My guest is Rafael Cordon, co-founder and CEO of tech startup Simple Proof, that has built a solution ensuring transparent elections in Guatemala. Now you might say, what does this have to do with Bitcoin? They used Peter Todd’s OpenTimestamps tool to link tally sheets to the Bitcoin blockchain and make them immutable. This way the peoples votes have been safeguarded in the recent elections in Guatemala.

I’m joined by Ray Youssef, the CEO of Paxful, the peer-to-peer exchange which recently removed Ethereum from their platform and he is the co-founder of Built with Bitcoin. This interview took place at the first African Bitcoin only conference in Ghana at the beginning of December 2022.
As Mark Maraia writes in an article about Youssef in the Bitcoin Magazine: “Youssef is the only person you will ever meet who went into New Orleans shortly after Hurricane Katrina struck and who flew into Egypt on an empty plane while the Arab Spring was becoming very dangerous and who went into Africa eight years ago to better understand how the people from that continent might use Bitcoin as a solution to their economic problems.”
Ray was a guest on my show already in May 2020, listen in to hear his adventurous story at
Paxful has been doing a lot of educational work in several African countries. The Built with Bitcoin Foundation is a humanitarian organization devoted to creating equitable opportunity by providing clean water, access to quality education, sustainable farming, and humanitarian support—all powered by Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
Today we’re talking about building local communities, how to foster sustainable education, how the lives of people have been changed to the better and about the role Bitcoin is playing.
The Anita Posch Show is hosted on BTC Podcasting, a Bitcoin for Fairness project, where you can host your podcast for free and at the same time earn bitcoin. Prior solutions required that the host is running their own Lightning node, which is no easy task. At BTC Podcasting we’re working together with Alby to make earning bitcoin accessible for anyone.
On top of that the open-source platform enables hosts like me to add chapters and images to the episodes. If you use a podcast app like Breez.technology you can see the associated images and links and send some sats to me.

This is the audio version of my article Opposing the Corruptible Fiat System, Bitcoin Enforces Universal Human Rights.
It lays out how Bitcoin directly enforces seven of the 30 human rights listed on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations. The article shows the correlations between authoritarianism, corruption, inflation and oppression and how financial exclusion is used as an instrument to keep two billions worldwide from using a financial service.

Today I’m speaking with Obi Nwosu and Pete Winn from Fedi, a new company that is building a community wallet on the Fedimint protocol. This is an exciting project because it opens a new form of shared custody for Bitcoin. The best custody is still self custody where you hold the keys to your Bitcoin, but for many people self custody is hard because they live in difficult circumstances, or can’t afford a signing device. With Fedi you trust your friends and trusted members of your community, who hold the keys collaboratively.
Fedi is looking for the most motivated communities in the world to hyperbitcoinise in 2023. If this is your community apply now.

My guest is Dr. Edwin Moyo, Chairman of Nhimbe Fresh one of Africa’s premier exporters of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and peas. Nhimbe Fresh is located in Zimbabwe and became famous in some Bitcoiner circles because they did a crowdfund for a solar power plant together with the Sun Exchange from South Africa. In this funding one could buy solar cells with traditional currency and with bitcoin. This fundraise turned out to be the biggest crowdfunding in Africa so far.
In March 22 I visited Nhimbe Fresh’s farm in Marondera to see the solar power plant, the blueberry planting and met with Dr. Moyo to discuss Nimbe’s plans. Today we re discussing the outcome of these ideas: the new Nhimbe blueberry crowdfund, where supporters form all over the world can buy single blueberry plants via bitcoin and lightning helping to create 5,000 jobs. In return they will receive a yield of the harvest for the next 5 years. The crowdfunding platform Zigurat is built on Liquid, a Bitcoin sidechain.
