about a team that doesn't get enough press, the 2015 Toronto Blue Jays. Before the bat flip, before the AL East title, before the heartbreak, the focus was on one man and his Blue Jays debut. Yes, we are talking about the one, the only David Price. Take yourself back to a Monday afternoon game in early August to a sold out Skydome and David Price's first start as a Blue Jay. In the first episode, the guys take a look at where the 2015 Blue Jays were before the Price trade, talk some run differential, and talk some Troy Tulowitzki.

This week on Sportsfeld Storytime, we wrap up our look back at the 2017 Toronto FC season, capped by their historic run in the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League. We are talking wins over Tigres, Club América, and then the devastating loss in the final against Guadalajara. All of that, plus we dig into why the 2019 MLS Cup Final just...didn't seem like that big a deal in Toronto. It's a weird time to be a Toronto FC fan, and we're going to try and figure out why that is. Because we're very, very smart.

Sweet, sweet revenge. Toronto FC cap off a season for the ages with an incredible and dominant win over the Seattle Sounders at BMO Field in the 2017 MLS Cup Final. We relieve the game, the celebration, and the relief that Jozy Altidore brings to the masses with this Cup clinching goal on that fateful December night. With three trophies already in the bag, Toronto FC and then sets sight on taking home the CONCACAF Champions League.

This week on Sportsfeld Storytime, we continue our look back at the 2017 Toronto FC road to MLS Cup. This week, we're looking at two nail-biting playoff series against the New York Red Bulls and the Columbus Crew. We're talking Jozy's dominance, Giovinco's brilliance, and also the time Jozy missed a playoff game because he got into a fight at halftime. Good times. Also, was Jake at the 2017 Eastern Conference Finals or did he just imagine it? Honestly, who are we to say?

Fresh off a bitter disappointment in a shootout at the 2016 MLS Cup at the hands of the Seattle Sounders, Toronto FC set out on a mission to win everything in 2017. In Part One, we cover their dominant and record-setting regular season, and an exclamation mark win that added yet another dramatic chapter to the rivalry with the Montreal Impact.

It iiiiiisssssssssss Sportsfeld Storytime as we finish off our look back at the 1993 Toronto Blue Jays' World Series victory over the hated Philadelphia Phillies. This week, we're looking at the aftermath of the Jays' victory and what would be a swift, and consistent, fall from grace that was interrupted by the 1994 MLB Strike. We also look back at the Jays' struggles throughout the 90s and 2000s, all the way up to regaining their place at the top of the American League East with our beloved 2015 team. Curl up someplace comfy, it's Storytime.

Touch 'Em All Joe! On this episode of Sportsfeld Storytime we remember the greatest home run of our lives, as Joe Carter takes Mitch Williams deep to left to clinch a World Series title for the Toronto Blue Jays. Along the way, we remember Whoomp There It Is, Paul Molitor's unbelievable World Series MVP credentials, and wonder why we know commercials better than pretty much anything else in our lives. Doo-doo-doo doo-doo we're proud of our Blue Jays.

It isssssss Sportsfeld Storytime. In Part 2 of our look back at Game 6 of the 1993 World Series, we try to remember the 1993 ALCS, which was apparently a series that was played. We also talk about just absolutely hating the Philadelphia Phillies, especially Curt Schilling. We still hate Curt Schilling. And we discuss Game 4 of the 1993 World Series, one of the craziest baseball games of all-time that surely would kill us if we had to experience it as adults.

At the start of a new year, we're going back to where it all started for us as sports fans: the incredible 1993 Toronto Blue Jays. In this episode we sort through the 1993 regular season, remember that kids under 10 don't remember regular seasons, gaze in wonderment at John Olerud and Paul Molitor, and shake our heads at the idea of adding Rickey Henderson to a championship level roster. Ah, 1993. The Maple Leafs are great, the Blue Jays are unbeatable, and we don't have to go to work or pay rent or make our own food. It'll be like this forever!

It's 2002 and there's a thick layer of hope wafting in the air around the Air Canada Centre. The Leafs have finished 2nd in the East, only one point back of the Bruins. Mats Sundin is the highest scoring centre in the league and has led the team to their 4th consecutive playoff appearance. The supporting cast is stronger than ever with Darcy Tucker, Gary Roberts and Alexander Mogilny upfront, Tomas Kaberle & Bryan McCabe on the blue line, and Curtis Joseph manning the net.
After a hard fought 7-game series win against the New York Islanders in the first round, the Leafs are bruised, but ready to battle against the upstart Ottawa Senators, who feature young talent like Daniel Alfredsson, Marian Hossa and an oversized defensemen named Zdeno Chara.

On this week's episode of Sportsfeld Storytime, we wrap up our look back at the Roy Halladay/AJ Burnett duel of 2009. This week, we're remembering the Roy Halladay trade, which saw him leave Toronto and head to Philadelphia where he would, of course, throw a no-hitter in his first playoff appearance. We then look back at Life After Doc, as Alex Anthopolous makes his first moves as GM, Jose Bautista becomes The God King, and Brett Lawrie leaps his way into our hearts.

On this week's edition of Sportsfeld Storytime, we continue our look back at the Roy Halladay/AJ Burnett showdown of 2009. This week, we Remember Some Guys like Aaron Hill, Lyle Overbay, and Scott Rolen. Plus, Zubes has the opportunity to sing the praises of Travis Snider and slander the good name of Cito Gaston. All that plus the early days of the Blue Jays blogosphere and how that has influenced our memory of this team ever since.

After three years of a starting pitcher bromance in bloom, AJ Burnett left our beloved Toronto Blue Jays to sign with the Yankees. In 2009, he returned to Skydome in a head to head matchup against who else? Roy Halladay. This month on Sportsfeld Storytime we look back at the "Playoff Atmosphere" in the dome several years before the actual playoffs would return to Toronto. In episode one, we remember the AJ Burnett era, three years where the Jays were quietly pretty good, and try our best to put some respect on the name of Vernon Wells.

In this episode of Sportsfeld Storytime Jake and Zubes discuss how they celebrated Crosby's Golden Goal and then look forward, or back now I guess, to what came next for Team Canada. What they found was a much less exciting Gold Medal Game in 2014, and then a stunning loss in 2018 to....Germany? Whatever you say. Mason Raymond was there though.
