Uncle Jim and his Treksperts will be discussing Discovery season 5 episode, "Lagrange Point" and we will be talking with Doug Brode. He's an artist and illustrator who designed props and weapons for Star Trek 2009, Among the props he designed for the film was the new tricorder, was also a technical adviser on the film. Brode has worked with property master Russell Bobbitt as a prop illustrator on such films as Planet of the Apes (2001), Starsky & Hutch (2004), and Iron Man (2008). In 1971 the company shifted direction and became famous for producing licensed action figures, including, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek, Wizard of Oz, Moonraker, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, The Black Hole, and Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Starting in 2019, Mego created action figures from the iconic Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan movie.
