You think youāre through it.
Youāve done the therapy, the crying in Sainsburyās car park, the awkward first dates, and the bad hair phase.
Youāve moved on.
And thenā¦.. BAMā¦. years later, you bump into the ex-husband at a family do, and it hits you: the long echo of divorce is still reverberating a tiny bit in your chest.
In this episode, weāre talking about that sudden rush of sadness/weirdness/nostalgia that can show up long after divorceā¦. often triggered by a totally innocent moment (like your grandson pointing out that āDaddyās Mummy and Daddyās Daddy are both here!ā).
Itās bittersweet, sometimes funny, always human ā¦. and youāre not alone in feeling it.
In this episode, we look atā¦ā¦
š¦ The āTupperware drawerā of emotionsā¦.. how grief can get packed away but still rattle when you least expect it
š§ Why our brains sneakily serve up nostalgia in moments that are emotionally charged or tender (like grandkids, birthdays⦠or seeing someone who used to make you want to scream into a cushion)
šŖ Why you might feel like your old married self again *just for a second*.... and how disorienting (and infuriating!) that can be
š Why itās okay to mourn what could have been ā¦.. even when youāre super f*cking glad itās over
š When the ex gives you the ick all over again
š” This episode is for you if:
- Youāve been divorced for a while and are shocked by sudden pangs of emotion
- Youāre trying to make sense of complex feelings that resurface when your worlds collide
- You want permission to feel a bit sad *and* a bit smug *and* a bit confusedā¦. all at once
- You need a reminder that healing isnāt linear ā¦. and itās okay if the past taps you on the shoulder sometimes
Hope you enjoy (and if you do, PLEASE rate and review āāāāā)

In this weekās episode, weāre cracking open the metaphorical novel of your life post-divorceā¦.. and spoiler alert: itās time to stop re-reading the old chapters (yes, even the dramatic ones where your ex turned into a plot twist nobody asked for).
I look at the real reason you might feel stuck after your split: you're clinging to a story that no longer serves you.
And while it's totally human to go full FBI agent on your past (āWas it the weird work trip?ā āThat sketchy āfriendā?ā), the truth isā¦.. those pages are toast. Burnt. Gone. No amount of literary detective work is going to rewrite the ending.
But here's the plot twist YOU do get to write: the one where you become the main character again.
⨠Weāre ditching the sad reruns and tackling:
āļø Why your brain keeps rereading the bad chapters of your old life
āļø How terrifying (and freeing) a blank page really is
āļø Why rewriting your story doesnāt mean erasing the past⦠but owning the pen now
āļø And how to create a badass next chapter with you as the heroine (main character activated ā)
So if youāve ever found yourself staring at the blinking cursor of your future thinking, āWell, fuck. Now what?ā......this oneās for you.š„ Because, the story of you?
That oneās just getting good š©·Hope you enjoy (and if you do, PLEASE rate and review āāāāā)

In this episode, weāre going all in on a topic so many of us struggle withā¦. control.
After divorce, itās SO tempting to try and manage everythingā¦.. the ex, the narrative, the emotions, even the future. But the truth is control is actually an illusion.
So weāre unpackingā¦.
āļø What controlling behaviour looks like after divorce (Hint: You might not even realise you're doing it!)
āļø Why we try to controlā¦. is it love, ego, or just fear of the unknown?
āļø How control actually hurts youā¦. mentally, emotionally, and physically.
āļø How to let go and reclaim your peaceā¦. because you deserve to focus on YOU, not him.
āļø The transformation that happens when you stop trying to control the uncontrollable. From social media stalking (weāve all been there!) to emotional bargaining, I break it down just how control sneaks into your post-divorce life and why loosening your grip might just be the most freeing thing you do.
We go in on:⨠Why controlling your ex or the situation is actually draining your energy.
⨠The difference between ego-driven control vs. genuine desire to reconnect.
⨠The truth about why fear of the unknown keeps you stuck.
⨠A mindset shift that will help you release control and find peace. So, grab your coffee (or wineā¦. no judgment here), and letās talk about why letting go is your superpower.
Hope you enjoy (and if you do, PLEASE rate and review āāāāā)

š” What if the reason you keep ending up in the same patternsā¦.relationships, finances, confidenceā¦.has nothing to do with bad luck and everything to do with your internal thermostat?
In this episode, Iām looking at one of the biggest mindset shifts you can make after divorceā¦. raising your internal thermostat.
Think about itā¦.your brain, much like your home heating system, has a set point for what it believes is normal. If itās set to struggle in relationships, in money, in self-worth⦠guess what? No matter how much you want to change, your subconscious will pull you right back to that same old temperature.
šØ Ever wondered whyā¦
š„ You keep dating the same emotionally unavailable people?
š„ You get a financial windfall⦠only to suddenly have an unexpected expense wipe it out?
š„ No matter how much self-work you do, you still donāt feel āworthyā of more?Thatās your thermostat, love. And itās time to turn it the hell up.
šļø In this episode, weāre covering:
āļø How your subconscious thermostat controls your life (without you even realising)
āļø How to identify your set point in love, money, and self-esteem
āļø The sneaky ways we sabotage ourselves when things start feeling too good
āļø How to reprogram your thermostatā¦. so your new normal is actually what you deserveš Are you a thermostat, setting the temperature for your life? Or just a thermometer, reacting to whatever happens?
If youāre ready to start raising the bar on your life after divorceā¦.one degree at a timeā¦. This episode is for you.

