Sally Adams, an alcohol researcher from the University of Birmingham, to the pod to discuss the physiological and psychological effects of alcohol consumption, the risks associated with drinking, and the cultural expectations surrounding alcohol use.
We also talked about alcohol's effects on the brain, such as impaired decision-making, as well as potential long-term health risks, including various cancers.
In the end we also turned to the nature of hangovers, their causes, and practical tips for responsible drinking, as well as Dr. Adams' personal journey of abstaining from alcohol and its positive impact on her life.
