  • Today’s episode features social impact leader Surabhi Jain who deep dives with me about intentional systems change leadership and how tapping into your intuition can deepen your awareness personally and in navigating professional relationships.

Surabhi is the Founding Executive Director of the Toronto Workforce Funder Collaborative, Co-Founder of Women in Power , and creator of Power x Privilege. Surabhi has spent the better part of 20 years designing human development programs, working closely with many Fortune 500 companies to help them change racially biased hiring practices, and building the capacity of the non-profit sector to change systems.

You will get to hear some of Surabhi’s experiences growing up in a progressive family in India that emphasized female education, how equity and intentionality played a role in her moving to the United States, and ultimately how these values now shape her leadership in the philanthropic sector and at the intersection of power and privilege moving toward expansive possibilities of equity and belonging.

You won’t want to miss Surabhi sharing examples of how she practically weaves deep intentionality and intuitive awareness into her life at work and as a funder. We jam on the ways that organizations can do things differently, to help build capacity and to create more meaningful impact for the communities and grantees they are serving.

Surabhi talks about the importance of hard work and leaving the world a better place than you found it. She also shares an awesome story about how her inner alignment that led her to create a job posting that went viral on LinkedIn in the fall of 2023 (you can check it out here).

You will leave this conversation reminded that our inner work must match our outer drive to create change in the world and that it’s never too late to be more intentional (and even more vulnerable) in how you show up personally, professionally and in your community.

  • Hi friends, I’ve missed you! I’m very excited to be back with new energy for 2024, especially as far as podcast releases and Intention Setting Circles are concerned. If you’re interested, hit reply in Substack or email me here subject line: 2024 Intentions.

While I have a limited number of spaces available for Deep Dive readings available, my January calendar for 1:1 Intuitive Mentorship is officially fully booked (thanks to everyone who has signed up - I’m super pumped to be working with you!) If exploring an Intuitive Mentorship container with me is one of your personal intentions for 2024, please reach out to me over email so that we can set up a free call to connect and assess fit. I will have capacity to add 1-2 new Mentorship clients starting in February so if you’re interested please reach out sooner than later! :)

Today’s solo episode is all about the intuitive block that you create and perpetuate when you second guess yourself. You’ll have a chance to reflect on what voice or messaging is playing in your head and how you notice yourself contracting at the notion of integrating your own inner guidance. You’ll also receive a reframe on self criticism and have the opportunity to expand your perspective to hold a fuller, more accurate accounting of your past memories as well as the unique unfolding of your relationship with your intuition.

Without saying it explicitly, this episode centres the idea of grace as we allow ourselves to embrace the Deep Remembering, travel back in time, and cultivate deeper conscious awareness of inner parts of ourselves that are simply prompting second guessing as an outdated form of self protection (or even protection of others e.g. parents, caregivers etc.) But what about cultivating your intuition? The good news is that lovingly engaging in the remembering and embracing the transformation of these inner parts will support deeper integration, intuitive alignment and self-trust. Welcome to a world of possibility where you can more freely and confidently tap into your inner essence and wisdom!

As always, I am so gratefulf or your feedback, Spotify ratings, and star Apple ratings and written reviews! Also, please please chime in with your thoughts and experiences in the Substack comments and podcast chat.

  • Hi friends, I hope you’re doing well and nourishing your body, heart and spirit in the best ways you know how right now.

I wanted to let you know that I’m not releasing a podcast episode this week - sorry! Here is a 5 minute voice note instead!

I didn’t have something to say that truly felt aligned to where I and we are at in this moment. It isn’t for lack of content. I have several beautiful interviews lined up to share with you as well as a number of solo episodes on intuition and impact. That said, this week it felt more appropriate to send you a quick voice note letting you know I’m thinking about you and giving permission to do exactly what you need to do right now.

Speaking of which, if something you need is some space for reflection on where you are at, what you’ve been through and where you are going so you can set clear, grounded intentions for 2024, please join my 2024 New Year Virtual Intention Circle on Thursday Dec. 28th from 8pm-10pm EST ($44/PWYC).

