Have you ever finished slashing your sexual rival's flower with your gf's boob sword and thought; "Hey, time to hit the open road." Just now realizing that I should have dropped in LIFE IS A HIGHWAY somewhere in this episode for a great joke but honestly this piece is over two hours long and I can't edit anymore or my fingers will snap off. Spoilers abound for this wonderful animation banquet but honestly it's so bugnuts that you could listen to us and still have a clear head going into it. Thanks Sarah for sponsoring the episode!

If you're still playing the drinking game where you swig every time Mark mentions One Punch Man, we recommend you have someone standing by to call an ambulance and/or pump your stomach. Ian quizzes Mark about X-Men, Mark wishes for less-violent television programming, and we announce our presidential bid for 2024.

Mark can not stop bringing up One Punch Man, earning him the title of One Track Mind Man I guess. The hosts discuss the opening and closing of the first half of My Hero Academia's Season 3 and Mark fears for his life as Ian makes him a target for the Yakuza. Mark talks about cricket, Ian teaches Mark about sack tapping, and if you drink every time Mark talks about One Punch Man in this episode you might die.

We start into My Hero Academia with episode 45 - "What A Twist!" and try to figure out who's who and who's got whose powers and whose powers are useful for whom. If you don't know anything about MHA, don't worry - we don't either. Mark talks about not knowing anything about cricket, Ian gets quizzed about quirks, and the boys try to figure out what the hell is happening.

Studio Ghibli's 2001 Masterpiece Spirited Away is above reproach but not above comparison to American Psycho, according to Mark. Listen to Ian get weepy, Mark get incredulous, and both fully-adult-grown-ass-men try to relate to a Japanese girl. Thanks for listening!

Fashion merchandising student and sorority girl Major Kusanagi is taken to an expensive restaurant by her boyfriend, the governor's son, The Puppetmaster. She expects him to propose, but he breaks up with her instead. He intends to go to Harvard Law School and become a successful politician, and believes that Major is not "serious" enough for that kind of life. Major believes she can win The Puppetmaster back if she shows herself capable of achieving the same things. After months of studying, Major scores a 179 on the Law School Admission Test and, combined with her 4.0 GPA, is accepted to Harvard Law.
At least, that's what we think happens in this movie?

TBH I'm mega blasted uploading this at 1 AM and just chilling - I hope all y'all like it. We talk about ladies leaving and how "cathartic" that is. BYE FAYE BYE ED! Do you think Ein lived long being tended after by an irresponsible child? Just a question...

The boys explore the idea of digital mental transference and what it means to have a soul. They also discuss their encounters with the extra-terrestrial and Ian lectures Mark about cults. They also play PDYB and Mark gets REALLY close to discovering a trick to naming monsters that would ruin the game!

Is it just me, or does the Teddy Bomber's penchant for being interrupted remind you of Mark? The boys say "Howdy!" to a character that makes them reminisce about an old friend, Ian asks Mark the same question twice, and Mark has a baby so if you hear one in your headphones that will explain it. Thanks for listening!

Another Jet-isode as our lovable Mr. Black hunts down an old colleague only to find his friend's child and a bit of a mystery with the clues being the very chi (ki?) of the universe. The Blues Brothers show up, Ian is a bit too candid/drunk and Mark is subjected to more Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Bakugan. Thanks for listening!

Mark offers his skills as a Quizmaster, Ian flexes his skills in French, and both boys share a single microphone and try not to cough into it too much. Apologies to Australians; Ian talks shit about koalas in this episode. This is that one episode where there's that little guy wearing a top hat who almost kills Spike.

A double-header of episodes that are tangentially related to horses for some reason. Mark tries to explain about the host services of Tokyo, Ian falls asleep I think, and there are ant-men crawling everywhere.

Animegnorant is the only podcast about anime that has ever existed or will ever exist; come listen as two ex-patriots from opposite sides of the world meet in Tokyo, Japan to discuss anime that they barely know anything about! Critical discussion, philosophizing, numerous tangents, and general ignorance about the subject on which the podcast is based abound. All of anime will be discussed eventually - one series at a time. Thanks for listening!

Ian gets confused about who founded McDonald's and who Laura Palmer's dad is. This is that one episode where they all take mushrooms and Spike talks to a frog.

Jet gets his time in the sun again as a prison ship is overrun by its inmates - we lose the thread on this pretty quickly and start talking about Joker and The Irishman because of course we do. Thanks for listening.

Fear not, for we return after a couple of months with an episode we recorded forever ago then a lot of shit happened.
In this episode we discuss My Funny Valentine, a Faye-centric episode that just leaves us feeling rushed. Why introduce Faye's whole backstory, then resolve that backstory in the same episode? Why use Google Translate to write you song lyrics? Why drink so much if you know you're recording a podcast? Why does this episode have a 15 minute tag on the end?

Great animation? Check. Excellent choreography? Check. Big Mood? Double Check. Great episode? Eh.
Joking aside, this episode deals with things that are a bit complicated when it comes to gender identity and pronouns - if we say something dumb it is because we are. Thoughts, questions, and comments can be sent to our GMail account below.
