  • This week's special bonus episode of Life in Food with Laura Price is a bit of a change from the norm because I've interviewed my very own parents, Chris and Tony Price, who are celebrating 50 years of marriage in 2022. I credit my parents for leading me to my love of food, but I've never really explored where their own love of food comes from, so I wanted to quiz them about their own parents, the foods they ate growing up and how they went from a young couple who never ate out to regular restaurant goers and world travellers. In the episode, we talk about growing up with ration books, sharing a love of Fry's Chocolate Cream bars, and the secret to a long and happy marriage.

She talks about the death of both her mother and Nell, relating it to family food memories of home-cooked lasagne, roll-mop herrings and fish chowder. Finally, we also talk about Dame Deborah James and why it's important to encourage healthy conversation around death.

  • In the latest episode of Life in Food with Laura Price, I speak to Nikki May, author of the brilliant novel Wahala, a darkly comic and bitingly subversive take on love, race and family featuring three British-Nigerian girlfriends who live in London. Inspired by a meal with Nikki's own girlfriends, the book weaves food through every chapter, so I was keen to talk to her about her love of food and how it reflects her British-Nigerian identity. • In the latest episode of Life in Food with Laura Price, I turn the tables on myself to celebrate the publication of my debut novel, Single Bald Female. My good friend and voice actor Lucia France grills me (geddit?) about Food and Healing, from the meals that helped me after my cancer treatment to why one of my first thoughts on diagnosis was 'what will I have for lunch?' We talk a lot about tea, pasta and dining in the world's best restaurants.

About Single Bald Female: Described as 'Dolly Alderton meets The Fault in Our Stars for grown-ups', Single Bald Female is the story of Jess, a young magazine journalist who has hit all the milestones for turning 30 – the career, the loving boyfriend and a cosy London flat they share with their cat. But a shock diagnosis of breast cancer turns Jess’s world upside down, and her contented life implodes with it. Frank, funny and poignant, Single Bald Female is a completely unforgettable story of love and friendship. OUT NOW!

  • In the latest episode of Life in Food, I speak to The Fake-Up author Justin Myers about Food and Dating. For the best part of a decade, Justin was an anonymous blogger who went under the pseudonym of The Guyliner, writing about his experiences of dating. After five years writing for the Gay Times, he now has a weekly column for GQ and has written articles on everything from dick pics and dating green flags to a handy guide to whether you’re giving your partner the ick. In 2017, he outed himself as Justin Myers in order to publish his first novel, The Last Romeo, before going on to write two more novels and being dubbed 'the master of the modern romcom'. Our discussion covers everything from the best and worst foods to eat on a first date to the gentrification of working class foods and the issues with food and class.

About Justin Myers: Perhaps best known for his Guardian Blind Date reviews, Justin is a freelance journalist who writes about love, dating and other topics under the name The Guyliner. He is the author of three novels including The Last Romeo, The Magnificent Sons and The Fake-Up, and he was also a script consultant for the BBC adaptation of Adam Kay's non-fiction book This Is Going to Hurt. Justin grew up in Shipley, West Yorkshire, and now lives in London.
