Strange and creepy happenings beset an average California family, the Freelings -- Steve (Craig T. Nelson), Diane (JoBeth Williams), teenaged Dana (Dominique Dunne), eight-year-old Robbie (Oliver Robins), and five-year-old Carol Ann (Heather O'Rourke) -- when ghosts commune with them through the television set. Initially friendly and playful, the spirits turn unexpectedly menacing, and, when Carol Ann goes missing, Steve and Diane turn to a parapsychologist and eventually an exorcist for help.

Deep in the heart of the city of brotherly love.. is the Eastern State Penitentiary. Designed to strike terror into its most violent and dangerous prisoners, it's construction was heavily influenced by the Quakers. They believed that these inmates could be rehabilitated by hard work, isolation and god. They thought solitary confinement would lead these men and women to penitence, the root word of Penitentiary. But the deafening silence drove many of these prisoners to the brink of insanity, leading to riots, murders, suicides and unspeakable violent acts. Today the brooding gothic edifice is widely regarded as one of the most haunted buildings in the entire world.

The Winchester Mystery House in San Jose California attracts visitors from all around the world. Alien: Romulus is a 2024 American science fiction horror film directed by Fede Álvarez and written by Álvarez and Rodo Sayagues. Produced by Scott Free Productions and Brandywine Productions, it is part of the Alien franchise, set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). The film stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. It follows three pairs of siblings, all downtrodden young space colonists, who encounter hostile creatures while scavenging a derelict space station.

In the summer of 1986, the Tallman family purchased what they hoped would be their forever home in the small industrial town of Horicon, Wisconsin. When they picked up a set of second-hand bunk beds for their daughter's room, they couldn't have known there may have been an evil entity attached to it. Located about 70 miles northeast of Knoxville Tennessee, is a town called Greeneville. Greeneville is the second oldest town in Tennessee and was the capital of the short-lived State of Franklin. Named after Nathanial Greene, a revolutionary war hero, the town has plenty of history... and with old historic buildings, it's no surprise that the town has more than a few haunted hot spots. From the lost souls of the Old Greene County Jail to poltergeist activity and the screaming haunts at the General Morgan Inn, where it's said that at least 40 ghosts still haunt the building... Greeneville certainly has plenty to offer when it comes to the supernatural.

Huntsville is the most populated city in Alabama, and it also may have the most ghost stories in the state. From the ghosts of civil war soldiers held prisoner at a train depot to ghosts of an old governor rising from his grave, the tales vary.
