The conversation also covers common mistakes families make when planning for aging and the critical need for proactive decision-making. Annalee shares valuable insights into dementia, offering important information to help families prepare for the challenges it brings. Additionally, they explore the emotional, physical, and financial tolls that caregiving places on families, highlighting why it's essential to have a plan in place to mitigate these burdens. Annalee emphasizes the importance of planning and how it can safeguard both caregivers and their loved ones, ensuring a smoother aging journey. This episode provides practical advice and guidance on creating an effective Aging Plan, helping families be better prepared for the future.Contact Annalee:Phone: (239) 676-3170 Website: www.carerightinc.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/carerightincorpLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/annaleekruger/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBY2WWuTdSylECzGvksCC2wAbout Annalee:Annalee started Care Right Inc, in 2011. Care Right is a virtual, nationwide consultancy serving families across the US in developing customized Aging Plans. Adult children find themselves thrust into the role of family caregiving and in time, realize their aging loved one’s needs and safety are beyond what the family can provide. Annalee/Care Right facilitates family meetings, educates families about aging, dementia progression, preventing caregiver burnout, care options, how to pay for care, choosing care communities, how to navigate the complex healthcare system, how to be a bold advocate, and helps improve family relationships and communication.Prior, she worked as a social worker, marketing director, and executive director in long-term care communities for 18 years and saw a need for families to start discussing the “what when’s” of aging sooner rather than later. Her goal is to reach families proactively---when they first start seeing the writing on the wall that things may not be going well with their aging parents (falls, ER visits, weight loss, dementia progression, spousal caregiver burnout) but unfortunately, 92% of families come to Care Right in crisis mode.Annalee is also working with two international Accreditation firms to create an academy, (ASCA—Aging Strategist Coaching Academy) allowing her robust Aging Strategist training program to be accredited and certify the coaches who go through the academy. Annalee’s book, The Invisible Patient: the emotional, financial, and physical toll on family caregivers is available on Amazon.

Bio:
My name is Paige Neumeyer. I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in dementia care consultation. I recently started my own business, Aging Mind Care to help support those living with dementia and their caregivers.
I have over 20 years of experience working in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospice, Social Services Director in a Skilled Nursing/Long-term Term Care Community, and as an Aging Life Care Manager and Counselor in senior care communities. Working in these settings, I began to see the impact of aging, particularly cognitive changes, and how this can greatly impact everyday life, not only for the individual but also for their loved ones caring for them.
I had a desire to learn more about dementia and how to provide effective care in an effort to improve the quality of life for all involved. I became certified as a dementia care Consultant and Trainer under Teepa Snow, national educator and founder of Positive Approach to Care. I am also a Certified Dementia Practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. Colton Hall from Kaduceus Pharmacy joins the conversation to discuss how their approach to pharmacy services stands out in the industry. The episode begins with Colton explaining how Kaduceus Pharmacy is different and what it means to be a full-service pharmacy, detailing the comprehensive care and support they provide to their customers. Kim and Colton delve into the three biggest challenges seniors face regarding their medications, including managing complex medication regimens, understanding potential side effects, and ensuring adherence to prescribed treatments. Colton offers practical solutions and advice to help seniors overcome these challenges. He shares insights into the principles of holistic coaching and how it promotes overall well-being. Listeners will also learn about Kaduceus Pharmacy's medication delivery services, including their commitment to delivering all medications at no charge. Colton confirms that they deliver to both homes and facilities, ensuring convenient and reliable access to necessary medications for all their customers. This episode provides valuable information on managing medications and promoting a healthier lifestyle, offering support and resources for seniors and their caregivers.Contact Colton:Website: https://www.KaduceusPharmacy.netPhone: (832) 861-7976Email: [email protected]: www.instagram.com/KaduceusPharmacyHTXAbout Colton:Colton is a pharmacist who grew up in an independent pharmacy his father opened and successfully ran, where he was deeply instilled with the drive to serve and help others at the highest level. He worked in different settings, mostly retail, for 7 years after he became a pharmacist before he decided to start over and embark on a life-changing journey. After hitting his 'threshold' of suffering, fueled by debilitating anxiety dependent on medications for a decade and 18 years of drinking & smoking every day; in 2018 he jumped into the unknown and went all-in on a self-healing & self-awakening journey (he had no idea what he was getting himself into). He knew there had to be more to life, that there had to be answers, and that he'd probably keel over & die if he kept living the way he was; numb & consumed by anxiety. Initially, it was all about healing himself and removing the majority of his suffering; it quickly turned into his passion and life's mission to figure out how to truly help others at the highest level; to help others help themselves. Colton is now determined to bring real, personalized care & service back into healthcare (where it is sadly & sorely missing). In perfect alignment with the owner of Kaduceus Pharmacy, as the pharmacist-in-charge, he is focused on providing an unmatched pharmacy service to all patients as well as facilities; while also helping anyone who wants help with everything they need to get healthy and remove themselves from dependence; from increasing & maintaining independence, to simple lifestyle coaching, to deep transformational coaching; with all he's learned via free advice, coaching, tools, recommendations, advocating for others, and helping people advocate for themselves._____________________________________________________________________Contact Kim Hegwood – Elder Law AttorneyWebsite: https://yourlegacylegalcare.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/YourLegacyLe...LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/your...Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yourlegacyl...FREE Books on Dementia Care: https://yourlegacylegalcare.com/books➡️ Take our 5-minute “Trust the Future” quiz to discover if your independence, wealth, and legacy are truly guaranteed: https://your-legacy-legal-care.involv... ⬅️Your Legacy Legal Care™1150 Clear Lake City Blvd., Suite 100, Houston, TX 77062(281) 218-0880 #medicationdependency #holistichealth #seniorcare
