Nika Kevkhishvili joins us to revel in the momentous victory. But heartbreak for the Czechs, sent packing after the 2-1 defeat by Turkey in Hamburg.
It's fair to say it wasn't such a thrilling conclusion to Group E - with Slovakia and Romania playing out a 1-1 draw which Carl Anka was on hand to witness - and boos ringing out for Belgium after their goalless draw with Ukraine. Dom Fifield joins us from Stuttgart to reflect the sour mood amongst the Red Devils support base...

  • Jimbo is accompanied by Tom Williams, Jay Harris and many more after an exciting day and dull night of Euro action.

England top Group C but only after another insipid display and a 0-0 with Slovenia. Is there any chance of them turning this form around? And do Southgate’s substitutions show that he doesn’t have the answers?

Elsewhere Austria win a thriller with the Dutch to sensationally top Group D at the expense of France, thanks to Lewandowski’s double stutter. Julien Laurens highlights the issues facing Didier Deschamps now.

Plus we look ahead to Wednesday’s action where Ukraine look to inspire again

  • Jimbo's joined by Duncan Alexander and Sasha Goryunov to reflect on the dramatic climax to Group B at Euro 2024.
We begin in Leipzig - where Mattia Zaccagni scored in the final minute of stoppage time as Italy broke Croatian hearts with a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw that ensures the defending champions progress to the last 16 - and leaves Luka Modrić and co all but eliminated. A beer-soaked Tim Spiers dials in on the final whistle before James Horncastle reports back from a rather spiky Luciano Spalletti press conference...
No such drama for Spain, who cruised into the next round with their third victory and third clean sheet of the tournament in their 1-0 win over Albania (which happened to assure the Three Lions of a spot in the next round...). Michael Cox is on hand to tell us more from the Düsseldorf Arena.
Then, it's all eyes on Group C and D who face their final outings on matchday three. We get the Slovenian perspective from journalist Miran Zore ahead of their meeting with England - and preview the fortunes of the other sides in action on a bumper day 12 out in Germany.

  • Jimbo welcomes Adrian Clarke, Dom Fifield and many more on another sad night for Scottish football.

The Tartan Army are heading home after a last-gasp defeat against Hungary in Stuttgart. Did Scotland let themselves down? Or do they lack depth physically and technically?

Germany also need a stoppage time equaliser against Switzerland to confirm top spot in Group A as questions are asked again about the defence.

Italy take on Croatia in the standout game on Monday night. James Horncastle sets the scene as the Azzurri’s hold on the trophy hangs in the balance.

Plus we discuss Harry Kane’s comments about England players turned pundits. Should they be cheerleaders or should the current crop expect to be criticised?

    Produced by Charlie Jones.
    Theme music by JJ Bull.

  • Jimbo's got Sasha Goryunov, Liam Tharme and Seb Stafford-Bloor alongside him to capture all the fallout from Day 9 at the Euros.
Belgium finally turned up in their 2-0 win over Romania to mean Group E is fascinatingly poised - with all four teams sat on three points going into the final round of matches. Michael Cox drops in from Cologne to talk us through the game.
Portugal booked their place in the round of 16 as Group F winners after their comfortable 3-0 win over Turkey, while substitute Saba Lobjanidze wasted a golden chance for Georgia with *literally* the final kick of the game as the debutants claimed a first ever point in a major tournament with a 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic - which does neither many favours.
Plus, an opportunity to look ahead to Sunday's action - which sees Switzerland face hosts Germany and Scotland take on Hungary. AFP's Kieran Canning joins us to preview the Tartan Army's crunch tie which could see them reach the knockout phase of a major tournament for the first time ever...

  • Jimbo welcomes Duncan Alexander and Mark Carey into the studio as we see our first elimination from Euro 2024.

Poland are gone but we should be seeing a lot more of France and the Netherlands who battle to a 0-0 in Leipzig. No France player has scored a goal yet - how badly do they need Mbappe back?

Are the dark horses back? Austria dismantle the Poles and look like making a real impact at this tournament. Tim Spiers tells us more from Berlin.

And Ukraine come from behind to beat Slovakia and reignite their campaign.

Plus we look ahead to Saturday’s action. Jose Delgado details why Portugal fans feel frustrated with Martinez. And we could be set for an incredible finale in Group E.

    Produced by Charlie Jones.
    Theme music by JJ Bull.

  • Jimbo, Adrian Clarke and Benji Lanyado are in the studio after England fail to live up to expectations but Spain definitely don’t.

It’s 4 points from 2 games for Gareth Southgate’s side but the performances seem to be getting worse. We try to get to the bottom of things and wonder whether England are the worst coached team at the Euros.

Spain took on Italy. Or was it Man City v Burnley? La Roja batter the Azzurri 1-0 with Nico Williams providing perhaps the standout performance of the tournament.

Plus Julien Laurens joins us to look at France’s clash with Netherlands and specifically the state of Kylian Mbappe’s nose.

