Join Kathryn and Grace as they break down S1E16: "Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers!" (Content warning: this episode of the podcast contains a discussion of verbally abusive relationships. If you want to listen to the rest of the episode but skip that part, stop at 1:02:00.) We talk about one of our favorite minor characters (hello, Chase!), why we're huge fans of Rachel, and why we would love to get the chance to attend Miss Patty's Story Hour. We also discuss everything that goes down the night of Stars Hollow's Firelight Festival, whether that's Lorelai and Richard reconciling, Rachel and Luke's define-the-relationship moment, or one of our least favorite scenes in Gilmore Girls history. Plus: more David Lynch/Gilmore Girls parallels, some all-time fashion highs and lows, and Grace's truly awful Richard impression!

Tune in as we tackle S1E15 "Christopher Returns": an episode that has everything that makes Gilmore Girls great! There's town stuff! Family drama! Luke and Lorelai angst! Chuck Berry references! Plus two of the worst people to ever appear on screen: Straub (which we now know how to spell) and Francine! Join us as we break down Christopher and Lorelai's relationship, that incredibly painful Richard and Lorelai scene, and why we feel especially badly for Rory here. Plus, a discussion of The Offspring, Richard's love of Chuck Berry, and the one line that almost ruins the whole episode!

Join Ebo and Grace as they break down one of the most controversial episodes of Gilmore Girls: "That Damn Donna Reed!" This is the first episode of Fully Puffed we've ever recorded in person, and we have a great time (and go on a LOT of really fun tangents) discussing this one. Tune in to find out which Gilmore Girls actor is now hosting meditation retreats/life coach sessions (don't worry--we've signed up!), to hear our theories about who Dean would've voted for, and to learn about our (at this point, totally fake) Patreon. As you might've guessed, we also spend a lot of time analyzing the Donna Reed plot, and trying to figure out why the writers made certain....very interesting choices. This is a super entertaining installment of the pod, and we'd love for you to tune in!

While some may say that "Concert Interruptus" is just one long commercial for The Bangles (and they're probably right), we have a great time talking about everything in the episode, from god-awful fashion (seriously, it's some of the worst in the whole show), Lorelai's jealousy over Rachel, and Madeleine and Louise's decision to ditch the concert. We also provide a definitive answer to whether the Rachel/Anna Nardini timeline adds up (thanks to Ebo, a #womaninSTEM), learn a lot about Seventh Day Adventists' relationship to food, and figure out whether or not Charles I received a fair trial (spoiler alert: probably not?).

Join Kathryn and Grace as they reveal themselves to be secret Rune defenders (okay, it’s not that they actually like him—they just think he’s fun on the show!), celebrate Sookie and Jackson finally getting together, and overall, just have a great time with S1E12 “Double Date.” They also figure out where else they’ve seen every minor character in the episode, debate whether double dates are ever a good idea (spoiler alert: almost never), and, perhaps most importantly, make a case for why Pop Tarts should be bigger. Plus: Kathryn dishes about Fugazi t-shirts, Grace finally gets to deliver one of her favorite lines, and the Puffs figure out which character is almost certainly a time-traveling serial killer.

We're back, baby! We have to admit, "Paris is Burning" isn't our favorite episode of Gilmore Girls, but we managed to have a ton of fun in this installment of the pod! Join us as we break down Lorelai and Max's break-up, celebrate Sookie finally asking out Jackson, and talk Lorelai and Rory self-identifying as Tanya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan. Plus, we agree it's okay to eat pizza out of the garbage (as long as it's still in the box and from this Tuesday), decide we'd like Max much better if he'd eaten a book on Parents' Day, and support Grace as she first encounters Rory and Lorelai's clown pillow!