    The event will include:

  • Want to set intentions with me for 2024? Join my 2024 New Year Intention Circle on Dec. 28th at 8pm EST, details below!

In today’s solo episode, you’re invited to reflect on the way in which exploring your origins can bring deeper understanding and integration to the reality you are creating in your everyday life.

You’ll be invited to reflect on the stories you know, the details you might uncover, and the process of weaving inner peace with what you find (including the gaps), as well as how you can thread insight to unblock limiting beliefs linked to ancestral patterns and trauma that you might not even be consciously aware of.

You’ll hear a story about my own experience struggling to understand why I felt so deeply and passionately about a community program I was helping scale which I thought had nothing to do with my own experience, until my mom revealed how deeply personal and relevant this work was from an inter-generational perspective.

Finally, I share my own thoughts about what it means to “do good work in your life” and why I think the professional work is only as impactful as your willingness to become more present and empowered in your own inner landscape.

Have you been on a journey of discovering your ancestry and making meaning of the stories of those who came before you? I’d love to hear what you’ve found and what’s shifted for you! Feel free to email me or drop a comment on this episode in Substack.

Are you looking for a nourishing space to reflect on 2023 and set clear, grounded intentions for 2024? Join me on Thursday Dec. 28th from 8pm-10pm EST for my 2024 New Year Virtual Intention Circle ($44/PWYC). The event will include:

  • What if corporate social responsibility efforts truly protected and supported life on Earth?

In today’s episode, you’ll hear B. Lorraine Smith, an adviser, writer, speaker and corporate mischievist who holds a vision of an economy that works in service of life. She has been digging deeply into these issues and brings profound and illuminating insights that affirm how much more is possible for humanity, industry and the biosphere.

You’ll hear an incredible story of personal and professional reckoning, embracing inner and outer evolution - even at a moment where more change may not have seemed possible - and the fascinating pursuits and impact that Lorraine found as she pushed through to the other side.

If you’ve ever sensed ‘the truth’ boiling up and felt afraid to act, Lorraine’s story of flipping her 20+ year career in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ESG (environment, social and governance) industries on its head offers equal parts inspiration, humour and courage.

Have you ever wondered happens when you follow the paper trail on corporate lobby money? Lorraine reveals what she found and dives into what it means to now conduct corporate “materiality assessments” on behalf of life itself and her methodology that supports this work.

You’ll learn a heck of a lot about the CSR industry, what’s broken in our guest’s opinion, and how we might look at corporate and consumer impact differently. You don’t want to miss this!

  • Today’s episode is a solo where we dive into the idea of intention setting and how this practice can shape and transform your everyday life.

While this is a topic I’m very passionate about, today’s episode focuses specifically on the defining intentions and exploring the relationship between gratitude and intention setting.

You’ll also get to hear a fun story about the intention setting process that led me and my husband to find (or dare I say “manifest”) our dream home the summer that we got engaged!

You are also invited to a Virtual Intention Setting Circle that I will be holding on November 29th at 8pm EST. This will be an intimate and gentle container for grounding, reflecting and setting intentions for the remainder of 2023. If you’d like to come, message me with your email address and I’ll send you the Zoom details.

Drop a comment below with your own intention setting practices or a great manifesting story! I also cherish your written reviews on Apple Podcasts and am going to start sharing them on the next episode, so please let me know how you’re enjoying the show!

  • Quick Announcement: I will be holding a Live FREE Virtual Intention Setting Event for the month of December on Wednesday, November 29th at 8pm EST. If you’d like to attend please email me here with the subject line “December Intentions” for details and the Zoom link.

Today’s episode is the result of a joyful and loving grief container that former guest and dear friend Mathura “Temwa” held for me this past August (2023) when our family’s beloved boxer Rudy passed away. This episode covers so much incredible ground that you are bound to end up inspired, laughing, maybe crying, and absolutely affirmed in trusting the psychic and nuanced multi-sensory communication that is available when you love a dog or other animal companion deeply in your being.

