Hello and thank you for downloading another episode of The Flixters Podcast!
After a two-week hiatus The Flixters are back again with another episode of film reviews.
We get stuck into Smile 2, a sequel to the very well-made and creepy original that came out a few years back. This time around Naomi Scott (Aladdin, Charlie’s Angels) plays the host to the evil entity taking over her life. If you thought the first one was scary, this amps it up a notch!
Then, we discuss Joker 2: Folie a Deux. The sequel to the critical and commercial success, Joker from 2019. Joaquin Phoenix returns as Arthur Fleck and delivers a just as ambiguous take on the iconic character as the first. Alongside him for the ride is Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga.
Check out the show for what we thought.
And lastly, we discuss Terrifer 3, the B-Movie slasher film juggernaut that just won’t stop. Art the Clown is back for more bloody mayhem and the deaths get more and more elaborate.
Wanna find out what happens? You know what you gotta do!

Anyone looking for an intelligent action/drama could do a lot worse than Netflix’s Rebel Ridge. Starring UK born Aaron Pierre, as an ex marine minding his own business in some small US town in the middle of nowhere.
Next we have the psychological horror Speak No Evil, which is a remake of the 2022 Danish film of the same name. Whilst on holiday in Italy, American couple Ben and Louise are befriended by fellow travellers, played by James McAvoy and Aisling Franciosi. It’s been 45 years since Ridley Scott’s Alien terrorised audiences from the depth of outer space. In the intervening years we’d had sequels, prequels, spinoffs and now, in 2024, an interquel of sorts.
Fede Alverez, (Don’t Breathe) brings us another entry into the Alien franchise with Alien: Romulus. Set 27 years after the events of Alien, and before James Cameron’s classic, Aliens, this latest installment sees a group of miners discover an abandoned space station floating in space. Seeing it as a ticket off their planet, the group explore and encounter more than they bargain for.
In typical Alien franchise manner, the bodies begin to rack up!

Hello and thank you for downloading another episode of The Flixters Podcast!
It’s been six long years since the foul mouthed, samurai wielding, fourth-wall breaking anti-hero Deadpool graced the screen with his usual one-liners and graphic violence.
If the MCU has been having a rough time with audiences (and the box office), then this is the one to pull them out of their slump.

It’s being hailed as the scariest movie of the decade, but can Longlegs really justify the tag? Let’s look at the facts. Grisly murders over a long period of time, satanists, creepy dolls, and one very unhinged FBI agent.
Maybe it is, but you’ll have to download the show to find out!
We also take a look at slasher flick, A Violent Nature, which harks back to the classic slasher movies from the 80s. But this one’s a bit different in that it’s shot from the perspective of the killer, not the victims.

Scary right.
Even scarier, depending on how you look at it, is Under Paris. Billed as the next best thing since Jaws, this French shark tale, pits woman against shark in this outlandish action/thriller.
And finally, we discuss The Man Who Saved The World, a documentary about the remarkable story of Russian soldier, Stanislav Petrov, who is credited with averting nuclear war with the US in the early 80s.

Hello and thank you for downloading another episode of The Flixters Podcast!
It’s been 40 years since wise cracking Detroit cop, Axel Foley made his way to the cinema screens. Surely the most memorable character from Eddie Murphy’s illustrious career, no?
Foley’s back in another crime caper which sees him return to the city that made him so famous. It’s got the usual: action, high jinks, 2D villains and a father daughter subplot.
But the question you all wanna know the answer to is, is it worth the 40 year wait?
