Trigger warning: Grief, Death, and loss.
This episode! In this emotional and loaded episode, Hafsah speaks to Olivia and our special guest Kafayah Lawal. We talk about grief and loss. Olivia and Kafayah have both lost significant people in their lives. They both have entirely different experiences, and we wanted to share that with you. One reason we started this podcast was to share with our listeners some part of the lives we wouldn't share on our social media. This episode is one of them, especially for Olivia. I hope some of you relate to this episode, and I hope it helps you if you are struggling to come to terms with Grief and Loss.
Let us know what you think. If you have anything to share with us, you can send us your thoughts or questions at [email protected] or dm us @hafymo @oliviaarukwe or @thettnlpod.

In the episode, we talk about our experiences moving abroad from Nigeria. Olivia is currently studying Fashion and Business in Paris, France. Hafsah is getting her Masters in Business Administration - Business Analytics in Texas, USA. We start by talking about what triggered the decision to move(go to school), then we touched on the Culture shock and what we wish we knew before moving. This was a very long episode and I think we might even need a part two.
I hope you enjoy this episode. Let us know what you think. Should we make a part 2? You can send us your thoughts or questions at [email protected] or dm us @hafymo @oliviaarukwe or @thettnlpod.

In this episode, we talk about our Nigerian Parents, and how we have been able to get through the struggle of being independent. We both come from a totally different background. Olivia is a Christian Igbo girl and was raised by a single parent while Hafsah, an Igala girl from Kogi state was raised in a Muslim Household. We talked about our background, Picking a career, Moving out and giving our Parents “the talk”. We ended the podcast with a bit of advice on what to do when you are ready to break away from the bonds of parental authority. If you will like to share a story relating to today's topic, please send us a dm @thettnlpod or email us at [email protected]. Questions and suggestions are welcome too.