    Produced by Charlie Jones.

  • Jimbo has Sasha Goryunov, Mark Carey and Seb Stafford-Bloor alongside him for your daily dose of Euro 2024 reaction.

We take a closer look ahead to Wednesday's action and the second matchday for Group A and B - including the small matter of Scotland v Switzerland. Jordan Campbell stops by as we gauge the mood ahead of what could prove to be a must win game for Steve Clarke's side.

  • Jimbo is joined by Duncan Alexander and Tom Williams to recap a busy day of action at Euro 2024.
France get the job done in a tight 1-0 victory over Austria - but it wasn't particularly pretty from Mbappé and co - who's tournament *could* be in jeopardy after breaking his nose...
A beleaguered Belgium saw TWO Romelu Lukaku goals disallowed as they were stunned in a 1-0 defeat by Slovakia.
Meanwhile, Romania returned to the Euros in style with a 3-0 thrashing of Ukraine - back on this stage for the first time since 2016 AND recording their biggest ever win in the competition. Romanian football expert Emanuel Roşu reflects on a seismic day in Munich.
Plus - we get an inside look at expectations for the Czech Republic facing Portugal and Georgia taking on Turkey as the first round of group games comes to a close on Tuesday. Journalists Karel Häring and Nika Kevkhishvili are on hand to help us preview those Group F clashes.

Gareth Southgate’s side open their tournament with a 1-0 win over Serbia but many still question whether England’s manager is able to react in terms of his game-management. Plus is it actually a good thing if Harry Kane doesn’t touch the ball much?

Elsewhere in Group C, Denmark are held by Slovenia while Michael Cox gives us details of the Netherlands’ come from behind win against Poland in Group D.

Monday’s action is headlined by dark horses Austria taking on favourites France. Lee Wingate tells us how Ralf and Rod can inspire Austria to victory.

Albania score the fastest Euros goal ever but Spalletti’s Italy come back to get their title defence off to a winning start. Plus the Swiss make light work of dark horses Hungary.

Sunday’s action sees England finally take to the field. Will Serbia’s giants overpower the Three Lions in the air?

Plus why should we watch Slovenia Denmark and are the Dutch about to batter Poland?

We begin with Scotland taking on the hosts in Munich on Friday. Can Steve Clarke’s side cause an upset? A returning Raphael Honigstein sets the mood in Munich.

Are there ominous signs for England with a group rocked by shock squad selections and a defence that might not be good enough for a major tournament?

Kristof Terreur isn’t feeling too optimistic about Belgium’s chances, even though they’re unbeaten under Domenico Tedesco.

We make the case for which teams will surprise everyone this summer, notably Ralf Rangnick’s Austria and Sylvinho’s Albania.

Plus Erik ten Hag, watered down beer and which Euro 2024 manager was the worst player?

  • Recorded on the eve of England's first ever Euro final, we look back at their darkest day in the tournament when, in the shadow of the Brexit vote, Roy Hodgson's side crashed out to Iceland at France 2016. Oh, how we laughed at the time. Elsewhere, Wales made history, Italy and Germany participated in the worst penalty shoot out of all time, and Portugal and Ronaldo had a shot at redemption. It's Euro 2016 - and the final in our delightful Euro Stories series. Only a few more sleeps now till Euro 2024, and Jimbo and co will be with every night there's a game on. Woof!

  • This is the penultimate episode of Euro Stories series, and our timeline has taken us all the way to 2012. This tournament is again co-hosted, with Poland and Ukraine sharing the honours. Now, we wrote and recorded this show in 2021 and a lot has happened in the world since. That's why we don't mention the war or any of the hideous things that have happened in Ukraine in the past two and half years - but do talk an awful lot about two fiendishly taxing groups, Andy Carroll, and a lot of spying.

  • It's 2008 and the world is obsessed with Barack Obama and Beyonce. Football-wise, we're more interested in events at Austria and Switzerland because it's Euro 2008 and it's great. Yes, there's no England, they failed in the rain at Wembley against Croatia. But there's Spain's tiki taka, Turkey's late late goal scoring, and one hell of a thunderstorm. Oh, and there's the French doing, well, nothing really. It's Euro 2008 and it's here.

  • We arrive at 2004, the year of Frankee and Eamonn's musical back and forth, the Blackberry, and one of the most unexpected tournaments in Euros history. Yup, we're in Portugal where there are teams on the up, like England, and teams on the down, like Germany. And this time there's a dark horse that no one expects will actually do anything at all. Will we ever learn? This is Euro 2004 brought to you by the voices that lived and breathed it from across the continent.

  • This is the fourth episode from our Euro Stories series taking you back to classic European championships from the past. It's a new millennium and we've got co-hosts: Euro 2000 is split between Belgium and the Netherlands. Crazy. Some small print before we kick off - this series was first broadcast in 2021 and recorded in the dark days of Covid so some of the audio sounds like it was recorded in a kitchen because, frankly, it was. Enjoy!