There was an unspoken knowing that Rudy and I shared from the very beginning. In this episode, you’ll hear about the psychic sensing and synchronistic series of events that led to me bringing Rudy home.

This conversation also surfaced some amazing stories about Rudy that I had forgotten about and which connected me to new awareness of the ways he impacted me personally, spiritually, and in my non-profit career. I credit Rudy with teaching me to more fully see and appreciate the humanity of all people, especially so many individuals that many in our society overlook, step over and ignore.

You’ll have a chuckle hearing how Rudy helped pick my husband Dan and the genesis of Rudy’s majestic force guiding us more deeply into love, outdoor adventures, peace and joy. You may also notice that my grief seems to bring out more casual swearing than ever before (so if you have kids around… watch out for one or two f-bombs.)

Rudy was also an integral force in my life and my 1:1 intuitive healing work - he never missed a session, nor a podcast recording, up to the very end. You’ll hear about how Rudy’s presence impacted my readings (and he still does - even in a wonderful reading today where he came through with a loving message about my client and her dog.)

Finally, you will hear some of my experience leading up to Rudy’s passing in the hope that it illuminates his grace as well as the depth of our bond. While you would never wish to lose an animal you love, I found there was insight and healing that came to me with honouring his departure and receiving the medicine of sharing these stories.

I sincerely hope that by listening you receive some of Rudy’s loving life force and a gentle reminder of how relationships, especially including relationships with animals, can profoundly change who we are and the course of our lives.

In today’s episode I give you some updates and share some very simple yet profound insights so that you can cultivate deeper awareness as you connect more deeply to yourself, to others and the living world that we share.

You’ll hear about some of the ways I have experienced myself as a bridge in my non-profit career as well as the ways in my being and my marriage and family reflect a bridge that my ancestors might never have dreamed possible.

You are also invited to reflect on the ways in which you are a bridge in your own life and how you might tap more deeply into love, respect and humility as foundations for embodying more presence and connection in life so that we can collectively work toward a better future.

  • In this solo episode, I dive into the power of intuition as well as how to mobilize it to call in beautiful gifts and joyful surprises in your everyday life.

I emphasize the importance of not overanalyzing or rationalizing intuitive downloads and instead recommend a practice of recording them. By noting down your intuitions and the way you perceived them, you can begin to recognize and deepen your unique flavour of intuition. I share some playful personal stories of how I manifested unexpected delights during a period of opening more deeply into trusting my intuition.

The episode also explores intention setting and the role of gratitude in opening up to intuitive insights. I emphasize that intention setting involves not just visualizing your desires but also feeling what you desire and gratitude for the lessons learned, challenges overcome, and the magical moments in life. By holding intentions for ease, grace, and love in all that you do, and by allowing yourself to beam or sprinkle loving energy wherever you go, you can create an energetic environment that attracts beautiful surprises big and small!

This episode serves as an invitation to trust your inner knowing, embrace the practice of logging intuitions, and create a mindset of receptivity to not just that which your heart desires but also life’s joyful surprises.

If you enjoy this episode, drop a heart or comment sharing where you’re at in your own intuitive journey! Or if you’re listening on Apple Podcasts, please leave a 5 star rating and written review (as I mention at the end of this episode, your words and messages really help my morale as an artist and creator!)

Vanessa openly shares about her young adulthood and how her intuition led her to leave Toronto to pursue her MBA in France. She talks about the benefits of launching her PR career in Europe and why she listened to her intuition and returned to Canada a decade later as she continued to rise in her career. Contemplating the question, “What would I do if I were brave?”, Vanessa eventually took some even bigger risks that ultimately led her to launch an inspiring product, a new career, meet the love of her life, and embrace a completely new chapter of life in a new city.

We talk about big transitions in life, the process of letting go, and how love can surprise you when you least expect it. We dive into how we navigate loneliness and loss while embracing the evolution of our inner knowing. We also explore intention setting as a practice and the healing powers of nature and being of service to others.

Today we delve into the transformative journey of self-discovery and authentic living with Jake Ernst. You won’t want to miss this!