Join Ebo and Grace (Kathryn will be back next week!) as they talk about one of their favorite episodes: “Forgiveness and Stuff!” There are so many memorable moments in this one—the Santa Burger! Lorelai and Luke’s heart to heart in his truck! The “I demand to go first” scene in Richard’s hospital room!—that you won’t want to miss it. Plus, we discover Ferris Bueller: The TV show, confront Lorelai and Dean’s weirdly flirty relationship (ugh), and explain how this episode connects to so many others in the series!
-
Join Grace and Kathryn (we miss you Ebo, but we can't wait to have you back next week!) for a Fully Puffed instant classic: a discussion of "Rory's Dance!" We have plenty to talk about: our own high school dances, Squeaky Fromme, "Hard to Watch" (from 30 Rock, obviously), monkey lamps, and the possibility that Sookie might be responsible for the opioid epidemic. Plus, we finally solve the mystery of "Dristan" (and kind of wish we hadn't). This is a really fun one, so be sure to tune in!
-
It's finally here: our episode on a Gilmore Girls classic, "Love and War and Snow!" There's a lot of great stuff in this installment of the pod, too, so you won't want to miss it. Did you know Kathryn and Ebo almost joined the DAR? (And that we're considering infiltrating the organization?) Are you ready for the return of Tankie Luke? (Aka #LandBackLuke?) Did you know this is the one episode where Grace doesn't hate Max Medina? You'll learn about all of this, and more, if you tune in, so get to listening!
(Also, to Lane's crush, Rich Blumenfeld--we're so sorry again for messing up your name!)
-
We're here to discuss S1E7: "Kiss and Tell!" Join us as we talk about Rory's first kiss, Lorelai's reaction, and the infamous Willy Wonka movie night! We also discuss Rory and Lorelai's relationship with food, whether we hate Dean because he's a poorly-written character or because of Jared Padalecki's acting (spoiler alert: it's both), and why on earth anyone would ever suggest watching Boogie Nights in this situation.
(If you want to skip the talk about Gilmore Girls and food, totally understandable--just fast-forward through 55:00-1:05:40.)

Join us as we do a deep dive into one of our all-time favorite episodes: “Rory’s Birthday Parties!” Ebo is traveling, so she isn’t on the pod this week, but she’s here with us in spirit as we talk about why this episode feels like classic Gilmore Girls, and how it develops the relationships between Lorelai, Emily, and Rory. Along the way, we give many (well-deserved) shoutouts to the props team, try to figure out what on earth is in a Shirley Temple Black, and finally get to one of the best moments in the series: when Richard figures out he’s an Autumn. Thank you so much for listening, and happy birthday Rory!

It's our first episode with Ebo (@yo_its_ebo) as an official host! And it's smackdown you've all been waiting for...the Max Medina Thunderdome! Listen to us debate whether Max himself is creepy, what to make of his relationship with Lorelai, and how the show tries to convince us the two of them should be together. We also reveal which characters we identify with (who's Jess? Who's Tana? And who's TJ?), gush over Babette and Maury, and talk about some of the Gilmore Girls episodes we think are perfect 10s.
(Also, we're sorry if you hear a few squeaks in the background. One of Grace's dogs is really enjoying her new stuffed octopus toy!)

We're breaking down an episode Kathryn loves, and Grace almost always skips: "The Deer Hunters!" If you've ever worried about all the pressure that's put on high schoolers to get into college, wondered if learning about Christopher Marlowe is all that important (spoiler alert: YES!), or needed tips on how to memorize when Shakespeare's plays were published, this episode is for you. We also give out our first perfect 10 (well, Kathryn does) and get ready for next week's Max Medina thunderdome! Bonus: actually competent editing!

This is our first episode with a guest host, and we have the coolest one ever: Grace's best friend Ebo! She's here to share her thoughts about the third episode of Gilmore Girls, "Kill Me Now." Listen to us talk about Rory and Richard's (and Lorelai and Richard's!) relationship, the Statler and Waldorf duo at the country club, and the very real dangers of large birds/conga lines/steam room fungi. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll want to look up one specific video from the 1996 Democratic National Convention. Plus: we debate Rory's beret, wonder what's up with H.L. Mencken, and introduce the recurring character of Tankie Luke.
PS. Grace wants to apologize for sounding like she's trying to teach a class in the first quarter or so of the episode, but she also wants you to know that our killer new theme song (thanks Richie!) more than makes up for it.
-
We're here to talk about the second episode of Season 1, "The Lorelais' First Day at Chilton!" We break down how Gilmore Girls gives us a feel for Rory's new school, the way it plays into (and subverts) the tropes of the high school show, and Rory and Paris' relationship. Expect lots of talk about navigating academia, female friendships, and Gilmore Girls' true crime potential (what's up with the Cosa Nostra code at Chilton?).
-
It's our very first episode! We introduce ourselves and talk about how we got into Gilmore Girls (did you know Kathryn used to hate the show? Or that, at one point, Grace spent 12% of her waking hours watching it?). We also take a look at the different audiences Gilmore Girls has attracted over the years, the tension between the way it was marketed and what the show is trying to do, and how the music points to it both being grounded in and transcending the era. Later, we break down how the episode works as a pilot: specifically, how it establishes expectations for the show, and its central relationships and the world of Stars Hollow. Get ready for a heated discussion of Eminem, a lot of talk about fake accents, and our theories on the hidden sadness of Gilmore Girls!
