Welcome back to another episode fished out of The Football Ramble archives!
This time around: the torrid tales of Gigi Becali reach a dramatic end, Sven putting his name forward for every single management job and a Breakfast XI. Plus, there’s entries into the Dean Windass Hall of Fame for Peter Shilton, Mark Hateley, and Mark Hateley’s greedy haircut.
Oh, and a Geordie punched a horse…

Good day! You join us for some best bits of the 2010/11 season, where we arrive at a cornerstone of Ramble lore: Richard Keys & Andy Gray. We join them in Midlife Crisis Corner on MNF to see if they can work their way around the interactive screen and discern if penalties are now easier. Richard.
Elsewhere there’s a Fulhamish tale from Craven Cottage about mum’s relaxation day, smooth moves from Robbie ‘The Pale Murderer’ Keane and an update from Diego Corner. The first of many, we assume.

Another glorious summer for England as the men win a high pressure penalty shootout and the women get one over on Scotland. Portugal are the deserved winners of the inaugural UEFA Nations League and the whole thing turned out to be a lot of fun.
As well as casting our eyes over all this we chat dings and dongs, look at the predictions we made at the start of the season and give the final word to our beloved Newcastle United.
Thanks for spending your time with us this season, we’re back on the 18th of July but have some compilations for you to enjoy until then, and listen out for a big announcement regarding next season!

England successfully qualify for the UEFA Nations League third place play-off, and have their eyes on the bronze! They couldn’t quite get past the Netherlands in the semi-final but who cares about minor details like that?
We also discuss the wonderful news about the world’s most adorable footballer, Santi Cazorla, the mercifully quick resolution of the Eden Hazard-to-Real Madrid saga, more birthday wronguns, and a come-and-get-me plea from El Diego.

Liverpool end their incredible season with the biggest prize of them all after a game that may not have been a classic, but still managed to provide a lot of memorable moments.
As well as all that the season isn’t even really over— there’s still the UEFA Nations League to come! We have a good look ahead to that, have the pleasure of a new Louis Van Gaal interview, clear up some birthday based confusion and generally have a lovely old time.

What a magical night in Baku! Goals! Empty seats! An atmosphere! Of sorts! Chelsea give Arsenal a gubbing to win the Europa League and make Maurizio Sarri’s season look pretty good indeed, as Eden Hazard and his turbo-booty give Arsenal another miserable night to forget.
After picking over this we take the time to congratulate Aston Villa on their promotion, rejoice at the prospect of a second season of Marcelo Bielsa and wonder if there could be a place for Alan Pardew to pick up where he left off in the sheikh-based Newcastle United revolution.

In the latest episode of Ramble Meets, Luke welcomes author, historian and broadcaster Jonathan Wilson into the studio to discuss a life and career spanning ten books, countless newspaper articles and editorship of a quarterly football periodical.
A graduate of Oxford University, Jonathan cut his teeth working for onefootball.com before writing his first book about Eastern European football, called Behind The Curtain. Books about football tactics, Brian Clough, and Argentinian football have followed, and this year Jonathan's tenth work, The Barcelona Legacy, hit the shelves.
In this revealing interview, Jonathan talks candidly about his career, his upbringing in the north east, and explains why Louis van Gaal will always be a terrifying man.

Could Mike Ashley finally be about to sell Newcastle United? Rumours suggest it may be the case, but one of our number isn’t so sure. Where other rumours are concerned, Man United get all Moby as their class of ’99 turn it on at Old Trafford, and there are whisperings of a return to football for Big Weng.
Poor old Sunderland suffer yet more heartache after another Wembley loss, while Charlton, Mike Dean’s Tranmere and Celtic are in dreamland. There’s also a look ahead to the Europa League final and a special mention for one Chris Wondolowski.

There’s barely any football happening but we don’t even care, there’s still room to talk about possible double agent Petr Cech, Rushin’ Ray Parlour and the hugely exciting prospect of Mike Dean stealing the show from the Wembley stands as his beloved Tranmere take on Newport County.
We also discuss the possibility of selling Ed Woodward a horse, Sunderland’s Roman inspiration and Marcus fronting up to a notorious criminal organisation.
