The Chernobyl disaster was a catastrophic nuclear accident that occurred in 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Ukraine. Today, we deep dive into what exactly happened, the failure of leadership, and dereliction of duty. A huge amount of energy was suddenly released, rupturing the reactor pressure vessel in a highly destructive explosion, which was immediately followed by an open-air reactor core fire.
