Brandi Harvey and Jacqueline Glass know wellness and have been on a journey to encourage healing in women. "Sistahs Getting Well" is their award-winning documentary produced by Brandi that chronicles the systemic and health challenges faced by Black women and how Jacqueline overcame them without medication. Although we gathered to talk about their incredible work, I was not prepared for the spiritual wisdom they poured out in this conversation. Get ready for church, people, because these women brought it!

Brenda and I talk about the challenges of mothering and what we can do to hold on to perspective. For more on Mom Guilt, check out my new column for TODAY.com—IS THIS NORMAL—here:

Psychiatrist Dr. Aruna has a radical perspective on mental health and healing... and she is not alone.
We cover so much ground in this podcast: medication or not, generational trauma, leaky gut as an answer to all the things, and what do we do about it all? This was a mind-blowing episode that made me realize that in order to heal, yes, medication can be helpful, but we have to treat mental illness holistically to become whole.