Nope, weāre talking about Mel Robbins' The 5 Second Rule ā¦.. the one that stops overthinking, boosts courage, and helps you make brave choices (even when you really donāt want to).
In this episode, Iām taking the 5 Second Rule and giving it a divorce twist ā¦. because, letās be real, navigating post-divorce life can feel like a never-ending f*cking blooper reel of cringe-worthy moments, regrets, and overthinking spirals.
So weāre looking atā¦.

š Why does it feel like theyāre living their best life while youāre just trying to survive?
Divorce can feel like the ultimate injustice⦠especially if youāve been betrayed. While your ex seems to move on with ease (and maybe even a smug grin), youāre left picking up the emotional, financial, and social pieces of a life you thought would last forever.
In this episode, weāre diving into the gut-punching unfairness of it all, from the gut-level rage of "Itās not fair!" to the emotional exhaustion of waiting for karma to show up. But hereās the hard truth: staying stuck in that injustice only hurts you, not them.
What youāll hear in this episode:
āļø Why divorce feels like someone threw out the rulebookā¦. and why that hurts so much
āļø How the inner childās sense of fairness amplifies the pain of betrayal (and how to soothe it)
āļø Why waiting for karma is like watching a kettle boil without plugging it in
āļø The concept of radical acceptanceā¦. and how itās NOT about approving their behaviour
āļø How to stop obsessing over them and start focusing on your glow-upKey Takeaways:
Their moving on doesnāt mean theyāre winning⦠it just means theyāre distracted.Waiting for karma doesnāt heal your wounds; your own growth does.Just because they abandoned your values doesnāt mean you have to abandon them too.
This episode is perfect for you if:ā Youāre stuck in the unfairness of betrayal and wondering why they seem to have it so easy
ā You find yourself obsessing over karma or wishing for their downfall
ā Youāre ready to take back your power and start living for YOUCanāt wait to see YOU moving on, unapologetic AF š„

Itās January, itās grey and cold, and if youāre anything like me, youāre on your third cup of tea before noon and wondering if itās socially acceptable to hibernate until April.
Post-Christmas blues, crap weather, and the lingering chaos of divorceā¦. itās not exactly the vibe, is it?
BUT⦠(and thereās always a but)⦠thereās a way out of this dreary rut, and it starts with a choice.
You can wallow like a whale in a pity party for one (been there, babes). Or you can choose something better. Something that lights you up. Something that takes that gorgeous vision for your life and turns it into actual, real-life magic āØ
Thatās what this weekās episode is all about: how to stop dreaming and start doing. Iām giving you a foolproof roadmap to turn your post-divorce vision into reality with the help of something fabulous: SMARTER goals and tiny, unsexy-but-powerful steps.
Hereās whatās inside:
šÆ A fresh take on goal-settingābecause "SMART goals" are so last decade dahling.
š How to make your goals EXCITING (hint: it involves BeyoncĆ© playlists and champagne-worthy rewards).
š± Why tiny, wobbly steps are the secret sauce to massive life changes.
š ļø Keystone habits, habit stacking, and other hacks to build the life of your dreams.
š„ And, of course, a few Sarah-isms to make you laugh while you get inspired.Because hereās the thing: You donāt need to overhaul your life overnight. You just need to take one small, messy, beautiful step at a time. Wobbly toddlers learn to walkā¦.and then run, love. And you will too.
Youāve got thisā¦.and Iāve got you šŖ

Ah, Twixtmas. That magical time of year when no one knows what day it is, weāre all living off leftovers, and PJs become acceptable all-day attire. Itās my absolute favourite weekā¦. but itās also the time I left the ex-husband.
December 28th. A day etched in my memory. For me, it was a whirlwind of grief, anger, relief, and uncertainty. For him? I imagine it was completely different.
And hereās the thing: that one day, that same event, was experienced completely differently by everyone involvedā¦..me, the ex, and my kids.
Thatās the thing about divorceā¦. itās never one story. Itās a million stories told through different lenses. Your version, your exās version, your kidsā version, your familyās version... and none of them will ever be the same.
This week on The Divorce Chapter podcast, Iām diving into why we all process divorce differently, how our unique lenses shape our experiences, and why itās time to stop caring what others think.
In this episode, weāre exploring:
⨠Why your version of divorce is different from anyone elseās (and why thatās okay).
⨠How our experiences are shaped by the unique lenses we see life throughā¦. our upbringing, beliefs, and relationships.
⨠Why you donāt need validation from anyone else for how you feel or the choices youāve made.
⨠How to embrace YOUR story, YOUR way, as you start writing your next chapter. This isnāt about replaying the pastā¦. itās about owning your narrative and stepping into your power. As we approach 2025, itās time to give yourself permission to stop caring what anyone else thinks and create a future thatās true to YOU.
As we head into a new year, give yourself permission to let go of the pressure to explain, justify, or validate your choices. Your story, your journey, your truth. Thatās all that matters.
Sending you strength, love, and leftover cheese this Twixtmas,
Sarah xšø

Itās Santa Season againā¦. the season of tinsel, turkey, and to-do lists longer than a John Lewis queue on Christmas Eve. And if youāre anything like me, youāre probably feeling the energy drain kicking in already.
Because letās face it⦠Christmas post-divorce is a lot. Thereās the emotional rollercoaster, the endless logistics, the awkward family gatherings, and letās not forget dodging those mood hoovers who suck the life out of you faster than a hoover plugged into a turbocharger.

š How to budget your energy like cash in a bank (some interactions are not worth the withdrawal)
