Hari Raya Puasa or Eidul Fitri is here. Many know, for a month before that, Muslims “puasa” or fast by not eating and drinking from dawn until dusk. Many also see Muslims go visiting in colourful attire, not just for the day but even for the whole month. Also, not to mention the Hari Raya bazaar in Geylang Serai and Kampong Glam, where you see some food and drinks that only appear during this season. However, like for other religions, many may not know what are its significance and which practices during Hari Raya Puasa that are religious or cultural. There may also be questions that you may have about it but afraid to ask.

Welcome to the WADT podcast. Do you drink? And by that I mean alcoholic drinks like beer, wine, and different types of spirits. Singaporeans consumed on average around two liters of alcohol each in 2018, which was among the lowest in Asia-Pacific. This was partly due to the heavy taxation of alcoholic beverages in Singapore. Even so, health officials were concerned about a rise in unhealthy drinking habits among the young because of the harm alcohol has on the body. In this episode, we will reveal the truth about alcohol so that you will be better informed the next time you have a drink.
