We speak to Victoria Braddock from Marketing Manchester on why people from around the world want to visit the city and the role the airport plays in that. We also hear from Jen Cormack who is a Sales and Marketing Director for Windermere Lake Cruises, as well as a non-executive Director of Cumbria Tourism on how the airport is offering a gateway for international visitors to explore one of the UK’s most scenic spots.

They talk to Tom and Adam about what it’s like to be a travel influencer and share stories of their recent trips from their second home, MAN.

Last series, we heard from Jill Fraser on the plans for Phase 2 of MANTP. In this episode, Tom and Adam are joined by Rick Wagstaffe from the MANTP team to hear about the progress made and take a tour of the parts of T2 that are under construction, including the new pier and departure lounge. They also drop in to see the new baggage system, which will move hold luggage from check-in to the aircraft more quickly than ever before and use a state-of-the-art automated system to sort bags with accuracy of over 99.9%.
Following the terminal tour, it’s time to head out onto the airfield to see how a reconfiguration of the taxiways is making Manchester Airport more efficient than ever before. We hear from Ben Gledhill on the airport’s Talent Acquisition team who explains how the transformation programme and wider growth of the airport is opening up new career opportunities for local people.

Where are some of the weird and wonderful places people will be jetting off to this summer and beyond? Manchester Airport is proud to serve new routes to destinations as varied as Luxembourg, Shanghai, Las Vegas and Casablanca this summer, but old favourites like Spain, Greece and Turkey will be very popular as well.
